Stayed at these bungalows for one...
5 / 10
Mar 2007, Miss G McGovern

Stayed at these bungalows for one week in March 07, was a last minute holiday booking.
Bungalow was not what we expected; very basic, seemed as though no-one had been in the room for a long while. Very dusty and was a musty smell for a couple of days.
Pool area was clean but pool was freezing, the pool area was very windy, left towel on sun bed and it just blew off. Pool was very cheap, good service and good food.
Only about 7minutes away from airport, so a lot of noise, but soon get used to it.

It’s only about a 5minute walk to town centre and beach, got to walk through an underpass, which has no lights at night, and is very very dark. We decided to cross the main road at night.
If looking for a nice homemade meal try the 'Windmill', very nice was there at least 4 nights from 7. Also Scotch Corner a nice cheap place has all British channels form bbc1 to channel4.
The area itself not really for young people, not much to do apart mini golf, if you want to try something different try the trikes, run by a British couple, great experience. You will find them at the market on Saturday.
All in all was an ok place for a cheap, quiet week away but if you’re looking for something exciting I would try somewhere else.
Good place for older people!

Clean spacious bungalows and friendly...
8 / 10
Jan 2007, Mr D Roos

Clean spacious bungalows and friendly staff. Large pool, on site shop & bar.
Five min taxi from airport, so there is some daytime landing noise. You soon ignore it.
Five min walk to bars, restaurants & beach. Very good value & wide choice.
Whole resort clean, well thought out & cared for. Building work on fringes, so no problem.
In January was under half full, so ideal for laid back winter sun break.

Just returned from a week here over...
6 / 10
Jan 2007, Mr C Essame

Just returned from a week here over New Year.
We had originally booked to stay at Caleta Gardens but the noise of children's entertainment in the afternoon, following a bad night when the leg fell off the bed, and the generally grotty "apartment" made us move here.
We were happy that we had done so.
A good place to stay if you just want to chill, plenty of space for two with basic but clean facilities of a decent standard.
The shop and bar are OK but it is not quiet, the main road thunders by at the front and you are right under the flight path which can get a bit wearing at times.
There is a lot of noise coming down the hill from the "entertainment" at the Caleta Dorada complex, from early afternoon to night time. But it is possible to relax here and that was what we wanted.

I loved staying here but they should...

Oct 2006, Miss J E Field

I loved staying here but they should have had air con it was hard to sleep on a night but rooms were spacious.
We liked the Spanish woman on reception Eva I think it was she always made us laugh. The bad smell people thought it was the drains but it was the water for the plants. Overall I will stay here again I liked the bungalows and I loved watching the planes coming in low over our apartments you never got sick of looking up but I love flying.
I’ve just come back on wed 18th Oct from Costa Caleta and yet again brilliant weather it was up to 100c in Oct booking for May, June 07 cant wait to go back I recommend catamaran with tour Ventura and the quads with them it was excellent seen a turtle it was amazing and I seen all the different fish. Magical.
Loved the pool at Fuertesol it was refreshing with it been so hot in June you need a pool cool when its 105c.

Just got back from Caleta de Fuste...
9 / 10
Oct 2006, Mr P Wellman

Just got back from Caleta de Fuste and I have to say what a great place to just chill out.
My wife and I went for 2 weeks in September 06, this was our first holiday without the kids, so it was like the honeymoon we never got.
The average temperature was 88f and even at night it was still very warm.
The planes that come over head came between 7am till about 10pm and to be honest after a few days you don’t take much notice of them.
The apartments are basic enough with a 2 ringed hob, a TV that is coin operated? The beds are very hard which can be a good thing, but those mattress protectors are a pain, the heat just bounces back onto you so it is very uncomfortable to sleep sometimes.
Our maid was great she came 10 times during the 14 days we stayed there, gave a basic clean, mopped and change the bedding 4 times in 2 weeks. Our towels where changed every time she came, so I suppose it depends on the cleaner how well she does her job.
Security was not a problem at all; we didn’t see anyone or hear off anyone who had been robbed etc. The is a security presence but they seem to walk around late at night, probably thinking there is no need as there is plenty of people about to scare the robbers. There is a police force about who seem to only stop in the cars, but they are around which makes you feel safe.
Trips out are great but don’t go to your rep, there is a place in the main centre that do trips and we found them a lot cheaper.
Food in the town is great, there is a massive choice from Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Chinese and of course the usual English places...But why would you want to go to a English place for pie and peas and chips your on your holiday try the other places.
I can recommend the rib place on your left as you walk into town; the Italian "Gambinos" under the rib place is fantastic. The Chinese in the main town is also a great place to eat and very nice people and very friendly. To be honest we ate out all the time and the prices are great, a mixed grill for £4!
English breakfast work out at around
Trips that are about are good but on the expensive side.
We went whale watching which cost around £27 (40E) each, we didn’t see whales on our first trip or dolphins, but because you don’t see anything you get the trip free until you do see. On the very next day we saw around 100 dolphins which the catamaran chases which you just have top experience.
We also went on a day trip around the island which takes you to some stunning places, the trip cost around £23 (35E), to see the island from the highest mountain just has to be seen, and we also liked the goat farm where the cheese is so cheap and very fresh.
The beaches are great; we found if you walked to the right on the beach towards the big hotels the beaches where better. There was not as much little stones.
Caleta de Fuste maybe not be so good for the older kids.
What more can I say, not sure but I think I have covered it.
"Great place, great food, great people, and a great place to just chill out."
One problem we found though was we had to come home :(

My husband, myself & our two children...
8 / 10
Aug 2006, Mrs J Dunn

My husband, myself & our two children stayed at Fuertesol for two wks. The location of the bungalows was quite good, about a ten minute walk into the town. In the town there is a wide variety of shops & restaurants.
Also up the hill from the bungalows there is a Netto which is nearer for supplies than the other supermarkets.
The accommodation was fairly standard. My husband & I slept in the lounge on the settee and pull out bed. We did not have a proper sleep for 2 weeks. However, the fun we had at the excellent pool made up for this.

