With Haraki in Rhodes, wherever you go, the apartments are basic. Lets face it. You go there to get in the sun. Not vegetate in your apartments all day!
It will be my 16th time going this year and I love it!
If your out for a relaxing holiday, good weather, good beaches, fantastic food and amazing people, then this really is your best bet!

Me and my girlfriend decided to book for mid august for a week, we didn't pay over the odds so we didn't expect excellent five star accomodation but expected at least a habitable room for a week.
We arrived at the room at 5 o clock on a sunday morning greeted by loud music and slamming of doors which was frustarting after our long journey, also the room was so hot that we could not get to sleep, this all spoilt our first day in Haraki. 50 Euros for air conditioning was a total rip off as it just produces warm air, and neither does the mini fan at 3 euros a day.
Our room was cleaned once in the whole week and we had to keep ontop of it ourselves more that the maid did.
I find this disgusting as anywhere else i have been my room was cleaned at least after 2 days, i would not reccomend this accomodation and would urge you to pay that bit more for SUITABLE accomodation. Also the kitchen utensils did not match and looked like they had been thrown together by bits they had found and no room whatsoever to prepare food.
As for Haraki itself, it is a beautiful unspoilt village with lots of freindly locals and an excellent beach about 20 mins walk, expect alot of greeks on holiday here and some british.

RUBBISH!

right im 16 years old and have been holidaying in haraki since i was like 6, i go every year and LOVE IT. we have worked our way round most of the apartments and decided to try out the angela apartments for the first time, here is our story..
we arrived and got told where angela was, and the rep just left us there, he didnt show us to our room, he just took us to angela and said your rooms number .. up there, and pointed and walked off..we soon realised that our room was on the top floor and the stiars to our room were very steap and twisty. we have stayed at top rooms many times before and we have never seen stairs like that!. my mum is affraid of hights and she could not stay in the appartment with us, so when another olympic rep came my mum asked her to contact our rep and see what could be done.. as we had paid for the room me and my friend decided to stay on at the top room in angela and just let my mum move.
the room we were staying in was tiny. i could not believe that room was made for 3 people, we walked in and there was beds, a off the side bathroom and that was it, we could hardly fit a suitcase on the floor, let alone 3.
my mum later spoke to the rep who told her there was nothing he could do, like it or lump it. so our whole first day we spent looking for another room for my mum.. we soon found one and she had to pay like 200 euro for 3 nights.
the rep soon told us that he had arranged for us to stay on the bottom floor, me and my friend moved in first and we thought it was amazing, so big and it was like a propper apartment rather than a square room.
well this is where our main problems began...
we found mould in the fridge/ freezer..
the night was getting on and we had just come off the beach and i decided to start to get ready to go out, so i went in for a shower and the water was freeezing, and the power of the shower was forcing the shower holder to wobble around, so i decided it was impossible to have a shower or atleast try to there so i went and sho and when i looked down at the grid that collects the water, i noticed loads of worm type bugs were coming out, so i ran and decided to shwer on the beach, and forget about the fact that everyone was watching me shave my legs and wash my hair..
while i was showering my mum sat on the front and had a chat with our new neighbours to be on the bottom floor and they told us not to unpack and keep everything locked up because of the cockroaches.. we thought that was ok as we were in greece and there may be some about..
that night we went out and me and my friend decided we wanted to stay up all night on our suitcases in the middle of the room so if one ran out we could like run out of the place and sleep on the beach.. we came in at like 1 in the morning and before we knew it there was like 4/5 walking across our floor, well that was it! me and my friend ran out in tears and decided to walk up to the pool bar (alla1) and ask if pavlo had any rooms as i know lots of people from greece and thought he might have a room.. luckily for us he did, so i left my friend there and i rang my greeek friend who picked me up on his scooter and took me to get my mum out of the room as she was stuck and couldnt move..
when we all arrived to the pool bar we had to wait till 6 in the morning till we could get in our room wich we didnt mind as we knew it would be clean..
then one day i was in the bar and the owner of angela started to shout at me and tell me that the cockraoches are pets and i should stroke them.. and that i had brought the mould and that it was my fault that the shower didnt work and i didnt like the room and basically it was all me. the woman who was staying next door to us had left and was planning on complaining and the new neighbour of ours thought that we were fighting soon to find out that it was the owner and us.
never ever staying there again, and as for the olympic rep.. thick as two short planks!!.

Rip Off Holiday
1 / 10
Aug 2009, H Waters

Having been to Haraki a number of years now, and have made many friends out there. I was appalled at the accommodation I booked this year through Olympic Holidays Angela studios. There was nine us in our party we had rooms 5,6,7, and 8. On booking I was told there would be air conditioning in the rooms but only room 5 had it because it overlooked the hallway no natural light yet alone an inland view. Room 6 was a little better though small but only a fan which was 3 euros a day. Well as for the two ground floor apartments 7 and 8 where myself and my two daughters stayed were awful. My daughter room had a rusted out fridge freezer which leaked water all over the floor and was infested with cockroaches inside and underneath which came out at night in their thousands, the shower was designed for dwarfs because the stairwell went up through the bathroom. Again only a fan to help with the heat but again had to wait two days for a replacement because one stopped working but still had to pay for use. Their view was of a wall and the smell of the sewage drain. As for our room number 8 My wife and I had to endure 3 nights of sewage in the bathroom, was told the owner would sort smell out and clean the offensive drain which was in our bathroom but never turned up until Saturday this was 3 days later after telling the rep on our first day about smell phoning the so called emergency number on the second night and was hung up on, third day phoned office number and was finally sorted out but was told we could not be moved because everywhere was fully booked and it would be at our expense. The cookers in all the apartments were just two rings and if lucky a frying pan and the utensils were basic. Also for everything you used there was a price attached to it so be warned I don't mind paying for air conditioning but 3 euros a day for a fan which was rubbish then having to pay to keep the room on for a couple of hours until departure, it was all one big rip off. Its such a shame because the resort itself is lovely and the people you meet are great but Angela studios spoilt what should of been a brilliant holiday.

