Wow........Wow........Wow!!!
2 weeks at this resort has given my partner, daughter and myself the most enjoyable holiday we've ever had.
We flew from Gatwick on a Saturday. Flight was 4 hours late but all was forgotten with a 30 minute transfer once we got to Bodrum airport.
Arrived at resort and were greeted by smiling and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. I had asked in advance for our superior room to have a double bed as we were on honeymoon, and when we were shown to our room it was great that my request had been granted. Super room, basic but clean and a good bathroom with all thiungs working including a wicked shower!!
Went down to the bar area for a quick drink then back to our room where a bottle of bubbly and some fresh fruit had been left for us. A lovely touch and very impressive.
The complex is superb, 3 large outdoor pools and an indoor pool as well. All water sports powered by yourself, ie; pedalos, canoes etc are free, you pay a fee for any that are motor powered. Tennis courts, table tennis, a snooker table and organised water activities ensure there is plenty to do if you get bored with soaking up the sun.
You can eat from 7.30am until midnight in an array of restaurants/snack bars on site and drink from 10am until midnight. Local beer is good, similar to San Miguel and unlimited soft drinks for the children, as well as coffee and tea all day long.
The food is very good, but dont go along expecting traditional english food, otherwise you will be disappointed. I would say that around 10% of guests were British when we were there and the food reflects cosmopolitan tastes. It is still very good though and you can eat as much as you want for as long as you want. My partner says watch out for all the delicious cakes though! Seriously, out of 42 meals that we could have had over a 2 week period I reckon that we had between 20-25. Its so hot that all you want to eat during the day is fresh fruit, which is in abundance, and maybe some of the local snacks which they make throughout the day.
Weatherwise, in 2 weeks, we never saw a cloud in the sky. Temperatures when we arrived was high 20's hitting levels of 40 degrees. However as it is a dry heat it is nice, and I am fair skinned.
Lots for the children to do. One drawback is that the childrens club, although good, is run by a couple of Russian girls, whose English isnt too good. This was a drawback for my 7 year old who preferred swimming all day anyway!
There is a guy called Kenan who goes around the poolside every day selling excursions. Do use him as he is very good and a lot cheaper than trips organised by your holiday rep, who was one step up from useless to be honest. We booked 4 excursions with him but decided to do only 3. When we told him he arranged for us to have a full refund on the trip we didnt do. Great service! A word of warning though. If you do a boat trip, the Dalyan mudbaths or Pumakalle (Cleopatras Pool) they can be very boring for children.
The boat trip is over 5 hours and you get bored of seeing the Aegean coastline after a while as it's just rocks and forestation. the boat stops4-5 times so you can jump into the sea to cool off but apart from that its no great deal. Also, if you do a boat trip then pay the extra 20 lira a head to go all inclusive, as the drinks are 5 lira a time on board.
As regards the other 2 excursions once you are there they are superb, but it's a 4-5 hour journey each way which stops twice, and this is a very long time for adults to travel, never mind children.
All in all though, a fantastic holiday. We will be going again next year
I hope you found this review useful and if you want to know more then please feel free to e mail me.

