Apartment was basic but catered well...
8 / 10
Feb 2007, Mr S Brown

Apartment was basic but catered well for our needs in that the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were of adequate standard.
This may sound harsh but it is not intended to, the apartment we stayed in needs updating.
Having hired a car from the airport, a must, the resort provided an excellent starting point for touring the entire Island.
The attractions are very reasonably priced with children being admitted free.
The resort of Costa Teguise is quiet with a plentiful supply of good restaurants and cafes. No complaints at all about the resort.
The only issue we had as a family is being confronted by a group of presumably locals dressed in fancy dress who attempted to start a fight. Thankfully nothing materialised.
This occurred in Puerto Del Carmen where our rented car was also scraped. Do not let this put you off as the Island and indeed the apartments provided very good value for money.
Overall a great time and no complaints. Very satisfied customers.

We couldn't decide where we wanted to...

Jan 2007, samantha12

We couldn't decide where we wanted to go and so we looked on the internet and read some reviews about Lanzarote, especially the Tabaiba Apartments.
We spotted a great deal in the window of our local travel agents and booked it without hesitation.
When we arrived it was night time and it did look a bit disappointing externally, but when we got into the apartment, we could not believe the size of it and the bath wow! it was like having an indoor pool.
We found everyone very friendly and we got to no a family from Bradford who we still have contact with, the bar staff Jamie was really funny if you go ask him about his electric game behind the bar.
The restaurants we really great value for money didn't really like the one within the apartments but we found somewhere called Fat Larry's, aww the food mmm and good prices.
Puerto Del Carmen is a must to go to, the beaches are gorgeous and the shopping is fantastic also I recommend you visit the Costa Teguise market. The reception take bookings and it cost us 10 euros each for adults, it is HUGE you need to go twice.

The apartments were very clean,...

Dec 2006, Ms B Scott

The apartments were very clean, spacious and well furnished. The kitchen area was particularly smart.
There were plenty of windows and we had a large balcony and private roof terrace with built in barbecue. The bath was huge, but the water tank only provides 30 ltrs of hot water, so it was impossible to fill.
Our only complaint: whilst towels were changed every other day, bedding was only changed once in a week.
The on-site restaurant was very reasonable - same prices and menu as main resort and chef was extremely happy to cater for special diets at no extra cost.
We hired a car for £60 for 4 days, but there was a free bus to the main beach and taxis cost 3 Euros. The main resort has lovely beaches. It is perfect for couples or families, lots of places to eat but not tacky, a meal with a bottle of wine for two cost 20 Euros max.
We did our shopping in the Spar or Netto, both very reasonably priced. Drink and fresh meat for the barbi are extremely reasonable here, as are cigarettes, though fresh fruit seemed about the same as at home.
Excellent place to stay, we will be definitely go back.

You must go here. After a disastrous...

Dec 2006, Miss CL Willmer

You must go here. After a disastrous trip in July in Tunisia, we booked a bargain two week holiday here in September with Going Places.
When we arrived, we were amazed; huge apartments, we were in two couples, each with own apartment, and we had a spare room in each. The baths were humongous, like paddling pools. The apartment itself wasn't 5* luxury, but it was more than I'd ever expect, fitted kitchen was gorgeous and with your own balcony and barbeque it was just great.
Apartment was very spacious, with large diner/lounge and kitchen area open plan. It was great. My best holiday so far. The pools aren't huge, they're quite small but with such a lovely huge set of beaches (free bus ride away ran 5 time’s day) you had no reason to complain.
Loads and loads of restaurants in the main resort where the bus drops you off, everything you need for your holiday! Great for kids too, aqua park ten mins walk, I went there and it was Ok for a day out. Even though we went in the end of September, it was very very hot still.
The only downfall is that the prices over there in Lanzarote with it being such a touristy place are near enough like those in UK.
Please, from an experienced holiday maker, get yourself here. Highly Recommended, absolute bargain.

Sep 2006,  Bk Beth Kerins

Had a wonderful time at Tabaiba friendly and quiet atmosphere fun for the kids, weather was great! The staff and reps were welcoming and good with the children!
The food wasn’t the best but there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the centre!! It’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach which is lovely and clean! No entertainment at night but there was always the bars in the centre which was great!
The kids had fun at the water park which was real fun and a good day out! Overall enjoyed the holiday sad to come home and hope to return in the future!

