Fantastic hotel

Aug 2011, Triumphboy70

Had a week at this hotel the staff are fantastic and the hotel its self is clean and has good size rooms. the pools are very nice and clean with 4 to choose from. the only problem i had when i was there was the first aider took a little to long to get to her postion when we had a problem. there is also a good hair dressers on site who also do good shaves as well. if you are thinking of buying anything from the shop try the one down the road as it is a lot cheaper. the beach front was nice with a nice out look and the sea worm. Dinner times at the Hotel were good with a large choice of food to choose from the waiters are also very helpful getting your drinks for you.

  • Advice: dont use the shop in the hotel grounds
  • Good For: Beach

Lovely, relaxing holiday. Just great :-D

This was mine and my boyfriend’s first trip to Turkey, and we had a great time.
We stayed for one week 8th October – 15th October 2009 which was the end of Season. The Hotel closed the Monday after we left, and because of this, the hotel was quite quiet. This wasn’t s problem for us and made the holiday a lot more relaxing overall. But, things like Ice Cream for children had been stopped, the roof bar had been closed, and I think the kids club had been closed, but it wasn’t a problem for us.
We were in the main part of the hotel, in the quieter area near Reception. The rooms were very nice, very clean, very modern. The bathroom does only have a shower, I do prefer a bath, but the shower was huge and in great condition. We had booked a Superior Room as that was the only available at the time of booking. The standard rooms are around the Second Pool with the Water Slides and near the amphitheater. The difference seemed to be the modern décor and the size of the shower and the TV. (Superior rooms have a flat screen LCD). We were very happy with out room.
The food was lovely, I am quite a fussy eater. But everything I tried was delicious. We were only there for a week, so it was quite varied. Though you may struggle from time to time if you are vegetarian.
I was also a bit worried about the alcoholic drinks available, as you can get Wine, Beer, Vodka, Raki, Gin and a few others. However, the bar staff make really lovely cocktails, I had these all week and loved them.
The beach is smaller than I had thought it would be. But very nice and very clean. However, like I have already mentioned, we went at the end of the season, I think it could be quite busy July/August.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and very helpful.
The only person we had issues with was the doctor. My boyfriend got an ear infection during our stay, it got bad the day before we left, so we arranged to see the Doctor. We had to wait until 6pm for him to arrive (you can call him in, but we decided to wait, as painful as it was for him, this seems like real emergencies).
When the Doctor arrived, he looked at my boyfriend’s ear for around 2 seconds and decided we had to have antibiotics and eardrops. The antibiotics he tried to give us were in medicine form and were actually Children’s Antibiotics. He just told him to take double the dose. Also my boyfriend is severely allergic to Penicillin, the doctor did not ask about any allergies.
He tried to charge us 270 Turkish Lira which is approximately £112. When we said we couldn’t afford it, he said he would take us to a cash machine there and then as he was leaving (even though he had only just arrived). Then he told us that as we were flying the next day the cabin pressure in the airplane would burst my boyfriends ear drum, he went on for about 15 minutes lying to us, trying to scare us into buying the drugs from him. He said my boyfriend would never swim again and that he may go deaf. He even tried to haggle at one point.
In the end we said no and we rang our doctor who told us all we needed was Ibroprufen, and the only thing that would happen due to cabin pressure is that the infection could burst, which would get rid of the infection….
Please, don’t go to the doctor. Any problems, go to a Pharmacy in Bodrom (it’s the closet one). The staff there will take a look for free and give you what you need. Not charge you a huge ‘consultation fee’. We ended up getting Ibroprufen for about £1.
Also, get snacks and drinks from the shop just outside the hotel before leaving. The airport is very, very, very expensive. £20 English pounds for 2 cokes and 2 beers apparently. Also, a tray of chips, about 20 chips is £5. We were lucky, out transfer guide stopped at a shop for us all to get snacks :-)
Apart from the bad experience with the doctor. The holiday was brilliant. We had a great time, the weather was lovely and we met some great people. We also went to Ephesus which was spectacular. Be warned that this is a 3 hour journey, there and back, but totally worth it!
Go to this hotel, you won’t be disappointed! Have fun.

