im not one for writing reviews either but whilst searching for the apppartments we are due to stay in i thought id look over how the comments were doing here
whilst staying at our appartment were all the doors and windows were locked only accesible via the cleaners presents and a small amount of lose chnge was take from our room we first of all left this to miss placing but then noticed the mobile phones were also missing
we heard tht another appartment had been broken in to were the occupants suitcases had been used to gather and remove the belongings from the room
on approaching reception they soon changed from a very well spoken to no comprendai there is security cameras that are darted around the appartments when asking to look at the footage very widely advertised was the fact that these were not real and un able to prove anything
our rep came to assist drunk wearing his liverpoo football kit and said he couldnt helpand it was nothing new to him from he appartments which was very re asuring
our last night ended in 12 people sitting round a table who didnt start a holiday together but ended in us all sharing a room for our last night as no one was prepared to help and we felt very unsafe with the very strange so called security guard following members around the complex

las tabaibas is in a great location over the road from the playa grande area beach. thats where you want to be. CENTRAL!!!!! a quiet residential/holiday maker complex of about 50 apartments. if you know puerto del carmen, its near titos kareoke bar, the sports bar, the galleon bar and to the left is near the toby jug and the spanish bar. its about 2 minutes from linekars bar go right, do your homework about the apartments some are better than others. web site TALANZA.COM is recommended they have apartments and villas here and elsewhere. cant fault this complex coz we got a great apartment with home comforts.

3rd visit to sands this time in may...very quiet compared to august which we have done when children were younger.New management while we were there and we had a problem paying the bill due to old and new system..most staff great odd ones rather rude. villa refurbishment almost complete most if not all are privately owned. pleased our request was honoured. we love costa teguise and are going to try oasis lanz in july08. I'm not one for doing reviews BUT please dont go to TABAIBA as we were robbed too. the review ive read prompted me.our 2 bed apartment kitchen was level with the road and our balcony overlooked the first pool. reception was also robbed but no one else that i knew about. rep was very helpful but holiday ruined with a day at the police station. its was december and we didnt have windows open.PLEASE DONT GO there are so many more central places..nazaret is another weve stayed at and would do again.it all depends on the time of year and how much u want to pay. try travel republic or alpha rooms but not for TABAIBA. all in all sands is or has been value as long as new managers dont inflate the prices.

These appartments were a good standard and clean.It was quite a distance to the beach and shops we had to get taxis every day.The only downfall to our hoilday was that my 3 year old son sliced open the top of his finger on the stairs in the childrens pool,there were no trained medical staff and not even a first aid kit ,it was appaling.We will never go back thats for sure.

We really enjoyed ourselves here. The appartment was fine (although one cupboard door fell off - hardly important - and was quickly fixed. The courtesy bus was frequent and quick. The restaurant served good if simple food.
Location wise, it was certainly quiet & peaceful and a great place to unwind. Views spectacular.
We'd recommend Tabaiba to anyone wanting a cheap & cheerful short break.

Good base for a holiday - large two bedroomed apartment clean and tidy - kitchen has micro fridge with freezer compartment and four ring hob - plenty of cutlery and plates glasses but no good knife bought one for £5 also bought set of frying pans for £3 so managed to cook anything.
Large rooftop terrace - apartment no 622 - totally private - hired fan which we needed as temp was never below 19.
Quite a distance from anything else so be prepared to use bus which is free during day but drops you a long way from any real shops or beaches, taxis are 4 euros to almost anywhere in Costa Teguise - Cucharas Beach area best for families with plenty of bars and restaurants.
Great food at Oscars which has a vegetarian selection and fabulous soups and steaks - try the surf and turf - large fillet steak and half lobster at 28 euros is very good, other food is more modest price of about 10 euros for main course but excellently cooked also go to El Golfo and try the fish restaurants at the end of the town - superb with tables right next to rocky beach - watch the surfers and eat great fish.
Maid service three times in the week - reception open morning and evening and guy is friendly and helpful. Apartments on other side of road are not as good and the courtesy rooms are naff. Bar is ok with friendly staff and loads for kids - watch out for screaming kids and drunken adults as security guard is hard to find. If you need a 2 bed apartment you will struggle to beat the price here.

Spent a week at the Tabiba and no problems. OK the rooms aren't luxurious however they are clean and tidy and very spacious. Maids are spot on. Balcony outside with loungers so you don't have to move if you don't want to. I loved it here.
I celebrated my birthday here and had a lovely time. Went into the town most nights. Walked there, taxi back! 3 euros is nothing for a taxi. Lovely food in the town - Chinese, Indian, anything really. Had some lovely cocktails and drinks and the bar staff were ace. Had a fabulous time there.
Needed a holiday to get some rest and this was just what the doctor ordered. When I read the reviews I panicked but I needn't have worried.
My husband and I relaxed, had peace and quiet, ate good food and recharged our batteries. Would definitely go again, to the same place and same location.

Please do not book a holiday to these apartments, as we got there at 22.30 nowhere to get any water for a drink and had to find own apartments with 4 suit cases in the dark. On entering the room and emptying the cases in the cupboards the doors dropped off and lights weren't working which weren't fixed till the next day.
On day 3 of 7 we got on the free bus to the beach at midday and came back at 4.15 to find that the room had been robbed, but there is being robbed and being robbed when they take everything pants, socks the whole dame lot! On reporting this to the reception we found very little help from them or the reps so next morning had to go to the local police station to pay for an interpreter and he valued all the stuff that went missing at 1790 euro we went out with 89 kg for 2 adult and 3 children and came back with 42kg. All of our doors and windows were locked and the only people to go in the room were the so called cleaners once a week.
Another tip if you do book this which I hope to god you don't take some hiking boots with you the nearest Netto is 20min walk away there and back. Please save your hard earned money and go somewhere else what you have worked hard for all year if you don't take out extra insurance cause someone else got done 2 days later beware beware beware.

Me and my family stayed here, at the later end of August. We had a fantastic time, and all the staff were very helpful, polite and friendly.
The apartment itself was very large, spacious and clean. The maids cleaned to a very high standard, couldn’t fault their work. In and around the apartments was also kept very clean. The pool was cleaned every morning along with the surrounding area of the pool.
No entertainment but do believe they are closing for three months over the Christmas period to have the apartments all done up. i.e. the pool is going to be larger, total revamp and there will be entertainment for next year 2008.
Can’t wait to see it all done up, couldn’t fault the holiday. We had a fantastic time.

Just returned from the Tabaiba after staying there 2 weeks with my partner and my 2 children. I thought the apartment was excellent and was really big and well equipped with everything you need.
We stayed on the opposite side to the reception where there was a second pool which we had to ourselves most of the time as it was a lot quieter than the other pool, which was great. The on-site supermarket sold pretty much everything you need and was not bad value considering it was a on-site shop.
The downfall to the complex was that there was no entertainment on at all apart from the reptile show on a Wednesday, which was ok, and the kiddies loved it.
The reception staff were very helpful (Terry) and would order taxis and give you any information you needed.
The restaurant staff were friendly and the food was very nice, the only down fall was they shut at 11.30am after breakfast and didn’t open back up until 6.30pm for tea, so if you were hungry around the day you had to venture out in the centre.
We all had a fantastic time, the children really enjoyed themselves and the water park is well worth a visit as it is only a 5 min walk from there.
