I am not entirely sure what hotel is being reviewed below but i guess they must have set their expectations quite low. Its certainly not a 3 or 4 star having been to a 4 star in Icemeler last year! 2 star at most. This is due to the accomodation quality, food quality and... more

Great
My self and my partner went to Club Izer Beach Hotel in May 2007. It was a present from my parents for my 18th birthday. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely. We were slightly disappointed with the food, but what can you say.... we didnt expect it to be perfect. Be careful of the guys who come around asking you if you want a massage or a turkish bath, they say its only around 15euros but it actually turns out to be around 40euros each!! So you think its a bargin until you get to the till. Our room was lovely, we requested a double bed, and got a double bed rather than 2 beds pushed together.. we asked for a ground floor room, we got a ground floor room. Over all the holiday was perect for a getaway.... Absolutley loved it, and would most definatley go back again!! Well worth the money and should be more of a 4* hotel rather than 3. We went on a day trip on a boat trip which was absolutley fantastic... we travelled all day on the boat, & went various places including camel beach.... you really need shoes for that beah or you will end up burning the bottoms of your feet!! Its also well worth a trip into bodrum, the dolomus costs next to nothing, but when you are shopping always remember to haggle.... it gets you a long way!!
loved izer beach
just arrived home from izer beach had a great time staff are brilliant..... food not so brilliant ....the only thing that lets down the hotel is the food... on the whole good holiday. not alot for the children to do as the kids club had closed down. rooms are basic but clean, location is good. first choice are aware of food being basic and repetative but they say it is traditonal turkish food.
reality
we thought to stay for a week in this hotel, and came in but in the third day we saw the real face of this hotel and left immediately.some staff of the hotel is so disrespectful that we couldn't believe in our eyes,ears..And more surprising thing is that no authorised person listened us and behaved..If you want to spend your money in vain I advice go can go to this hotel..
great hotel
Stayed in the Izer beach hotel for a week this august and had a brilliant time. The hotel is in a perfect location. beautiful views and the staff were extremely friendly. They couldn't do enough for you. Our room was cleaned every day and we were given clean towels daily. The food was also very good. I have been to a few all inclusive holidays before and yes maybe the food was better at some of the other places but i never went hungry all week. There was enough choice for everyone and they also do theme nights in the restaurant. Not only that if you did not want to eat in the main restaurant you could go to the italian or the turkish a la carte restaurant or the fish restaurant on site (although the fish place was closed the week we were there) so the choice was plenty. Also there were snacks during the day. If you want a nice holiday in a beautiful bay i recommend this hotel. We had a great time.
LOVED IT
it was the first time i have been to Turkey and it was amazing!! I enjoyed every second of it. Rooms cleaned everyday sheets changed. Food was ok but not as good as i thought it would be. On my first day my friend and i did not know any one and all the staff and animation team made us feel very welcome. The hotel had two swimming pools a quiet one and a loud one, Go to the loud one where we were all the time as there is music and the animation team give great entertainment this is for all the teenagers. However if you just want to relax go to the quiet one where you can soak up the sun in peace! In the evenings we went to the roof bar lovely view and then about 11.30 the disco would open! Again brilliant time! I highly reccomend it! I am now going back to this hotel next year as i had such a great time and made so many friends! miss all the animation team they were great!!! this hotel should of been a 5* hotel.