Excellent Holiday

I had this holiday booked for more than 15 months and was really excited and needed a holiday, and I was not disappointed.
We were the only family to get dropped off at the hotel, which was only 30 mins away from Bodrum airport (which was very impressive- 20 minutes turn around from landing to transfer coach, and a very good thing was that push chairs were left at the bottom of the aircraft steps when we got off instead of the last thing on the conveyor belt, so it could be used straight away), which kinda gets you a bit worried, we arrived at 11pm, and the hotel looked amazing. The people on reception were very friendly and then took luggage to our room. We were in a superior room over looking the gardens, the only thing that bothered me was that we have an 18 month old and were put on the first floor, but as we spent very litte time on the balcony it didn't prove to be an issue.
The staff were very friendly, and my son got lots of attention from them, much to my daughter's frustration (she being 3 has a thing about foreign waiters!!).
The food was varied, there was always something for the kids to eat, and am quite grateful that they didn't do full English breakfasts as I would be a stone heavier- the deserts were to die for.
The bar staff were very accomodating and kept the kids in milk morning and night for 2 weeks. There was no hassle taking drinks back to rooms, as we regualarly sat on the balcony drinking while the kids were fast asleep inside.
Sue the first choice rep was very nice and helpful, but to be honest we didn't do much, the pool kept the kids (and husband) entertained, there were activities going on during the day, and the entertainment team came round asking if you wanted to take part, but there was no pressure to join in.
We mainly sat around the childrens pool and had an excellent veiw of the beach and sea, the kids loved watching people go off on the banana boat or off in a parachute. I loved the fact that you could sunbathe on the jetty, dive into the sea and then swim to an anchored float to sunbathe on.
It was an excellent holiday, very relaxing with good food and hospitality, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to just chill out.

Club Izer Beach is a great place, staff are all lovely and work so hard. There was always a huge selection of food at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The Hotel was cleaned to a very high standard.
We have only been home for 10 days and already want to go back.
We had two teenagers with us and the only thing lacking for them was an evening disco.
I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel.

Fabulous Time

May 2009, julesba

I have stayed at the Club Izer Beach in Torba mid-season before, I was really impressed and thoroughly enjoyed it.... this year I decided to go at the beginning of the season.
I was NOT disappointed......I had the best ever 2 weeks all inclusive holiday. The weather was good, the hotel, as before was immaculately clean and comfortable and the staff were so friendly and could not do enough for me. Food was varied and really tasty.
BEST OF ALL.......WAS THE HAMAM......THE TURKISH BATH.... if you have never had one, then treat yourself. ITS AMAZING. In England I pay £60.00 for one hour.......at Club Izer Beach I was paying £20.00 for an hour. Ask for a block of 5 and get a discount. The staff are very professional and friendly. I suffer from back and neck problems after 2 whiplash accident, after my holiday treatments I was so relaxed and able to move easier. THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND IT. FIRST CLASS.
The hotel is in a beautiful part of the Bodrum Penninsula, with lovely beaches and plenty to do.
If you fancy going into Bodrum, the Dolmus, local bus, goes from outside the hotel every 10 minutes and takes about 20 minutes. In Bodrum town you will find a good and varied selection of shops, with some gorgeous things to buy....the market..(don't forget to haggle!!)...Bodrum Castle is beautiful lit up at night, as you sit at a waters edge table having a meal....there is a lovely quay where you will find good, cheap restaraunts.
If you fancy going on a day trip, boat trips can be taken from Bodrum, also the buses at the autoban go to various destinations.
I HAD A FABULOUS TIME AGAIN.......AT THE CLUB IZER BEACH......AND WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.

