Falcon Cottage Hotel

When I arrived at Falcon Cottage I was very tired so I did not get to see or do very much other than eat and shower then go to bed. The next morning felt like I was in a different world. The sounds were fantastic and even the smell in the air was very distinctive.
The hotel staff were very friendly and in particular a young woman by the name of Peggy, she was very welcoming.
My main reason for going to Jamaica was to visit my grandmother and that may not have been possible if I had not enlisted the help of the hotel's taxi driver Marlon. He was very pleasant and very honest young man and one of the safest drivers you could ever wish to meet.
The room was very clean and the food provided was good. The 7 mile beach was another story. For every mile I walked, every man I came across wanted to marry me. In the beginning it was quite amusing, but after a while it did become very annoying and at times I did have to firmly ask to be left alone. On the whole Jamaican people are very friendly and welcoming.
Jamaica does have a lot to offer. Rick’s cafe was a sight to behold, watching people cliff dive, taking part in snorkelling, going on mini cruises, or just lying on the beach from morning til night, (sand flies permitting). Jamaica is the place to be and I would definitely visit that Westmoreland Resort again.

Myself and 3 friends (all young women) visited Falcon Cottages at the end of June for 2 weeks. We found the cottages to be basic but clean.
Pool was a little dirty, and didn't seem to be cleaned very often, but there were plenty of sunbeds, and for the first week we had the poolside to ourselves. Admittedly the pool is not child friendly, as there is no shallow end. However there is a free bus to the beach (beware the beach bar that it takes you too can get very expensive if you are there all day) although you don't have to stay at the one bar, we wondered along the beach. The last couple of days we went and used the pool at another Airtours resort called fun holiday (on the beach), the pool was a lot cleaner and even had a hot tube. All they ask is that you buy drinks from the bar- Which are very reasonably priced, along with the food.
Food- The food at the resort is ok, nothing special, but is well priced, and don't miss happy hour at the bar between 5-7, 2for1 on cocktails! Beware though, service for food is a little slow.
When I found out about the trouble that the hotel had a few years back I started to worry, but honestly there was nothing to worry about. Security is good, and everyone is really friendly. Sixteen is the taxi driver, he quotes good prices for trips out, it works out a little less than what Airtours offers and he will stop wherever u want to take pictures and stuff.
Overall for the money that you will be paying for this resort, it is very good, it has a great location in between the beach and the cliffs, and is a 10 minute walk the negrils town centre.

We went to Jamaica to be married with no prior arrangements before arriving. When we told the owners and staff the purpose of our visit they couldn’t have done any more for us in relation to finding a location, photographers somewhere for a meal etc. This was exactly the way we had dreamed it.
While the hotel is basic the people are amazing .we have been to a lot of so called superior resorts and countries but for us the people and the island made it for us the holiday of a life time.
All the nonsense you hear about it being too dangerous to leave your hotel etc. Is utter rubbish. We mixed freely with the locals at reggae nights and strolled the beach at night without ever once encountering any bother.
We would highly recommend falcon cottages to anybody thinking of going to Jamaica, just relax, chill out and be as one with these amazing people ... ONE LOVE.

I enjoyed my stay at the falcon cottage, the rooms were clean and the staff pleasant. My main problem with the resort is that it was substantially further away from the beach than the rest of the hotels in Negril and not ideal for those who don’t like walking.
The food was nice, the pool was very small, I didn’t use it all.

Although I held a room at Falcon cottage for 2 weeks my main purpose for visiting Jamaica was to see family in other parts of the country, Falcon cottage was very reasonably priced and served as a comfortable base to explore the island from. The excursions that Airtours ran were good value for money also.
If I come back to Negril I will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed this holiday. Jamaica and its people are amazing. The famous 7 mile beach is incredible with its white sands and warm, clear blue sea. This resort was good for all ages wanting a relaxing care free holiday.
When we arrived we were a little disappointed as the room was very small, however we requested to be moved and we were in a much larger room in a matter of minutes. The room was cleaned everyday and the maids changed the beds every other day.
The pool was not the best. It was quite small and not very clean but it was liveable.
The restaurant was ok. The staff were all very helpful and make you feel at home.
The Jamaican people were fantastic. They will do anything to help you and don't expect money for it. You get the odd person that gets a little pushy on the streets but a firm 'NO THANK YOU' tends to do the trick.
If you go all inclusive you are told that it is dangerous to go out of your hotel. This is NOT true!! It is perfectly safe.
Dunns River Falls is a must. From Negril its self it takes 4hours, on a air conditioned coach, to get to the falls but it is well worth it. (take a water proof camera then you can take pictures whilst going up the falls).
All in all this was the best holiday I have ever been on. We met some lovely people that we have kept in touch with. I would recommend this resort to anybody.
