just got back after spending 9 nights at the Los Gracioseros, lovely place bit dated in area`s but clean and tidy, rooms clean and well equiped, plenty of storage and roomy, bathroom clean and spacious and everything worked as should do,towels changed every 2nd day and bedding was changed twice on my short stay so overall very good. Staff were fiendly and helpful, Debbie, Rob and Lee bar/snack area what can i say they played a big part in making this a great holiday, really friendly and a laugh, the food great as well and all resonable priced, the breakfast well worth the money and gorgeous. As a single traveller, i found these apartments to be everything i wanted from my holiday, everything was within a short walking distance, nice beach 10 min walk bus stop to all major routes 5 mins good supermarket 3 mins and main st with bar and restaraunts 5 mins so great location. Will definately go back.

Spent 2 weeks(8th-22nd March) at this gem of a place. So peaceful, apartment spotless, pool bar friendly with super breakfasts. Pool bar staff excptionally friendly. Book swap library in reception. Across the road Taverna de Cara Tapas Bar, super staff and food, round the corner well stocked and low priced supermarket. Bus on seafront (4 minute walk). Would highly recommend a stay here - just cannot believe it bears only one star. Thanks to all for a wonderful holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for you and we appreciate all your advice and help.

Had a wonderful time here. Apartment, pool and surrounding grounds are always very clean.Management is always very helpful, friendly and supportive.Although the bar area is a bit pricey, the people are very chatty and also a pleasure to talk with. Good entertainment in the evenings too. It is also a great feeling knowing there is night security. All in all, my son and I have always had good experiences here. There are no gimmicks or continous loud noises that you get in other places. It has a very calm and peaceful environment and a great place to relax. Would recommend it.

Clean and tidy. Quiet in the evenings except when Spain won the world cup. Pool bar served nice food, especially the burgers. Good value for money in the apartments and in the resort. Cheap water from pool bar. Short stroll to the strip and just a bit further to the beach which wasn't too bad for someone with a bad ankle. Towels changed every other day and bedding was put in unique styles, which was nice. Safety deposit box provided at a good rate. Friendly staff. Would come here again. Went early July before the school holidays which meant the pool was quieter but did get busier with kids towards the end. Some lovely restaurants, especially the pizza restaurant next to Spa. Great for a relaxation holiday, by the pool and sea.

Very Basic

Just back from a one week holiday with my sister stayed in Las Grascieros Apts Puerto del Carmen after our agency cancelled our flights to Jable Apts I had already booked online but was told by friends who live in Puerto del Carmen that major roadworks were due to be carried out all along the main "Avenidas" strip. Our agency lied to us and advised us that I had been misinformed and that this would only be "paving slabs being replaced"
We arrived on our new flights approx 2pm in the afternoon after 4 hours and travelled by bus for a few minutes to very basic apts. We had a kettle, toaster some crockery and some cutlery with 1 teaspoon but gthe pillows (1 each) were very flat and hard and we had to ask for more at reception. Although there was plenty of storage, the twin bedroom was very small and we found ourselves constantly falling over either each other or banging off the corners of the small beds.
The pool was big and very inviting with also a childrens side however, the blackboard at the poolbar stated a "warm welcome" which we never received from any of the people who ran this bar and although I thought it was just us I found out by talking to some other residents that the rudeness was across the board!!
No change of bed sheets during the week even though the weather was very hot and the towels were threadbare and only changed the Wed (we think as they still smelled)!!!
The only saving grace was the location was great not far to all amenities but the whole of the "Strip" is dug up for major roadworks so i feel sorry for anyone who was staying down near this stretch as the noise, dust and sewage smell was disgusting.
Food and attitude in a lot of the places is really bad but I have to big up the Antica Italian restaurant on the strip (but away from the main strip facing Matagorda) even though you will probably have to wait a little while to get a table it is definitely worth waiting on. I will also say the same for Las Cascados steakhouse in the OLDTOWN which have never let us down for great food and service in 10 years we have been travelling there. Please note do not mix this steakhouse up with the "other" Cascados in PDC which serves terrible food along with the Lani's chain.
Buddys Bar in the Oldtown for great live music everynight except Sunday has a great cover band and the service is so very friendly we went back a second night.
I know now that I will not be going back to Puerto del Carmen, because with the exception of these few places that I just named it all seems dated, shabby and in dire need of a facelift. If I was to ever venture back to Lanzarote I would be more inclined to book the Matagorda side as it seems a lot cleaner and recently refurbished hotels make it all seem a lot more inviting than PDC. Four hour flight for nearly 500 euros is definitely too much now for a sun holiday there so I shall be looking at another location next year.

Spent 28 nights from December 27th till Jan 24th 2008. Cannot praise this site more; excellent management and friendly from Didier and Elizabeth and all staff. Well furnished rooms, double thick mattresses, immediate attention to problems: tap repaired in 20 mins; extra pillows same day; immediate light bulb replacement; sticking door removed and planed same day; nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
Site close to all amenities, on the flat, no hills to climb.
Will definately return to this site.

Lovely apartment complex, very basic...

Lovely apartment complex, very basic accommodation but then again who wants dishwashers or microwaves when away in a country that’s so cheap to eat out in?
The cleaners came in every morning and changed the towels around every second day which was great. The pool is a great pool if you can swim as its very deep and great for diving. The poolside bar is run by very friendly staff John, Kerry, Jim but to name a few.
The food is excellent especially the breakfasts (try the 3 Jays belly buster!) Also ask John to show you his magic tricks and see if you can figure them out, I couldn’t ha-ha...All round lovely complex with friendly staff and guests located 5 minutes from lovely pubs and restaurants (Grapevine beside Muck Duck).
Will definitely be back next year!

The accommodation in Los Gracioseros...
7 / 10
May 2005, Ms S McCormack

The accommodation in Los Gracioseros was basic, but clean. The complex itself was lovely with a good size Swimming Pool and Kiddies Pool.
The cleaners came with fresh sheets and towels about every second day. I didn’t like the fact that u had to rent the kettle and toaster. The Poolside bar is run by a very nice English family and served a good Breakfast and Snacks through out the day. They also have a BBQ once a week which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The Beach was a good 15-minute walk from the property. We found a fabulous pool cafe on the way up from the Beach called cafe Ola, it's like something u would see in a magazine, the do a lovely cava sangria with strawberries, and a fab view of the sea, def a must.
I would definitely go back to Los Gracioseros for a holiday, the sun was shining, the staff were friendly and the craic was great.