Nice Hotel, Great Staff, Bad Food
We have not been to Turkey before so did not know what to expect. We have stayed All inclusive on our past three holidays, Two of them being with our children 2x12 and 1x14 year olds. Flights and transfers all good. On arrival at the hotel the reception staff are not that welcoming, Just pointing when asked if there was somewhere to get some food and a drink. The great rooms, where a good size, seperate bedroom and living area. Cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding. We where at the top end of the hotel next to the main pool, be prepared to be woken by srange noises at 10 a.m. Wanted a gun to shoot the crowing cockrel and the trupeter(DJ wake up call). Entertaiment and activities for the kids is very sparse in the day time, we are used to having more things like shooting, archery, and activities aimed at older children. The staff at the bars and restraunts are very freindly and the kids loved them, always having time to talk to you. The food is the biggest let down, Snacks in the day are spag bog and chips all day, everyday. Toasties at lunch and burgers between 3-5 p.m. Ice cream is only available Tues, thurs, sunday between 3 and 4.(long wait)cannot understand why they do not make it available all day. The kids get fed up of eating it!!!! so there will be no long queues. Evening meals, if you got there at 8 to make sure you got food there would be knowhere to sit, If you left it later the food would be getting cleared away. Not much of a choice either, mainly salad, if there was show cooking there would be a big line up of people waiting. Waited 20 mins one lunch time for meat balls. Told by our rep that it was Turkish holidays and that they ate a lot of food, so why did the hotel not cater for this? We realise that we are in a foreign country and the food will be differant and we have always accepted this. But when you see Turkish people with plates of chips, bread and salad it makes you think how bad it is. ONE BIG WARNING! Buy bottled water, my daughter saw one of the water cooler bottles being refilled at a tap. When this was questioned by the rep, she was told the water had to be tested every two weeks. But everytime we drank the water from the coolers we had bad stomachs. The hotel is in a realy good location, a nice little village; take a walk down the sea front towards the harbour. Never had a problem of finding a sun lounger even though th hotel was full. People always say the drinks are weak at all-inclusive resorts, not the case here and we have never found this at any of the places we have stayed. If you want trips out just go into Bodrum on the Dolmus. Walk towards the Harbour and after about 100 yards on the left there are some tour operators. Necdet at Director tours, first one that you come to is very helpful(speaks very good english). Rang him the night before and he arranged free pick up from the hotel for a boat trip. A lot cheaper than booking through the rep. Would definatly visit Turkey again, probably this hotel if we found out that the food had improved.
Perfect location
Perfect location for this hotel. The rooms were adequate, nothing special. We were in a superior room, but we didn't find anything particularly superior about it. Staff were all very friendly and helpful but the food let it down. Not a lot of choice with the food so we ended up eating a lot of salad. I would go again in spite of the food. The price was very reasonable for everything that was included.
nice hotel,shame about the food
We picked Turkey as we have been going there for the last two years.First two years we stayed in Antalya but this year we picked Izer Beach in Torba, and were quite dissappointed. There are two things that let this hotel down, the food and the childrens entertainment. The choice of food was very very poor, meetballs or chicken, with rice, for dinner, and if you like eggs you will be ok for breakfast,as thats all you got,oh sorry with bread.i have a ten year old daughter and the entertainment for her was a joke, very badly organised.the good things about this hotel are; the slides, two of them, kids loved them.our room was ok,clean and everything you need in them, and the turkish staff very friendly.all in alll we had a ok holiday, nice to get away, but we will not be going back to izer beach hotel, but we we will still go back to turkey. marks out of 10.... 6.
Beware - See Letter Copied We Have Sent To Travel Company
I have pasted below the letter we sent to the travel company - what an experience, just glad the weather was good, the rooms were clean and the pools ok. I am writing with reference to a recent holiday we took, which was booked from your Turkey, December Edition through Co-op Travel. There seem to be a few discrepancies as to what was offered, as advertised in the brochure, and on the Information Boards on site, compared to what was actually offered/available at the Hotel. We stayed at the Club Izer Beach Hotel, and our dates of travel were from Saturday 13th May 2006 until Saturday 20th May 2006. I have listed below anything that we were unhappy about and cannot understand that if we have paid for a holiday, which advertises “services”, why we could not be allowed “access” to them. ·Hotel run kids Club – I feel you should have advertised that the staff working here did not have good English language skills. We did report to Sharon Yegin, First Choice Rep that one of the Kids Club members of staff had said she was taking our child and a child of the couple we took our holiday with to the Mini Disco. Earlier in the day I had asked about what happens in the Kids Club and if our children should need us whilst in their care what would happen. She said she would come with the children to find us. The staff member then took the children into the Mini Disco, and after 10 minutes I decided just to check everything was okay. I started walking towards the Amphitheatre to be greeted by another Holiday Maker carrying our children out, as they were upset. This should never have happened and Sharon our rep agreed with this and said she would report it. If you advertise a Kids Club, whether it is run by yourselves or offered by a hotel that you take bookings for, there should be Strict Child Protection Guidelines that should be followed. It also follows from this that not only are the children on a high stage, but the lights kept