Brilliant
from Littlemancminx
Me and my boyfriend have just come back from a weeks stay at the Celeste Apartments and I can honestly say that its a really nice place. I was really impressed with the size of the apartments and the rooms and decoration etc. The rooms are very spacious and very very clean, the only down side was the beds thet are not very comfortable but a few glasses of wine and the odd Vodka sorted that out. The pool was really clean and I practically had it to myself most days. We made freinds with a couple of the stray cats that are looked after by the apartments and they slept in our room most night they were really friendly look out for the black with with the lovely face I named him Sooty. The apartments are a stone throw away from the beach which is at the back of the apartments its a really nice beech but if you want something more secluded take a walk and you will find some really really nice ones. The highlander bar which is connected to the apartments does some real nice food and you get a really nice welcome for everyone in there, the Black Bull is also a really nice place to go aswell this is also connected to the apartments. My only moan about my whole experience in Costa Teguise was LAST MINUTE EXCUSIONS this is just accross the road from the apartments and I would advise you not to book ur trips with them. We booked one trip and this was cancelled we didnt find out untill half an hour before we were ment to go on it. When I went over to get my refund I found the man to be really really rude. There are lots of other places to book trips I would say to go there. I would definately go back here like a shot

just returned from a weeks stay at the celeste and i can honestly say it was lovely very basic but everythin you need , we stayed in the middle block room 217 which we found to be very comfortable with 3 adults 1 ten year old and a baby ,the pool area is very clean and the staff are extreamly curtious and polite if your searching for an english breakfast look no further than the small cafe outside (bar bex) absolutley beautifull and very big lasted us all day until our evening meal compliments to the chef (pete) . we had a fantastic holiday and i wouldnt hesitate to recommend these apartmentsto anyone whos looking for a cheap basic get away to costa teguise , only moan i have is that the showers ran cool by 9pm so take an early shower is my advice !!!!
great place to relax
from teenabeena
roomy apartments with large balcony-beds were rock hard and doors and windows rattled at night in the wind but a great little complex for a family-staff were lovely and helpful. pool had no shallow end so maybe not for toddlers. no entertainment on site but thats how we like it. can highly reccomend the bar under the apartments run by liz and pete who also do a great breakfast as well as drinks. small supermarke6t next door stocks mostly everything but there are 2 spars and a netto for your bigger shop over the road. beach was clean but the water was a bit choppy for us as it can get very windy in this resort. overall a great place and would go back to these apartments if the beds were made a bit softer lol . something for everyone in this resort but its pretty quiet most of the time-just how we like it.
Comfortable base in a good location
from PaulfromYorkshire
We've just returned from a really enjoyable stay in the Celeste Apartments in Costa Teguise. Looking at some of the reviews posted, I am a little surprised at some of what has been written. Our personal experience was of a very comfortable stay, in the second of the three complexes. On arrival, we were greeted by very helpful staff at the Reception who couldn't do enough to help us feel welcome and direct us to our accommodation. We had been put in a quiet part of the complex, as requested due to our young children, and was pleased with the spacious two bedroom apartment (No.216) we'd been allocated. Overall the apartment was clean (maid service everyday except Saturday and Tuesday) and reasonably well maintained. Only the bathroom looked a bit dated, but was functional. The apartments were perfectly located in the resort for the beeches, shops and restaurants, and served as a perfect base for the holiday. The pool area was very clean and well maintained, and although there were a number of children around the pool on each day, very little noise could be heard from our apartment. In the evening the resort had a few bars which hosted live entertainment, but only on a couple of occasions did we hear them back at the apartment, and even then, by midnight all had gone quiet. This certainly did not bother any of us, especially the children who were oblivious to any noise. Overall, the apartments were fine and I wouldn't have any problem recommending them to a friend, or going back ourselves. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the maid service was one of the best we've had on our travels. In terms of location, it was ideal. The majority of beaches, restaurants and shops were in easy walking distance
Basic, well placed, POOR security.