Poor accommodation

The holiday was booked September 2008 for two couples(Both couples in their 70s)Stated on the booking form "Inland view".Arrived 0430 and allocated rooms 2 and 5.Rooms both had windows looking at a corridor wall one metre from the door and window so no air flow into the room. Ventilation in toilet was a small hole about about eight feet up the wall. Both couples told the Olympic Rep the rooms were not acceptible. Rep stated resort was fully booked and no other accommodation available. We could possibly be moved to another resort AT OUR EXPENSE. The rooms were over 30 degrees C at times. Air conditioning was available at 50 euros a week. Visit and phone calls to rep and his boss in Rhodes Office, a fax to London Office and eventually agreed to provide free airconditioning, but had four days of purgatory. It appears that Olympic show inland view on the booking forms. If you have inland view you expect it. If you have a sea view lucky, but a wall? Other holiday makers and locals all aware of the problems at Angela Studios. What a pity Olympic Holidays are not(Or are they?)
The resort is great, the beach is great, The locals are very helpful and friendly, super tavernas. The holiday was sadly let down by the apalling accommodation

I went on holiday with my parents and...

Aug 2008, Miss D Meakin

I went on holiday with my parents and as the apartments do not hold more than 2 people we had 2 apartments as there was my younger sister aswell, my parents had the sea view ( which is the only reason i am rating this at a 4). The balcony was small and so was the bathroom.
Me and my sister had the middle apartment, which was like being in a boiler room!! There were no windows and no air conditioning and as you can imagine in august the temperature was very high (nor did the fans work as no frsh air was going around the room). As for the bathroom in the middle apartment...you have to be a stick to get in these.
I was very disappointed that no air conditioning was fitted in that apartment, i wouldn't have let a dog sleep in that room. All i can say is if you are going to stay in this block of apartments then stay in the sea view room or the back room ( and if you do stay in the back room then keep the patio doors locked during the night as people can get in).
Haraki itself though is an unspoilt gem and i have been back time and time again, my preference would be the Haraki village apartments, especially for a family of four.

Haraki is a very nice, quiet and beautiful resort. We stayed for 1 week in Angela studios in a sea view room in the first floor. Everything was amazing! The room had the best view to the sea and the beach right infront of you!The room was comfy, clean and provided all the necessary for our accomodation. To be honest we bought a great holiday deal from olympic holidays and the room satisfied our expectations.

I am putting these comments down for...

I am putting these comments down for my 70+ year old mother and her partner who had the misfortune to stay in the basement accomodation at Angela studios. The "experience" I wont use the words Holiday was booked with Olympic. Although they paid TOP money for self catering and have many years experience of travelling around the Greek Islands, they were horrified with the HOVEL they were told was their apartment... it was dank, dingy, poorly equipped and dirty and looked like a converted storage area, it was below ground with the only view of a car workshop and bin storage area.
The dirty mattress had towels covering holes in the cover, the kitchen consisted of a hand painted rusty and very noisy fridge, a leaky sink and a cooker that only had two working cooking elements and the utensils were all antique oddments and the pans were all food engrained frying pans. The shower was built under one of the many stairwells and would not accommodate anyone bigger than a circus dwarf, on complaining to the Hotel management they were offered a swap.
BUT ... Olympic would not allow it! in fact other tourists on their package who had swapped the previous night were forced back to their original accomodation! SHAME ON YOU OLYMPIC PUTTING PROFIT BEFORE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SHAME ON YOU ANGELA STUDIOS (but at least you recognised your failings) ... a very angry and unhappy Olympic customer.

Even we had a lot of complaints for the travel agency we were offered a great accommodation in Angela studios. It included a sea view twin room, very comfy, with air-conditioning and very clean w.c. -shower and all the basics for the kitchen. The room was very clean and the owners very welcome and friendly.
For our budget the accommodation was excellent and we are thinking of going to Haraki again. We will not experiment ,for sure, with other accommodation so we will choose 'Angela' again!!!

We stayed in the first floor inland facing studio.
The outside steps to the studio were a concrete spiral with a huge step up from the road and very narrow to get the suitcases up. The room itself was a fair size but the problem was the narrow toilet/shower room. If booking this room I would advise you take blue tack to stick the toilet lid to the cistern, as there was such limited space to move, unless you are extremely thin.
The kitchen facilities were very basic, not even a bread board or sharp knife were provided and only a very small frying pan and a huge pasta pot to cook in on two rings, no toaster just a kettle. Air conditioning was 6euro a day or a fan for 2euro a day. The outlook from the balcony was across fields to the mountains and was nice for bird watching and quiet. Haraki itself is a lovely resort.
A good choice of restaurants and bars and very friendly people. I am sure we will return but probably not to the Angela studios.