We booked a Fuerteventura Saver...
2 / 10
Mar 2006, Miss R Riley

We booked a Fuerteventura Saver holiday through Panorama Holidays, which meant we didn't know where we were staying until we arrived at Fuerteventura.
My initial thoughts were it was clean and decent enough. There is a little pool bar open until late into the night, serving good drinks.
The villas are clean enough. The maids came to clean them every few days and changed the towels often enough. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, and this became a problem during the night. We opened the windows only to find mosquitoes were getting in and buzzing around our heads all night. It was difficult to get a nights sleep and at one point we thought about checking out and booking into another hotel.
Unfortunately we could not bear to sunbathe around the pool. There was often a whiff of sewage that got overbearing. As a result of this we went to the beach to sunbathe. The beach was about a 10 minute walk and cost 9 euros to hire 2 sun beds.
There was not much to do at the hotel in the evenings and so most of our time was spent dining out and visiting the numerous bars nearby.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel shop was fully stocked with fresh food.
Overall this place is fairly uninspiring especially for families. It is ok for couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle. We looked for a cheap and cheerful holiday. What we got certainly was cheap, and unfortunately there was not enough to cheer about.

I think the Fuertesol apartments are...
10 / 10
Jan 2006, Miss S Addison

I think the Fuertesol apartments are brilliant. I have been to stay at these apartments twice and request them. I am going again for the third time soon. They are very clean and convenient. You don’t really stay in your room much when you’re on holiday anyway but these are great with a little terrace with patio chairs and a table to sit at in the evening. The pool bar is good and serves gorgeous food...the pool is great and of a large size ...very cold but its quite refreshing. There is a shop on site and it is close to the local amenities. Staff are very helpful and speak English. I travelled both times with my travel and I would highly recommend them. It is a quiet and relaxing place...not much happening in terms of entertainment but it depends what you are looking for...everyone is different. I like it there as it’s quiet, peaceful, clean, the staff are friendly, the rooms are very large and spacious and it’s close to really nice restaurants.

I think that this hotel is more like...
8 / 10
Nov 2005, Miss A Smith

I think that this hotel is more like a villa. You have to do every thing for yourself there is no staff apart from the reception and there is no entertainment whatsoever but it takes a about a ten minute walk to the town where all the restaurants and entertainment is.
The food that they sell in the hotel pool bar is lovely and at 9:00pm they have happy hour and every drink you buy you get the same again free and you can go up to the bar as many times as you like until 10:00pm then happy hour ends.
The pool is fabulous with a separate place for kids. And there is a shop on site which i recommend people not to buy milk from as it is always smelling mouldy even when it is date. But the shop sells English food including pot noodle.
I would recommend this holiday for couples but not for families I went with a family of 13 and we all satisfied each others boredom bout for only a few children I think they would get bored.

A very pleasant self catering...
9 / 10
Jun 2005, Mr A Swindells

A very pleasant self catering complex. The bungalows are lovely and clean and were a comfortable size for our party of 3 adults. They were well equipped with an open kitchen/dining area/lounge with pay TV & sofa bed, bedroom with large wardrobes, rentable safe, dresser and 2 single beds. The bathroom was nice and clean with a shower half bath, toilet, bidet and a sink. There was a nice tiled patio to the front of each bungalow and a small area to the back. The maid service was excellent and very frequent and provided fresh towels & toilet paper.
The pool was refreshingly cold, with a shallow area for smaller children and a deeper freeform area to have a good swim/float in. There is also a small shop opposite the pool inside the complex and a nice family bar serving a range of tasty snacks and drinks. The site in general was very pleasant and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
The beach is about a 7-8 minute walk and is a sandy partially man-made bay. The water was great! There are lots of nice small shops and interesting places to eat around the small town all within easy walking distance. There is also a fairly new shopping mall with Euro Spar supermarket, clothes shops, cinema, McDonalds, etc. about a 15 minute walk to the south.
All together a very nice holiday experience. I have been twice to Fuertesol Bungalows, after the first visit I requested them by name. I have flown there with both MyTravel and Thomas Cook. I would recommend MyTravel by far. For a cheap charter airline their service was very very good. Both times I booked my holiday over the phone after seeing it on the Teletext holidays website.

FuerteSol is a decent place to stay,...
7 / 10
Jun 2005, Miss KM Haywood

FuerteSol is a decent place to stay, with a good pool and good apartments/bungalows. It was situated pretty close to the local town, well within walking distance. It is close to a shopping centre complete with arcade, cinema, bowling alley and McDonalds. The bungalows are all of a high standard, but due to a lack of security we were burgled - the latch was broken on the bedroom window and the window keys can easily be knocked out from outside. This ruined the whole holiday, but seemed to only happen to our apartment. Hopefully security will now be improved.