I hope the following review is helpful to fellow travellers and please note that i will be as honest as possible with the review(as i saw it). This was our 6th visit to Costa Teguise in 9 years and have stayed in hotels/apartments ranging from 1-4 stars. We stayed in the Celeste apts for 2 weeks, coming home on Aug 9th last. The best way to sum the apartments up is to rate its features as good or bad; GOOD POINTS. Well placed for local amenities 5 mins to the beach Reasonable value for money paid BAD POINTS. Poor security Noisy if on main road apartments(as we were) Reception opening times. The Celeste apts are well situated close to the beach(3-5 mins depending on which room you are allocated), you are also close to the shops etc. We booked direct and so got OK value for the room and lengh of time we stayed there. **I have to say that the security of the apartments were a major concern**. Steps lead up to our first floor apt and one entered onto your own(large)terrace. Our entrance gate was broken, and would not close, and anyone could simply wander up the steps to your apmt, with then total freedom to do whatever they wanted. The sliding door entry had signs of a previous break in (or attempt) and the 2 windows to the 2 bedrooms - again easily accessible from the terrace, had also got signs that entry had tried to be forced at some stage previously. Inside, the windows were secured by very flimsy latches, anyone outside who wanted to get in could simply 'push' and they would have dislodged the latches with ease. As a consequence (and with having 3 kids under 6) we had to keep the windows closed(as best as possible) to feel reasonably secure - but personally, we felt vulnarable being there - and NO, we are NOT paranoid. One evening, before going to bed, i secured the terrace gate the best i could, with string and then wedged our double buggy up against it, i awoke at 3am, looked out the window and the gate was wide open with the buggy pushed to one side - this was NOT caused by the wind! That aside, we had a main road apt and were above the Black bull pub - very noisy every night(when i booked i asked for a quiet room and was assured i would get one) - and this was with the windows of course, closed. A lot of guests we spoke to said they felt that the reception should have opened more frequently. People arriving on their first day (after 9pm) had to call a number to gain access to the reception, to simply get their apt keys etc. All in all, if you asked me "Would you stay at the Celeste apartments again"? - i' am sorry to say that i would have to say NO. If the security of the place was MUCH, MUCH better i would reconsider.
Dirty Apartments
from nikki8Aberdeen
We are just back from a 2 week holiday, staying at the Celeste apartments. The location is really central and the resort is good, but the apartments themselves were awful. The apartment we had was dirty on arrival and the maid service was very poor. When they did come, they only cleaned for about 5 minutes and washed the floor with dirty water. The furniture was broken and very dated. The pool area was ok but the loungers were all broken and filthy. Would not recommend these apartments to anyone.
Clean but basic
from lgee_7
My partner and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Celeste apartments. After reading the reviews I was hopeful that the apartments would be ok. We got a taxi from the airport so we were at the apartments within 45 minutes of getting off the plane. The taxi journey is 15 mins and costs 18 euros. Well worth beating the coaches! The apartments are in an excellent location just behind the main square with all the bars and restaurants. There are also bars opposite the apartments. There is a club there so if you're apartments face the road there you can hear the club and it only closes about 6am. The apartment itself (we were in 114) was a good size and very clean. They are basic and do need updating but they are spotless. The windows didn't close property so we had to stuff the tops with cardboard because they rattled all night! and the shower head was held on with a plastic bag! but it did work. You don't get much hot water but it doesn't get ice cold so its bearable. The bedrooms are quite big with a large double wardrobe and the kitchen has a cooker, microwave, kettle, fridge and toaster. There is a Spar supermarket to the left of the apartments and a Netto to the right. Both sell branded food but we found the Spar cheapest. There is a british shop next to the reception but we found this too expensive. My one complaint would be the towels. Take your own!!! They are threadbare and they smell awful. We had to use our beach towels all week!! Bar wise there is a bar called the Black Bull next to the british supermarket just past reception. The staff are friendly and the food it good. To the left as you leave reception there is a square with a Mexican (Texas House) which is good and an italian (El Patio) which is nice but a bit expensive. There is also a bar here underneath the bandstand called The Snug. Its an Irish bar and they have an irish singer on most nights who is really good although some of his jokes aren't!!! Lani's two restaurants on the front are both nice. There is also a restaurant overlooking the sea called Versubius which is nice (just past the Occidental Hotel along the main road behind the watch shop where the cars park). We found Ryans bar the most expensive for drinks along with a miserable barman! If you walk along the coast road past Ryan's bar there are more bars. The ones that we liked for food were Splash, The Bailey and the Cutty Sark. If you have children the apartments don't really cater as there isn't anything there for them, the pools are very small with no entertainment so if you're looking to stay by the pool in the day these apartments aren't for you. Love Lanzarote and Costa Teguise so will go back but would only stay at the Celeste if it was a last minute cheap deal as this holiday was. We got the week for £166 each with Thomas Cook. If I had paid more I would have been disappointed. One last point, don't fly with Air Europa! They sell you headsets then don't put the tv's on and when you complain they say they are for the radio which is in Spanish!! and the return flight didn't even have a radio on it!!!