being turned down and the younger ones were getting scared, as we were to find out that there could have been any number of accidents. ·Pool room – this was locked and nothing out. ·Turkish Theme Nights – none during our week, or advertised anywhere ·Italian Restaurant – only served late breakfast, afternoon tea and not evening buffet – could book here once during stay, but bar shut after 9.30pm. ·Pedaloes – there was only 1, very dirty and did not look well kept ·Canoes – none ·Gym – only equipment was in the Private facilities which you could pay to use ·Sauna – not on, and when my husband found it, he opened the door, and it was full of equipment. There was a Sauna, which was in the Private Facility, which you could pay for. ·Turkish Bath – none in the hotel except in the Private Facility, which you could pay for. ·Evening Entertainment programme – this was held in the Amphitheatre which had no bar. Also the Mini disco was held here on a stage, which was very high for children to be dancing, running (remembering most children were 5 and under) on. ·Daytime Enterntainment programme – the board advertised many activities, however the only ones we saw were darts, water volleyball and basketball – none of which any of us were approached for or asked to take part in. The only time a member of the Animation team spoke to any member of our party was to ask to us to come along to the evening entertainment, as they were doing a raffle, or bingo, both of which you had to pay for (not all-inclusive). ·On site on the First Choice information board, it advertised 3 restaurants, there were only two open and one of those was the Italian, which as mentioned previously you could only eat at once during your stay. The Kebab restaurant was not open. There was no Fish restaurant as advertised. ·The food – each meal a different version of meatball (this was how it was labelled), was served, with occasional chicken and fish. The childrens menu was explained to us at the welcome meeting, and that it would be something “like” chicken nuggets, chips and ice cream. We took our children along on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday (only on this day as we wanted to feed them as we were leaving when the main restaurant opened), and each day Chicken Nuggets and Chips were served with orange cordial. There was no dessert and this is sometime great for kids as a treat, and as it was explained they would get it, we thought we would. ·The refreshments - all-inclusive I feel is the best option for my family from past experience, as we have been offered a good variety of refreshments both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Here the choices were very limited, and from the mouth of one barman, they had not got a lot of choice because they are not busy enough. On the Friday of our stay the hotel became a lot busier and sure enough extra food and drinks, including other brands and types, appeared in the restaurant and bar. We realised that the extra guests that arrived where from Turkey themselves, as it was a Turkish holiday and felt this rather unfair that we had to wait for this to happen to receive what we had already paid for. ·The bars – the lobby bar was only open during meal times and in the evening, and was the only bar available after the 9.30pm, which for those of us staying in the “newer” end of the hotel, we could not use as we needed to stay with the children and it would take sometime to keep going back to the bar – and we were also told that we should not take drinks back to our rooms, which when you have young children is not ideal. ·Nearby – a few shops and small restaurants in Torba village , 250m away – there was one shop and one restaurant 20m away, and we whilst on the Dolmus(local bus) to Bodrum we did see a few shops and restaurants, however the were approx 7minutes on the Dolmus away not 250m. ·We were advised that there was a delay at Check in of 2.5hrs, however by the time we took off it was 2.75hrs and we were not even offered a drink, even for the children. This obviously incurred us a further cost. The hotel we found generally clean and tidy. The pools , gardens and sunbeds seemed well kept and the rooms were cleaned and beds made nearly every day. We did write some comments on the postcard given to us by our rep, however we did not see her after Wednesday, and were unable to give this to her. I have enclosed the postcard. I am annoyed that we did not receive exactly what we paid for and feel that the information in the brochure and on the information boards to be incorrect. I am really disappointed by this experience we have had and hope to hear from you soon. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU DECIDE
WHAT A SURPRISE!
We went last June for 7 nights with First Choice Holidays, who were great. Apart from the awful flight (Thomas Cook Airlines) we had a wonderful surprise with the hotel. There are 2 pools, 1 is quiet and by the beach the other is lively with music and aerobics etc. There are free sunbeds and shades provided. Both pools have bars. As for the rooms we stayed in a superior room which is in the older part of the hotel, nearer the beach. The room and bathroom were very clean. Although basic, it was very comfortable and we could not fault it. Being all inclusive we thought the food would be of a poor standard, how wrong we were! There is a choice of 4 restaurants - Buffet, Italian, Turkish and Fish. The variety was great, we never had the same dish twice. In the buffet restaurant there was a wide choice of cold dishes (pasta, salad etc) and the hot dishes were hot! The Italian restaurant, by the lively pool, was excellent. The Turkish restaurant was also great. Torba village is a lovely 10 min stroll along the beach. There are a few bars/restaurants along the promenade. On the beach there are various watersports. Bodrum is a 15-20 Dolmus ride away. The Dolmus stops right outside the hotel so it makes it a really easy and cheap way to get round. There are great shops, bars and restaurants in Bodrum it's well worth a visit. The hotel has its own little shops and a couple of times a week a small market that sells the typical tourist goodies. The staff are some of the friendliest we have ever met. Nothing is too much bother and they were always smiling. We would definately go back. We had a fantastic time and could not pick a fault in anything.