On our arrival you will be greeted by the reception staff who are fast efficient and very friendly, you are dealt with quickly and your bags carried to your room.
The complex takes the form of apartments and is very much like a mini village, it is very pretty. The rooms have a small balcony, a very decent sized double bed, bathroom with WC sink and shower, heated towel rail, hair dryer – there are no tea and coffee facilities as these are provided throughout the day at the various bars.
The maids change the towels, bath mats and bedding every day. When we stay we never buy a safe and our valuable possessions have never been touched or moved. The hotel has good security which made us feel safe. There is a main gate to the hotel which security guards are constantly manning.
The hotel is split into two sections. The front section is on the beach. On this side of the hotel there is the main reception (open 24 hours), the main buffet restaurant (open 0700-1000, 1300-1430 and 1930-2130), roof bar (pm), indoor pool, disco (pm), kebab house (1300 - 1430 and 1930 - 2130), fish restaurant, pool bar (1000 - 0000), pool overlooking the beach. This pool was mainly where the adults resided during the day, it is lovely and quiet and you get the sea breeze here for the hotter days.
The back section of the hotel has the amphi theatre (2100 for mini disco and 2145 - 2330 for nighttime entertainment), games pool (games on all the time), pool with water slides (water slides on 1000-1730), kids pool, snack bar (1100 - 1930), italian a la carte restaurant (reservation only 1930 - 2130), tennis courts, volleyball courts and more. This section was mainly used by the families and young couples, from 10am until 6pm there is music playing and the pool slides are fantastic for young and old!
Linking the two sections of the hotel is a mini shopping centre. There is a mini supermarket, hairdressers, photo shop and a gym/turkish bath.
The beach is small but lovely & the sea is lovely and clean with fantastic views there is also a jetty with sun loungers.
The location, facilities and staff professionalism at this hotel means that it is an ideal holiday location for single people (incl women), young couples or couples with children (child safety is taken very seriously at this hotel with the security at each entrance/exit watching out for ‘wandering’ children with no parents in tow).
The restaurant has an adequate pool of staff to cater for the number of guests, the teamwork and systematic way they run the restaurant is second to none. It a well practised routine which is complimented by the fact that many of the staff return year after year (this includes Ilyas, Fatih, Hiyadet, BJ & Bedia - names spelt wrong I expect).

The food in the main restaurant took a more continental twist last season and this has been changed and improved this year, while there is not 'english breakfast or steak and chips' on the menu there is certainly enough to choose from for any picky person ... or someone with a special dietary need. In fact the only thing missing is a good cup of english tea and so we take our own tea bags when we go!!! The bar just outside the complex will provide (at a small cost) a full english or steak and chips if you are that desperate for one!!
The hotel has an adequate number of sunbeds for guests and a strict no reservation policy.
As previously mentioned many of the staff have worked at this hotel season after season, this gives you a cosy feeling of a 'family run' style hotel.
The complex on a whole is kept clean and tidy, there are adequate bins provided throughout the complex for guests to dispose of their rubbish i.e. ciggy buts, empty water bottles, sun cream bottles, newspaper etc etc.
The gardener works hard to maintain order and achieves this well.
There are several ‘specific restuarants’ in addition to the main eatery. The Italian restaurant has been run by the same person (Erdal) for several years and he has it off to a fine art. Erdal works hard to ensure that the needs of 30 to 40 people from various nationalities are completely met, considering that you are all requested to arrive at the same time he succeeds in waiting on, serving drinks and taking orders.... it really is quite something (and no I dont fancy him!!). The food is hot and freshly prepared, Erdal’s team pride themselves on giving guests a brilliant night through eating a lovely 5course meal while enjoying the scenery and a pleasant atmosphere.
The entertainment team aka ‘animation’ have also been run by the same person for several years (Gorkam) and this is reflected in the sheer perfectionalism which he applies to his work. He and his wife are lovely people who make you feel really welcome; whether you get involved with their antics or not.
There is a childrens club on site for free which is also run by Gorkam’s wife, while I do not have children every english couple I know have had nothing but praise for the staff of this facility.
Non-Engine watersports i.e canoeing & pedlos are free, however, they also offer a selection of alternative sports which are not expensive … I highly recommend parasailing to anyone!!!
In addition to everything you get from the hotel there is also a Chinese restaurant who will provide a free taxi service to and from Bodrum, here you can enjoy a meal by the sea and then take in some of Bodrum’s bars or shop til you drop before being returned to the hotel by the Chinese restaurant service. This is not a con, the food is superb and slightly cheaper than a similar restaurant in England.
Separate to this those that wish to venture to Bodrum, the bus runs on a regular basis it is £1 and it takes about 15 minutes.
All in all there is something for everyone at this hotel from the old to the young and you don’t have to wear a silly wrist band like you do at most ‘all incl’ hotels!!
Give it a go….

