Excellent

"Just arrived back from our holiday at the Fuertesol Bungalows and had a great time. Bungalows are basic but we expected this anyway so no surprise to us, they were clean and had a maid service every other day. There is basic cutlery and found there was no corkscrew or bottle opener so bought one and left it there for the next people to use. The pool is very large but limited area around the pool for sun beds (luckily we more or less had the pool to ourselves). All the staff who worked there were really friendly and helpful and could not fault them at all. The only down point was that we were in the path of landing airoplanes so there was some overhead noise, they normally stared coming over from around 7.30am and finished "latest" 10pm but to be honest you forgot there were there after a while and we were normally out all day anyway. These bungalows were just out of the centre so it was a short walk to the restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend eating at Lin's Cafe for breakfast, lunch or evening meal very cheap and really nice food. The Windmill was an english restaurant which normally opened at tea time and again would recommend eating here, really nice food and cheap. If you fancy a drink after there is a bar called "Disco Pub Sports Tavern", and both Maxi and Caroline who work there are brilliant and we went in most nights to enjoy their company. If you get the chance to visit jandia I would recommend you do as the beaches are stunning. If you also get the change to go on the "FREE" blanket trip again I would recommend that you take up this offer as there is a guide who takes you around parts of the island that you would not normally see, the only catch is that you have to listen to a lady for one hour that tries to sell you blankets and a bed but there not pushy and you are under no obligation to buy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Fuertesol Bungalows and would visit again."

Fuertosol

"Thomas Cook changed us to these Apts because the ones we booked were not open over the new year. On arrival given an Apt close to pool and reception. All I expected for the price I paid but still very basic. Main flaws were that the buildings doors and windows were very insecure so safety deposit box a must. Ten Euro a week with 10 Euro refundable deposit. The shower leaked and the toilet broke several times although promptly fixed for us. Very basic self catering facilities such as cutlery etc. No corkscrew so dont forget to pack one. Out side it was a nice pool area but I could see it being very crowded in summer. There were only about 6 families using it when we were there and it was still cramped. Location wise it was nice away from the crowds in town but still close enough to walk in. One thing to note is that its on the direct flight path of the nearby airport and noisy at times."

Fuertesol Bungalows

"We had a wonderful, friendly welcome to the Fuertesol Bungalows and were soon on our way to our bungalow. I was a little concerned to begin with that the accommdation would not meet our expectations but there was no need to worry as though the accommdation was very basic it was just what we needed with plenty of space. We loved the separate bedroom and living room and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only downfall was the bathroom which was a little dated BUT again did everything we required.

There is aircraft noise in the resort but this is the same for the whole of Caleta and really isn't that much of a problem - great for those with an interest in planes!!

Caleta is a purpose built resort which little Spanish culture but there are a good selection of restaurants - if you want to find the best ask the bar staff in resort, or other visitors as we found many of them were repeat visitors to the resort.

We had a great holiday, the only thing we would change is the weather and so in future we would go closer to peak season.

fuertesol

"I went to fuertesol for a suprise birthday present, and was not disappointed. for the price my wife paid for it and the fights we had a great family holiday for a week for under £1000!!. The main thing for me is the kids loving it.

The accommadation was fine and had a large swimming pool and small childs pool.

The bar has everything you need from burgers to pizza for lunch and has pool table and air hockey machine.

The reception staff are very friendly and speak excellent english

over all i would go back tomorrow if i could but will have to do with next year. 10/10

Very nice little holiday

"My boyfreind wanted to go away for his birthday as as we left it til the last minute there was not a great deal left. So we ended up in Fuertesol after seeing that the reports of here were not bad.

So when we got there the man at reception was very nice and showed us where our little bungalow was on a map. He also gave us a map of caleta de fuste and wished us a good holiday.

It was only a few minutes walk to the bungalow which would be no problem for most visitors. There are a few steps so if you need a wheelchair then probably not for you.

The bungalow was nice and clean, there was an exposed littel terrace outside, then inside was a lounge/kitchen with a sofa bed, coffee table, TV (which cost 1 euro and hour) a small kitchen with sink, fridge with a small freezer, microwave and two hobs. There was also a kitchen table inside. The bedroom had two single beds which were not the best beds in the world, lots of cupboard space, and a dressing table. There was also a safe in the wardrobe.

The bathroom was clean and basic, and not suitable if you take baths as the beath was definatly on the small side.

The maid came in about three or four times suring our week stay and was very nice to us.