  • Advice: I have fallen in love with the country......the weather.....the history.....the people....the price
  • Activities: The Hamam at the hotel was the BEST FOR ME.
  • Good For: Beach

A fantastic holiday!
10 / 10
Jan 2009, finsof

We stayed at the Izer Beach hotel for our first ever 2 week all inclusive. It was absolutely brilliant - the staff were extrememly friendly and helpful, the food was amazing - so much to choose from and all fresh with a varied and excellent range.
The room was great - we have 2 young children and we requested a sea view. The view was everything we wanted and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The swimming pools were so different! One was at the front of the hotel on the beach - this was calm and relaxing with a lovely kiddies area and slide. Very relaxing when you just want to read and swim. The other pool was more in the centre of the complex - it offered a great alternative with a dj and lots of water games, keep fit and 2 big water slides. The Italian restaurant overlooks it so great for all those inbetween snacks (you definitly wont need them but hard not to indulge especially at tea time when they serve freshly baked warm biscuits and cake and tea and the end of a long day of sunbathing!)
We went on a few trips to markets (and bought some great fake bags, sunglasses etc!) and also to the water park. The bus to Bodrum stops outside the hotel every 10 mins or so and you just jump on and 15 mins later you arrive in Bodrum with busy streets, markets and amazing restaurants. The chinese restaurant was an excellent alternative to the hotel one evening (a guy will approach you round the pool and they even pick you up and take you back!) Once again the service was excellent and children were very welcome.
Book your trips from the guy who runs the spa! He loves to haggle and can generally get you anything you want! The first choice prices were fixed so no fun booking through them (and they were more expensive!)
Overall a fantastic holiday and it was our first visit to Turkey and I will definitly go back to Izer Beach (although i'll book direct next time!!)

Not quite what you expect....
4 / 10
Oct 2008, Jonnot

I am not entirely sure what hotel is being reviewed below but i guess they must have set their expectations quite low.
Its certainly not a 3 or 4 star having been to a 4 star in Icemeler last year! 2 star at most.
This is due to the accomodation quality, food quality and general hygiene.
The rooms are very basic and in poor repair for a 4 star. Functional but we found our bathroom to be a rather grotty state with mould around the base of the bath and on the wall tiles. I wouldnt expect that in any hotel regardless of rating. The beds and furniture we very dated and not particulary pleasant to use.
The food seems to be on a budget and the 'meat' is mostly reconstituted or you do get the odd bit of chicken which is on the bone. The general selection is very poor and all the desserts are synthetic cream, artificial chocolate and sugar syrups. (I work in catering). Very much continental style salads and vegetable selections. The only good point was a grill outside the restaurant which provided the odd decent bit of fish or grilled chicken.
We played table tennis many times near the indoor pool and i have never seen an area with such poor hygiene. The toilets were filthy and the area around the pool was disgusting, birds had even found their way down there. The site as a whole was in much need of renovation and a good thorough clean. The spraying of rooms with insecticide during the holiday was the cherry on the cake...
Plus points if you have already booked - friendly staff, nice outdoor pool and beach, worth taking the boat trip....

Have just returned home from, with...

Aug 2008, Mr N Gardner

Have just returned home from, with some Great memorys of Izer Beach Hotel. 98% of staff Very helpfull. Though did find the house manager somewhat dull an not approachabel. To cap that, one of the party I was with caught him SNEEZING into his hands, then promptly started to move food around on a plate the was for the guests to eat. That REALLY turned my stomach. That was one the worst parts to the holiday. Getting to the hotel from the airport took as long the flight its self. Four BLOODY hrs, Seriously NOT GOOD PR for such an amazing country. Where the local people as well as locals of the village will bend over backwards to help you. (Once you have made yourself understood that is) I had some reservations with my rep also, small ones to honest but none the less. one tour that was sold to us as a 2 hour journey by coach...took nearly 4 hrs, again NOT GOOD PR. The Best tour we did was (for me anyway) the lazy boat sail. Where we sailed for a while to tie up, be led to shore where my wife an one the kids were taken on camels for a wee jont. Very well liked!! Loads of oppertunaties to go for a dive off the boat an swim about. Four times in different places in all. This was such a Good time for us all. We All Loved it. Overall. I an my family had a wonderfull time an would love to go back in the future. Lovely water meant for Great skiing. an all the other watersports there. The girls loved it too. Thank you Izer Hotel.