We stayed at izer beach for a week and had a great week.We took our 3 year old son and it was his first time abroad.Hotel was clean and staff were friendly, the entertaiment team work hard all week and could not say a bad word about them. Two reasons for not giving top marks to the hotel one bein the size of the room though we only slept there it did not cause to much of a problem but if going with older children or more than one child you can upgrade your room. And food it wasnt bad but wasnt excelllent but iam a bit of a fussy eater, recomend going into bodrum to the Hong Kong restaurant that picks you up from hotel and brings you back for free! The Italian resturant at hotel is also a break from buffet food so book your place day of arvial to get a place as it is only small. If you have already booked to stay at the hotel iam sure most people will enjoy if you are thinking about booking would only say dont book if you want somewere lively as there is not alot outside hotel and i would say the hotel suits a family wanting a quiet break were the can take there kids.Hope you have found my review helpful.

if you have been spoilt by larger complexes you may be disappointed! However the location is what its about, lovely. Hotel has 3 pools with beach 5 yards away. i Really enjoyed it here and am going back in 2009, i tried larger holiday village (seragareme) which was nice, lots on site, but too far from city or large town.

Hotel Izer Beach We arrived at Bodrum...
10 / 10
May 2008, Mr P Hill

Hotel Izer Beach
We arrived at Bodrum via Birmingham on flight TCX372K (Thomas Cook Airlines) after enduring ‘sardine’ like conditions on the four hour flight. I am 6 feet 2 inches tall and could neither sit with my knees together nor have the table down for my meal. Most people on this flight complained at these cramped conditions.
However, on arrival at Bodrum Airport we were met by our Cosmos representative and within 30 minutes were dropped off at the Hotel Izer.
The approach to the Hotel began to worry us somewhat as there was a lot of development and building going on. This did not cause any concern once we were inside our delightful hotel. We were met with very efficient staff at reception who had us in our room within five minutes. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and adequate for a holiday; TV, air conditioning, telephone and a shower that could blast you out of the bath along with hair dryer. I mentioned to the receptionist on our second day that the TV was not working very well and within five minutes it was repaired and up came 14 channels including BBC, in English of course.
The Hotel has two outdoor pools with one especially for children with two large waterslides and one for adults with a section for children, the latter one overlooking the sea and 10 yards from a small sandy beach. I will mention here that the sandy beach changes to pebbles once in the water but access to the sea for swimming can also be via two sets of steps on the Izer’s private pier (also used for sunbathing) or just wear shoes for going into the water. There are free pedalos and canoes and a large array of motorised water sports to choose from at a reasonable cost.
The Hotel has a number of bars which open at different times according to day/night and each had excellent service with free local drinks and a selection of imported drinks at a charge. Unlimited self service of fruit juices and tea/coffee was also available at each bar.
Inside the main restaurant there were hot/cold meals for breakfast, around 14 or so choices of meals for lunch and evening with a BBQ outside. Although there could be a rush for the evening meals there was always plenty of room both inside and out and a never ending supply of food. We used to arrive at 8.00 clock and always found a table. After our first day, our waiter, Iliyas, always had our glasses of wine ready as we sat down and these were topped up that quickly we had to say no after the first four or five glasses. Nothing was too much trouble and dirty plates were removed as soon as the last mouthful was taken. Management were always in the background and they kept their eye on the smooth running of the Hotel. The food was excellent and very tasty. Remember though, you are in a foreign country and tastes differ. If you want a McDonalds every night stay at home. I was told by some people who have been there for the last three years that the food has improved a great deal from two years ago and I understand that the hotel is now under new management.
The Animation Team were something else with more energy than anyone I had ever met. After a shy start, we were soon joining in with the evening shows. Great nights not to be missed. If you said No when asked if you wanted to join in, this was received with lovely smiles and no insistence. Everyone at the Hotel was always smiling and very, very friendly. Watch out for Ouzi. She is always trying to get you involved.
There is not much outside of the Hotel but every half hour a little yellow minibus (The Dolmus) called at the main gate to take you into Bodrum. This was 2 Lira each way (approx £0.80. This bus dropped you at the Terminus in Bodrum and it was a short walk through the shop lined streets to the harbour and the castle. The bus left Bodrum every half hour back to the entrance of the hotel so do not miss this way of travel. It is very easy. We went twice during our 7 day holiday.
While we were there we did do the Ephesus trip on the Wednesday and this was very interesting but beware that the tour takes three hours and it can get very hot with no shade. We also did the Jeep Safari which took us into the mountains to see the ‘real’ Turkey. Again, a very interesting and informative adventure.
Would we go again? Most certainly, but I prefer the early season as it can get up to 40-45 degrees in July/August.
A great hotel for Children and adults with exceptional staff and excellent food.