The pool area had plenty of sunbeds (but no parasols so get your own if you like the shade) and the pool was big enough for all the people there at the time. There was a seperate childrens pool.

The pool itself was a bit fresh but it warmed up when you had been swimming for a few minutes, besides, what do you want from a dip in the pool - to cool down and this pool does it nicely.

The pool bar provides a small range of snacks and drinks and is reasonably priced. The bar staff are all friendly and are happy for you to take a drink away with you at the end of the night when the bar closes.

The little store is really (in my opinion) for emmergencys only. It is a bit more expensive than the rest of the stores around (even though I found the whole place expensive with the rubbish euro exchange rate).

All in all I thought this place a good base from which to stay. I would recomend others stay here.

A word of warning for the adventure seeker though. There is not a lot to do in Caleta de Fuste and you shouldn't go thinking you can find things to do as all the major attractions need a car or a bus journet or a tour to see. So either you need to get you pennies out or learn how to get moving on the bus system (the stand is about two minutes from the front door of the bungalows)

"The bungalows are lovely if a bit basic - which is all we were looking for - with a reliable and good maid service most days to change sheets etc We had a great bungalow just in front of the pool, which was very convenient. The reception staff spoke English and were very helpful in offering advice about excursions, prices/timetables for local buses, booking taxis etc.

The pool bar offers a good selection of drinks and British based food/snacks, and very friendly service, open 9am - midnight with a happy hour between 9pm and 10pm.

The location of the bungalows is also very good for the resort - about a 5-10 min walk from the centre and to the harbour and the main beach. Worth walking down towards the Atlentico shopping centre, behind which are the nicest beaches in the resort IMO.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here - we will definitely look forward to coming back to Feurteventura in the future, but I think we will try another resort such as Jandia or Collajero as the beaches there were spectacular and really what we were looking for from our holiday :-)

Very nice yet basic place to stay....

"Very nice yet basic place to stay.

Bungalows clean and they provide you with all basic utensils for cooking (Not that we did much cooking because all of the restaurants and bars are so cheap)

Maids come every other day and make the beds and change towels twice a week.

TV is 1 euro and hour but didnt really watch much anyway because most of the channels apart from MTV were in spanish.

Pool very clean and very cold but always nice because it gets so hot layed on a sunbed.

Lady at reception very friendly and spoke perfect english. On the complex there is a pool bar that serves food and drinks at good prices and minimarket which was quite cheap compared to the supermarkets around the area.

About a 5-10 minute walk down to shops, bars and restaurants and then another 5 minutes to the beach which was very clean and quite big. Or if you cant be bothered to walk taxis are really cheap we payed about 2 euros 70 to get to the harbour which was the other side of the beach.

The fuertesol apartments are just as...

"The fuertesol apartments are just as advertised in brochure. They are clean and Tidy and have the basics for cooking. They are cleaned on a regular basis. ALL the staff were helpful and happy.

The grounds are pretty and well maintained. The pool was cleaned regular.

The location of the apartments was ideal. Only ten minutes to the beaches and shops.

Just across the road from the apartments was heather and bobs poolside bar. Great breakfast and run by lovely folks.

In the town there is a restaurant called Nestors.Very tasty food. A little most expensive but well worth a visit. The chinese restaurant was great too.

Infact we had no complaints and a great time was had by all.

"A very enjoyable holiday. The accomodation was basic but very clean as was the pool and bar area. Situted just outside of the main area where the bars and restaurants are located but it easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were cleaned daily. We struggled a little without air conditioning at night but there were fans available from reception for a small charge which helped."

The apartments although basic they...

"The apartments although basic they serve your every need. Brew in the morning, shower, a bit of TV (1 euro 1 hour with sky sports 1) and out you go for the day. When you return rooms cleaned and smelling fresh.

The pool is clean and not that cold. This was a great holiday for my wife and I; first time away without the children in 25 years. We could lounge by the pool, read a book or jump in the pool and have some fun with all the other people. The thing I liked about these apartments was couples with no kids enjoyed the company of couples with kids, and the couples with kids respected that us old one's do like to read a book by the pool.

The resort itself was very good, plenty to do in the town. If staying for more than 1 week I would recommend a hire car just to see some of the island. Great beaches in Carralego but the town is too busy for us. Jandia is another good place to visit.

Overall I would come back to the same apartments if and when we come to Fuerteventura again. The distance from the airport is a plus although you do get a bit of noise.
