This was my first visit to Kos and did not know what to expect, but the place where we stayed - great location.
The location of the hotel itself was really good, centre of all main attractions i.e. beach, shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Which is very useful if you like to get out of the hotel during the night as we did. Great for the kids, plenty things to keep them entertained. Also there is things to keep anyone of any age entertained. SO great location for the hotel.
The hotel itself was great, looked so nice. The rooms were always kept clean, and staff all helpful and kind and friendly, so thanks to them for making the hotel experience as enjoyable as I enjoyed it ^_^.

I have just got back from the Ideal apts in Lambi Kos. It was really good. When we first got there it seemed we were in the middle of nowhere but after a walk we found Lambi had a few bars and loads of restaurants.
These hotels are situated on a main road but it’s really quite opposite farm land. The main resort and beach of Lambi is about 15mins down this road and Kos town is a further 10 mins.
The walk however, is a pleasant one. We hired bikes and it made the journey a lot quicker.
There is a bus stop rite outside the hotel which is really easy to use and takes about 5/10mins to take u into Kos town and it only costs 90cent a lot cheaper than taxis they run every half hour and the last one is about 1am.
This resort is mainly families and couples me and my partner are 20 and 25 and it was ideal for us as you can have the hustle and bustle of the major town or just a quite night at a restaurant. If you do go to Kos town try and find a restaurant called Select it’s on bar street it is the nicest restaurant in one of the best settings and the staff are so friendly.
The apartments are basic and don’t have air conditioning but they are family run and they are so helpful and friendly. The picture on Olympic is rubbish and they do look a lot nicer.
They have entertainment on every other night and its good fun. The aussie bbq at a hotel called Alice Springs (which is further down the main road near the beach) is a really good night probably one of the best nights we had.
We can’t wait to go back next year. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

We chose the Ideal because it had received many favourable reports on review websites.
Our studio was of a good size with a balcony. By going in June, everything is freshly painted and the spring flowers are out. A large and small cooking ring are provided and there is basic crockery, utensils, a fridge and cooker.
We asked to move room after arrival and also had our fridge replaced, so the staff do look after you. The cleaner is friendly, although towels could be changed more than twice a week.
The pool is of a good size and there is a snack bar, which we used on our first night.
There is entertainment several nights a week but sometimes it is not well-attended.
There were some inconsiderate late drinkers on a couple of nights outside the apartments, which we feel the staff should have dealt with.
The apartments are about 10 minutes’ walk to Lambi down a shady tree-lined road. Lambi is a bit run down, but is a good location for exploring the island. There are several good tavernas such as Angelina’s, Sunset, Pegasus and Istros.
The number 2 bus goes from outside the apartments into the centre of Kos Town and there are lots of good tavernas there, especially in the Old Town.
We hired bikes for a day and cycled to Tingaki, which is a much nicer resort. We hired a car for three days, which is well worth it (much cheaper from a local car hire company). It’s worth visiting Zia and Pyli in the mountains and Kefalos (we wouldn’t bother with Kardamena).
We drove to the harbour in Mastachari and caught the 9.00 ferry to Pothia in Kalymnos (about 45 minutes), which is beautiful. The only other boats trips available are from Kos Town to three islands, which were full days with lunch and swimming stops.
We booked a day trip to Bodrum with a local agent rather than at Kos Town harbour and this included a coach pickup and return as well as a free tour around Bodrum – much better value.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday.

Went for 1 week of sun and to relax. Apts basic as per standard in Greek isles.
Set a little way outside of Kos old town and harbour. Lots of people hired bicycles to visit various beaches and old town etc. quite cheap too.10/12 euro pw.
Nice pool with bar / cafe and snacks, reasonably priced.
Don’t go if you are looking for a rave up. It’s a quiet place great to relax and explore island from.
Family run and nice friendly people, they also have a decent quality restaurant a little down the main path. This was not the cheapest place to eat (not overpriced either) But found it to serve really nice food well presented, poss the best I had in the 1 week I stayed there.
The only place I found that did not serve chips with everything. Spot on.
English lad worked in bar and cafe, Went by the name of Burger, Friendly lad and helpful.
I was lucky to meet some fantastic people there, (Tina, Lorraine, Rachel, Stuart etc etc.) It is that sort of place.