My in laws have just returned from a...
3 / 10
Nov 2007, Mrs T Ainsworth

My in laws have just returned from a holiday at this hotel and have had the most disastrous holiday.
My mother in law, who I have never heard complain in her life, broke down in tears as she recalled the events of her two week stay here.
They were advised that this was a four star all inclusive resort. What they received was closer to two star. Dirty rooms. Non working shower. Cats everywhere. Poor quality cold food etc. They weren't expecting it to be spot on as they were well aware that it was almost the end of the season. They also paid a relatively small amount for their stay.
However, this does not excuse a hotel to allow its guests to stay in dirty, poor quality accommodation, remove all but the exact number of sun beds, close half the hotel and restaurants, have the cats that children had made friends with snatched from their arms and taken to be killed.
I could not understand how they chose this holiday in the first place until I looked at the previous reviews given on this site.
As an example that I am not against Turkey as a holiday resort, I too had my first holiday in Turkey this year in August. That was in Didum Beach near Altinkum. Five star resort, again all inclusive. My own holiday couldn't have been more different. Of course it was peak season and a higher class hotel, but the comparison between the two holidays in almost incomprehendable. I booked my holiday off the internet and did my own research on the location and quality of the hotel.
I would love to visit Turkey again, whereas sadly, my in-laws have been put off for life.
My final comments must go to First Choice that having given poor quality reviews were to blame for them booking this holiday in the first place.
To the managers of the hotel, I would like to point out that this has obviously done you no favours and you perhaps do not realise that word of mouth is the best advertising in the world.

Just back from here and had a really...
8 / 10
Sep 2007, sapphire

Just back from here and had a really chilled sun holiday. I went with my 2 kids leaving hubby at home to work and I felt safe at all times in the hotel. Torba itself, well I can not really say much as there not really any where out of the hotel you can walk.
A friend of mine walked to the harbour but said there was not much to look at. You can take the Dolmus which is a little yellow bus into Bodrum. It comes every half a hour and is yellow for Torba so make sure you get a yellow one back. It’s like a big scooby doo bus and the air-con is a open window but it’s ok really. 5 lira for 3 of us and 17 lira in a taxi.
I must say Bodrum is not one of my places I will be returning to in a hurry. The Turkish town people are so in your face and can be very rude and a little intimidating to both adults and children.
The hotel has sort of two parts, a top part with a snack bar, 2 pools, 2 slides and a evening theatre for entertainment. Also mainly English and French folk oh yeah and some English kids that have left their manners in England.
The second part past the shops and reception has been the superior part and also having 2 pools and a small kiddie slide.
This is where the main restaurant is and another bar is, also the only one that is open at night. This part leads onto the beach and seams to have more Germans than English. It seams some of the older end have left their manners at home too.
The staff at this bar were not as smiley as the other bar.
This side leads onto the beach. The beach is very stoney and walking into the sea does hurt your feet so my daughter said. I had swim shoes on which were un cool but soon on her feet instead of mine. They have a big boat that belongs to the hotel and when it’s at the end of the pier it make the water full of oil and dirt. My son jumped of the pier before I saw this and now has a perforated ear due to a serve ear infection. It could have been the pool but these are lovely and clean and nobody else seamed to suffer from the pool.
They have lots of water sports here to keep the teenager end happy at a price. They do have a free canoe and pedloe which my 8 yr old liked.
At night the pools and Pier are all lit up and also parts of the grounds have different coloured lights, its looks very nice. There is a roof top bar, which was not opened when we went, but may be it had a different time to open. Lots of nice photo from here. Speaking of photo's they have a man who take them all the time and you can buy them from the shop, great photos. Not sure of his name as we could not pronounce it for laughing and named him Rachel. He was such a sweet guy and naturally funny as were most of the staff. I was told by our rep that they are village Turks and their English is not as clear as the city Turks but their great manners and smiles out weighed this.
Food---Well my friends who are beef Yorkshire pudding folk did not rate the food but I loved it. There is lots of colour, spices and lots of different flavours. I ate things I never thought I would. I travel a lot but this was a real taste of culture. The snack bar through the day at the top pool opened for drinks then a late breakfast at 11.00 (but only basic). Then at night turned into an Italian restaurant. You could book this once a week same as the Kebab and fish restaurant. Arkin works here and has a the biggest smile ever please say hello from us.
All in all this was a great week to spend chilling in the sun. The pools were great and the people lovely. The rooms were just big enough for 3 and had a shower, fridge, hairdryer and small wardrobe with 3 shelf’s. Also a safe was in the room and cost 28 lira for the week. We did leave the digi camera out a few times and nothing was ever taken. The maids came every day and it was lovely and clean. Great place to relax and get some sun.
My top tips would have to be...
There is a chemist open on a Sunday, look at the others and it will tell you where it is. Go to the boats at the castle end you will see a moss. Walk along the front and you will come to another moss. Cross the road and it’s up the small street facing.
Do not get out the hotel Doctor unless you’re rich. A guy paid £80 English pounds for 2 lots of antibiotics. I paid 2 lira for one.
The parrot in the reception is called Joyce and likes to wolf whistle.
Air-con is brilliant but don't put it on 24 degree like my friend did, she also opened the window and got ate alive by the mossies.
The guy in the shop blows up sun beds even when brought from home.
Lots of after sun needed and we hope you have a great time...we did.

