Castillo Del Sol Apartments

This was our second time in Gran Canaria and it was by the far the best holiday I have ever been on. Everybody was fantastic.
The room was very nice (not so tidy by the time we had finished though). we spent hardly any time in the hotel though so I don't know about entertainment or food. But we did eat dinner in the hotel restaurant one night and it was the best meal we had all holiday.
Anybody who goes should definitely visit SNOOPY disco bar in the centre (and tell them NORTHAMPTON (Lesley, Jodie Marsh and Fiona) said hi!!!)

This was my 3rd time to Puerto Rico with my wife Margaret, our party was 16 in total who love it this was our first time at the Castillo and we will be back . Domingo was a great entertainer for every one great bar service snacks too
the next time anyone is back remember to say to Domingo PURE MAD MENTAL MAN thanks Castillo for a great and memorable time, hope to see you all again soon.

Me and my boyfriend visited the apartments at the end of September the weather was still great. We had the time of our lives and made a real friend out of Domingo he was great fun, my boyfriend (James) had fun shooting and did excellent on his first try and even won a trophy for it.
The apartments were basic but comfortable. The maids came in 5 days a week and did a really good job the hotel staff and pool bar staff were really helpful and kind.
The stairs down to the centre could be a problem but you overcame it. We ate wonderful food and witness great entertainment we also enjoyed the moonlight strolls to the harbour even to miniature golf. Lastly we went to the water park Maspalomas through rep (Matt who was useless and doesn’t know how to smile!!!) It was great and we had real fun.
We are returning in April 06 and I'm counting down the days.
I'd recommend it to couples!!!!

The location of these aparts are brilliant ( apart from the stairs), as there was 3 of us (young girls of 19) here, the apartments were spacious, the pool was nice, although we just sat at the bar all day and drank it dry hehehe.
Loved watching TOP BANANA from our balcony while we were getting ready 2 go out.
The security guard was great, used to stand at the gate at 7.30 waiting on us coming home from a heavy night and let us in the SSSSHHHHH'd us the whole way up the stairs hahahahahahaha.
The 2 women on reception were soooo nice and always chatted away 2 you.
At night we went to Picadillys (hello all) and Jokers (hey Pepe, Ernesto and Jeff etc) had a great time in the other pub but really got to know everyone in the above too.
Going back to CDS in April this year (06) so really looking forward to it.

I stayed at this hotel last march we went for St. Patrick week brilliant time. hotel very basic but very clean loads going on during the day at the pool.
You can buy food at the pool very fresh loved I am only given it a 9 because when you book a safe you must return your receipt I forgot so I didn’t get my deposit back.
But I will remember this year as I am on way back now this march, cant wait . You must also try scruffy Murphy’s especially paddy day, look out for the 22 big Irish man dressed in all their gear.
Sorry but that is part of my family any way I’m sure you will enjoy the hotel like we did and the resort.

Went to the Castillo Del Sol apartments in Gran Canaria for the first time. We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday there were 12 of us in total lounging by the pool etc. The only thing that I personally could complain about was the cockroaches although we were told about them on the transfer from the airport I was not expecting to see them.
Apart from that the hotel although basic was clean and all the staff were extremely friendly especially Martin in the pool bar and Domingo the hotel entertainer (top banana) hey Domingo if you read this remember "Canarian potatoes with Mojo", anyway Domingo made everyone feel good about themselves and very welcome, the entertainment during the day was good (Domingo) and also there was Karaoke twice a week.
It isn’t that far to the commercial centre but if you are coming back with food shopping etc recommend that you get a taxi back. Only downfall in the commercial centre were the restaurant touts pestering you every time you went past them but there are some great choices for food and very reasonably priced as well.
Would also recommend going to M & M bar in the commercial centre as the drinks were very cheap. Also worth visiting for a night out is the Barbacoa in the Europa centre for a good nights entertainment. Enjoy your holiday!!!!

I agree with previous review me and my partner stayed here late Sept to October and had a great holiday. Domingo is a brilliant entertainer and the rifle shooting was great fun I had never shot a gun before and on my second week of the holiday I got the ladies highest ever score he put up on the wall above the target practice is it still there? (Kath).
The rep was a complete waste of time but all other staff were excellent and we are planning our next stay there. Well worth visiting these apartments if you don’t mind climbing 100 and odd steps to town but taxi's very cheap. Kath and rob from Burnley.

Went to Gran Canaria for the 1st time with my wife (Nicola & kids (Cameron & Josh). The apartments are very clean & are maintained daily.
The entertainer (Domingo top banana) is superb he keeps everyone amused throughout your holiday & at times looks after the kids which allows the mums & dads to catch a few rays. I recommend the air rifle shooting for adults.
The resort is built within a valley & all of the hotels are on the cliffs so be prepared to climb stairs but the taxis are very cheap & reliable.
Shopping for bargains in the town is great & haggle because you will get it cheaper.
The rep is in the wrong job he can’t even acknowledge you in the morning the Spanish receptionist is 10 times better at customer service.

The apartment caters for everyone - the rooms are basic but very clean and the pool area is good too. All the staff at the apartment are very friendly. If you go you must go on some of the trips the rep will tell you about - we did and they are really good (just wear old clothes if you go on the jeep safari)
You are near to the commercial centre (this has very good night life for everyone) and the taxis are very cheap which is good when you have been on a big night out like we did every night and can’t walk back.
We had a great holiday and will go back - if you have booked to go you will enjoy it

The Apartment it’s self was very clean rooms and pool area, cleaned very regularly. Catered for all ages. All staff friendly and helpful. Some entertainment, which was good. Don’t let any body put you off this holiday is the best we had you will enjoy it if you go there. And those who were there you could win a meal for two.