Apartments were clean but basic. The staff were all friendly. This is a great place for families, all the children made friends and had a great laugh together. Decent sized pool which was clean (and not too cold!).
About a 15 minute walk into the centre where there were some lovely bars and restaurants. Go to Angelino's (think that’s what its called) he was very friendly and gave the children lots of free treats. All the food we ate was delicious, can't complain about anything really!

I had a great holiday when I visited the Ideal Apartments. All of the staff were very friendly and the location was great, as it was out of the town and you didn't hear all of the noise and traffic. They also done events at night such as a race night, karaoke, and a traditional Greek night, where you can get up and dance, only if you want to though, nobody will force you.
The pool is great and it is never too cold, it has a pool table satellite T.V in the bar where they serve good food and drink.
You can also get food from the shop just across the road, it has great seats out the front where you can relax in the sun, but everywhere is sunny, so you won't miss out on a tan. I would recommend this place to families, more than anyone else because you are guaranteed an amazing holiday, with everything, apart from the town, just a stones throw away!!

Didn’t actually stay there but in hotel next door. Liked the look of them so went round to take a closer look. Family owned, who were all very friendly and were only too willing to show us inside one of their apartments. Basic but clean with separate kitchen, which is an improvement on staring at a sink from the bed. We had a breakfast and a couple of meals there, and spent the day by the pool. Nice bar area with large TV and satellite, entertainment was put on several times a week, which was more than can be said for the hotel we were in. Family all spoke good English, son is a Liverpool supporter unfortunately but somebody has to be. Situated in the Lambi or Lampi area of Kos about a mile and a half from the town. The beach is fairly close by with shops restaurants and bars not too far away about a 15 minute walk all on the flat. The bus stops outside to go into Kos town and runs fairly frequently. Met a couple that had been there for there holidays for the past 5 years. On the whole nice apartments set in a well maintained garden.

Overall a great place to stay. We did some research about the Ideal Apartments and most of the review seemed positive.
The apartments are split in to two blocks, a newer block and an older block. We were in the new block and it was very nice. Typically Greek self-catering, a fridge, a kettle and two hot plates and that’s your lot, but eating out is very cheap anyway. We were told that the older block wasn’t quite as good so maybe if we had stayed there we might not have been as happy, but that was just a general observation by one couple we spoke to.
The family that own the apartments are lovely, they are really helpful and seem very keen to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. A small complaint would be the price of drinks and food at the apartments, a large draught Mythos is €3, which is the same or more than the equivalent at the expensive harbour bars in Kos town. And kids drinks are all €1.50 for cans of Coke, cartons of Orange, etc. Again, the same cost as the bars. Obviously there are numerous local supermarkets where stuff is much cheaper.
The distance to Kos town is about a 30 minute walk (with a seven year old and 2 year old) we used to walk in and get the city bus out (€1.80 for the family) which drops you right back at the apartments. There are numerous restaurants en route ranging from incredibly good value and homely (opposite the fire station - Tambelas Taverna) to the more expensive but still keeping a 3-course meal with drinks for the family to around the €40 mark. We can strongly recommend the Oasis Restaurant (Out of the apartments, turn left follow the road to the cross roads with the main road to Kos) they were great with the kids and the food was really good.
Only complaint with the food was the tendency for almost all the restaurants to 'anglicise' the food with chips, tinned carrots, etc. We struggled to find authentic Greek food other than the ubiquitous Greek salad.
Overall though a great two weeks, there is loads to do, the apartments are very good and we would definitely go back.

Run down apartments in a dreary area. Hotel states in brochure 'entertainment in peak season' but doesn't happen in 2 weeks in August - not one night of entertainment.
Kitchen area in apartments dirty and pillows on bed stained.
Pool side bar ok and gardens very well maintained but whole complex is soul-less. 20 minute walk to nearest mini shop 30 minute walk to decent size supermarket. Local beaches the worst ever with litter in abundance.
My advice pay a bit more. The only plus point was the daily inter-action with the cleaner whose personality far exceeds the hotels.