I felt this was a 'poor man's' all...
5 / 10
Aug 2007, Mrs A Wightman

I felt this was a 'poor man's' all inclusive deal as the hotel cut so many corners and sacrificed quality and value in a lot of areas by doing so. The buffet restaurant provided a good choice of Turkish style food, but it was repeated too much and even food like aubergines, peppers and salads which we loved at first we couldn't face day after day of the same. Also in the restaurant you had to ask the waiter for a glass of bottled water, and you weren't allowed to take the bottle back to your table - instead you had to track down a waiter every time you wanted a refill, which in 40oc heat you need. After paying up front for everything a bottle of water was trivial to be allowed!!!!
The bar service is another matter, poor choice of drinks included - beer, wine (very poor), 3 spirits or soft drinks basically - no cocktails, bottles of decent wine or more spirits on offer. The bar staff will happily ignore you and go on to serve fellow Turks or young girls without boyfriends. We were told that one barman shook his tip box at our English friends and told them 'if you put money in here I will serve you' - that really annoyed me, so if you go to the bar be assertive and clear about what you want or you will find yourself waiting up to 20 mins... no joke.
The hotel does not have enough sunbeds to cater for all of its guests basically - whether you choose to sit at the noisy pool by the water-slides, the quiet pool near the beach or on the beach itself you must set your alarm clock and go down to get one at 7am every morning - as by 8am they are all taken, and there is nowhere else to sit outside for the rest of the day, as everything is based in the complex.
The rooms are very small but clean, housekeeping and restaurant staff very polite - bar staff rude and very arrogant. The rep was not helpful to our one request but was there if you wanted her. Evening entertainment was made by staff.... could have done with bringing in some external shows for guests to enjoy - a lot of the shows in the amphitheatre put on by staff were a bit below the belt for children to be watching.
Overall we made the most of our time here, but we have had far better quality and service for much less money elsewhere in the past. I hope this has helped you.

We stayed for 2 weeks and I can honestly say we had the best holiday ever.
Rooms were immaculate, food was wonderful and plenty of it. Staff were amazing and so welcoming and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us.
Restaurant was spotless and had a wide variety of food choices suitable for all.
Entertainment team tried so hard to involve everyone and we had brilliant fun.
My 5 year old son Nathan loved this hotel and we are definitely going back next year. Kids club was great to give us a rest for a couple of hours.
The hotel has security 24 hours per day and we felt so safe.
Can't praise this hotel and all staff enough!