Jan 2006, Miss Sa Wilson

Me and my family first visit to Lanzarote and we loved every minute. The rooms were of great value they were clean and modern. The complex was great with friendly people and great holiday reps would return anytime.
We had great weather really hot and sunny. By the time the two weeks were up we did not want to return home. Would recommend these apartments to families with young children quiet but has a great sense of fun . We hope to return in the near future.

Large 2 bed roomed 2-floor apartment...
7 / 10
Oct 2005, Ms K S Chapman

Large 2 bed roomed 2-floor apartment had plenty of space for our party of 3 adults and 2 children. Huge circular bath with shower over (big enough for 6!). Not luxurious, just basic but lets face it how much time do you actually spend inside. 2nd floor balcony/patio area with built in barbeque. 2 pools were small but due to time of year were never packed.
Bar was OK, no entertainment on the week we were there, got pool tables, table football and TV screens but didn’t put England football on so went elsewhere as did everyone else. Used the restaurant the night we arrived but didn’t bother again - could be so much better. It is a good 40 min walk to the beaches and resort centre but there are courtesy buses running 4 times daily. Taxis in the evening cost about 3-4euros, reception would book them for you - taxis will only take 4 people so if there are more in your party make sure to book 2.
Plenty of restaurants in town to choose from, we liked Via Mayor, great food and friendly staff, and ate there most nights. Reasonable prices too. Went to the main beach which was lovely but unfortunately for the kids the sea wasn’t accessible due to rocks, but found a lovely cove with sloping beach and shallow water and fish would swim around your feet. Day trip to volcano including camel ride fab.
Sunday market OK but not as exotic as thought would be but only cost 8 euros for trip so not too bad. Wish we’d taken lots more money though because there were lots more trips would liked to have gone on. There is an Aquapark about 15 mins walk away - you could see it from balcony - wish we’d gone, heard it was good but unfortunately ran out of money.

Las Tabaybas, Puerto del Carmen. A...

Las Tabaybas, Puerto del Carmen. A beautiful, small, private, two-storey apartment complex with lovely well kept gardens and pool area. Loungers with every apartment to use at the pool so no 'towels on the loungers' syndrome! Small, shallow pool ideal for the kids linked to a deeper pool. Views from the top apartments to the main Fariones beach and the mountains - also views from the pool area reached by a short flight of steps.
Choose the garden apartments to be a bit quieter although when we were there in June there were not many visitors and the pool area was very lazy and quiet. No bar facilities on the complex but restaurants and bars literally on your doorstep. Surprisingly, absolutely no noise from the front line even when sitting out on the patio well after midnight.
We had a two, twin bedroom apartment with large bathroom (shower over the bath), good-sized kitchen area with fridge, full cooker, kettle, toaster etc. With breakfast bar to the lounge. Could accommodate six on put-u-up beds in the lounge. Tele with video and loads of videos supplied for the children. Lots of apartments are privately owned and everybody very friendly and helpful. No need for a car as all supermarkets etc a short stroll away. But ..... The frontline supermarkets are very pricey. If you want to self cater in style head for the hypermarket where everything is fresh and half the cost. A taxi will get you there in 10 minutes. We hired a jeep from the airport booked via the Internet and was waiting for collection when we arrived. Useful if you want to see the Island but not essential. Try the old harbour restaurants at night for lovely food and amazing views or the new harbour at Puerto Calero if you want to sample the millionaire lifestyle and yacht watch!
Can’t fault the holiday in any way. Sea is clear and wonderful for diving or snorkelling, safe on the main beach for young children. Try the 'Flying Dutchman' bar for a good beer or Sunset Beach for breakfast and homemade beef burgers - beats Maccies any day! In June there was a nice breeze to cool you off in the evening (pack a light sweater or jacket) otherwise the weather was hot, sunny and absolutely perfect. Going back in September but had a lot of trouble getting back onto Tabaybas, so recommend book early. Worth every penny.