fantasic appartments
from girliehols
we have just returned form a weeks holiday at the celeste appartments which were fab, the location is great as is the rooms, we stayed in a two bed appartment which both bedrooms had a sun terrace plus the main terrace, our only complaint if any was the pool was freezing, the beach is a 5min walk away as is all the resort resturants, we would recomend the la ola which is on the promenarde and el patio which is directly out of the appartments in the market square, just across the road is the livley lady show bar which host a family friendly drag show every night which is fab the staff are friendly and shows are brill. we have stayed in costa teguise four times now at different places but this is by far the best and we will definatly be returning to the celeste
absolutely wonderful staff
from summerbird
We first stayed at 'celeste' on a last minute holiday in 2006 and liked it so much that we have been back there 3 times and have booked again for Christmas and New Year 2007/2008. The apartments are clean and well equiped but if there is anything that you want extra all you need do is go to reception and ask, if they can help you they will. We have taken other family members with us and they all agree with us that it is a fantastic place. The Celeste is split into 3 seperate complex,s all have a locked entrance gate (for which you will be given a key) but you can use any of the facitities whichever block youare in,eg 3 pools, We have stayed in block A and B and have liked both of them, in fact we have a prefered apartment now and request it as we now book our next holiday persooally when we leave. No more travel agents for us when we go to Lanzarote we just book our flights and usually a hire car at the airport. Try the Celeste, we highly recommend this family run complex.
Lovely Holiday Despite a Few Problems
from LH1982
Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Celeste Apartments last week for 5 days! We had a wonderful holiday and thought that the location of the apartments was great. They are 2 mins walk from the beach and next to all the Bars and Restaurants. Although we were so close to the action we werent kept awake with and music or other noise during the night which was superb. I have read some other reviews which say that the apartments are really clean but i kinda disagree! When we got to our apartment it smelt like it no one had stayed in it for a while - really foisty/musty. The bathroom was dirty and the toilet had stains in it! We didnt let this bother us and when we were out that day we found some Cif and domestos in the local Supermarket and i gave it a good clean...but during the next 4 days after cleaning everyday..when we returned to the apartment after a long day at the beach we could smell an eggy drain smell as soon as we walked into the apartment. Also we didnt want to hang our clothes in the wardrobe as it smelt really dirty. The sheets didnt get changed on our beds for the 4 nights we stayed although the maid did come in and make the bed twice. From what we could she..she did nothing else to the room. The towels in our bathroom looked 10 years old so we bought some towels to use from a shop nearby. I am not a clean freak and have recently been a grungy student...but seriously wouldnt have used the towels to dry my dog with! ha ha! On holiday you usually get nice white fluffy towels but these werent good at all, they were a faded rusty dirty colour. But then again it is 2star. We didnt go to the swimming pools as we prefer going to the beach... the one near our apartment looked very small and only big enough for about 2 families to fit around. It did look very clean though. Everything else about the apartments were great..the lady at Reception was lovely and very helpful and even thought there was no evening entertainment and the Reception closed over night...this wasnt a problem at all as there is so much else to do. On our last night we found a bar called The Snug, it is an Irish bar underground, just round the corner from the Apartments We were probably the youngest couple in there at 24 but there was an Irish Singer with his guitar and he was also telling jokes too! It is definately worth a vist..we couldnt stop laughing. Also on the beach..look out for the "Beer..Calipo..Calipo..cola cola" man with his cooler case..he was great...had amazing up selling techniques..even if you just wanted a can of coke you ended up with a Calipo each and a bottle of water too with out even feeling like you were pushed into getting them. Ha ha! Over all costa Teguise and the Celeste Apartments were fine.. but we were glad to only be staying for 4 nights in that apartment..we were fed up of the smell really! I bet other apartments were ok..we probably just got one which wasnt too looked after. No one alse seems to have had the smelly problem! :-D
Me and my husband have just arrived back from two weeks at the Celeste Apartments, the apartments were lovely and clean, could do with a bit of decorating doing. the cleaners came nearly every day. It is very central to everything, and the reception staff couldn't do enough to help you, they were very friendly and pleasant.