We have no hesitation in recommending...
10 / 10
May 2007, Mr Robert Rae

We have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel.
We chose Izer beach hoping it would have good food, easy access to the beach, suit an 88 year old parent and provide a base for exploring Bodrum and the surrounding peninsula with activities to suit all.
We were not disappointed.
The sandy beach was about 10 steps from the hotel pool. Small cottage like rooms were on ground level or up on flight of stairs and surrounded by plants and flowers.
You could watch jays, swallows and other interesting species of birds without leaving your room. There is a minibus to Bodrum every 20 minutes at a cost of not much more than a pound.
The food was wonderful.
We eat in the main restaurant mostly out of doors choosing from a huge range of Turkish dishes, which could be divided into:
1. Wonderful Turkish soups
2 Pick and mix Starters and salads,
3 a cold platter table
4 a selection of about 6 - 10 hot dishes
5 a fantastic range of bread.
6 sweets made up from a choice of about a dozen delicious Turkish delicacies.
Despite the huge range there were new dishes every day. On at least one day of the week there were goslema or Turkish pancakes which are not to be missed.
If you are really un-adventurish and want to have standard British food it was possible to do this too: only you have to look around a bit. Cereals boiled or fried eggs and omelettes were available for breakfast.
If you can’t manage without bacon and bangers you would need to have the English breakfast from the a la cart restaurant where you can also find pizzas.
If you want it (and I admit I couldn't resist them) there were chips with everything.
Perhaps this is a new feature, or perhaps other reviewers just missed them amongst the overwhelming choice. If you found empty trays you only had to return in a few minutes.
Local beer, wine, and fruit juices were virtually on tap till midnight at some location.
The staff are wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, Delighted to help you in any way. Willing to encourage you to master some Turkish phrases. They are able to help you in English French or German.
Kenan in reception has a great command of English and was only too willing to help or advise you.
On our second last day my mother took fairly seriously ill and was not at all able to do anything. The hotel nurse visited ever couple of hours and a doctor attended later in the day. She made a very remarkable recovery and was able to fly home, as planned, the next day to continue convalescing.
Other impressions:
If on site entertainment is what you want there is a wonderfully energetic team dedicated to making sure you have a good time. Remarkably you can find a quiet corner and opt to swim relax or arrange your own trip.
The hotel or your tour operator offer a number of excursions but If you want to arrange your own trips or try to get a better deal, Margaret Tours are 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Ali can arrange everything, in any currency and is open to negotiation.
If you enjoy the friendly Turkish style of price bargaining you should visit the market at Turgetreis, But if this threatens you the hotel shop is very competitive in its pricing and will encourage you to haggle on a "what if I buy two pairs" basis.
Overall if you are looking for sun sea friendly Turkish people interesting food and a holiday with a mixture of relaxation, water sports or activities for all ages. In a quiet village but only 10 or 15 minutes from the major tourist centre of Bodrum you should look no further.

We have been to this hotel twice and...
10 / 10
Feb 2007, marhys

We have been to this hotel twice and can honestly say we have not had any problems whatsoever and would definitely go back for a 3rd visit.
The hotel is situated right on the beach, the village is a lovely 10min stroll along the beach promenade. Bodrum is only a 10-15 min dolmus ride away too. Another plus is the airport transfer, only 30mins!
There are 2 pools, one quiet and one lively, both have plenty of sunloungers. The lively pool had music and lots of entertainment going on during the day, the quiet one is by the beach so great for all the watersports.
There is a great choice of food, if you are a 'chips with everything' person you won't like it. There is an Italian restaurant, buffet, Turkish and fish restaurant. We went most nights to the buffet restaurant as the food ranged from potato salad through to braised lamb.
They had theme nights where the food was excellent. Our son always managed to find something that he liked. With not a 'chip' in sight' we really felt like we were in Turkey and not a 'Costa del Tenerife' resort.
The rooms near the beach are the 'superior' ones, although basic they were very clean. Our room had a fridge which was handy. There are also a couple of shops and once a fortnight a small market sets up within the hotel grounds.
Be careful when it comes to the camel rides though! We were told one price and then charged another!
The staff were really helpful and always smiling! Our son is accident prone and had an accident, the staff got the hotel doctor and were excellent. We also needed to keep our room on, as we had horrific flight times, it was not a problem (we paid approx £15 ).
We never bothered with the kids club as our son found other kids to play with and keep entertained.
If you like lovely, friendly, helpful staff, not frightened to eat the local food and are not keen on the hustle and bustle of large resorts... try the Izer Beach Hotel and Torba.
