Having read the various reviews I would like to add
FORS- check in smooth, reception clean and tidy, room clean and tidy, no damaged furniture, no cock roaches, clean pool area, mostly friendly staff(allways the odd grumpy one, easy access to restuarants and town. Excellent view from our front facing apartment over looking the golf course with excellent sun rise. Plenty of hot water, good maid service, Hallways clean and tidy.
AGAINST - room overlooking the front and golf course = A very busy noisy road(one of the main roads into P DL americas), road works out front started very early, jack hammers etc basic cooking facilities. Noisy guests late afternoon early eveing and early morning2-5am, lots of shouting ,swearing at people in the street etc mostly from the lads on holiday crowds. sadly as well a few foul mouth girls at 4 ish in the morning.
SUMMARY... A clean and tidy hotel with some noisy guests (vocal) on a busy road BUT LETS BE HONEST WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN BOOKING 2 STAR SELF CATERING ACCOMODATION AT THE BOTTOM END OF THE MARKET.
" Well. What can i say? Some very mixed... "
Submitted By: Miss M PeacockThere are LOADS of places to eat, tried a different place everynight! Nice cheap food. Drinking wasnt that expensive if you made sure you got a PR to take you in, the best deal was for club Rags, 10 euros for 4 vodka and lemonades each, 2 shots each and a jug of cocktail to share!!!! Cant beat that!!!!
The Thomas Cook reps were lovely! And the bar crawl on our last night was amazing! They made sure we had plenty to drink!!! Apartments are ten min walk to main nightlife, although walking back at night up the hill always proved a challenge!!!!
Brannigans and Linekars were our fav places to go, b's because of fit barman and funny dj and linekars because of the novelty of dancing on the chairs!! lol!!
I had an amazing holiday and will definitely be going back next year! And yes, to the same apartments!!!
" hideous noise till 1-2am & later,... "
Submitted By: Mrs G Whytockmy first time in Tenerife, absolutely beautiful island, I loved it ... but the accommodation was an absolute disgrace
the apartment itself was basic but pleasant-looking, & fine as far as it's facilities were concerned, but cockroaches??? NO NO NO, totally unacceptable
thank goodness we mostly ate out & had no more than cornflakes & snacks in the apartment or we'd have been overrun with the things
if we as much dropped a potato crisp on the floor, they were out eating them!!!
also ignorant & inconsiderate adults playing loud music & shouting/'singing' on balconies (against hotel rules) ... but in particular children (8-ish - 15-ish) unsupervised, running riot, screaming, shouting till the early hours of the morning
you get leaflets through your door telling you that as a result of customer complaints, noise must be kept to a minimum, particularly after midnight & that security will eject anyone breaking those rules
in reality, security & hotel staff shrug their shoulders & do nothing, they couldn't care less
the bar (allegedly) 8am - midnight operates in it's own time zone, depending on how drunk the bar staff are, they close up whenever they feel like it & are completely unapologetic
I met several other guests who were equally unhappy, & this morning as I checked out, another person was complaining at reception about slamming doors, shouting & screaming in the early hours
I've stayed in 2 star hotels in Africa with better facilities, more caring & pleasant staff & NO cockroaches ... I can only imagine the positive reviews have been written by 'interested' parties ... avoid this place at all costs

Submitted By: Miss P EatonThe room was basic but clean (and did not stink of bleach). All the dishes were clean, floors inside and on patio were clean, bathroom clean etc. We didn't have any cockroach issues whilst there either.
The pools were very good and was fully staffed with lifeguards. There is a massive range of reasonably priced restaurants in the resort.
All in all we had a good time at the Oro Blanco, obviously it has not satisfied everyone judging by previous comments but we found it to be a friendly and relaxing place.
" Firstly, our plane was so cramped and... "
Submitted By: Mr G VarmaAfter the horror of the plane journey, we finally arrived at our apartment. We was greeted by the moodiest person you'll ever meet. When we got to our rooms they were infested with cockroaches, and my bed had toothpicks stuck in the mattress.
However, the cleaner did come in about 4 times in the week we stayed there. The security guard came in at about 6 in the morning, claiming we had loud music on, and demanded 50 euros each. We explained to him we couldn't have music on because we never had a hi-fi! We told him where to go, he got a bit emotional, but then eventually left.
However, the best part of the hotel was the popular adult gay scene and there was a lot of freindly people to party with. This was at times inconvenient due to having children who may have seen the atmosphere as offensive.
The resort itself was lovely, apart from the chinese restaurants, which short changed me and refused to give me my correct change. Not to mention their food which made me feel ill. I got my moneys worth though as I kept their menu and took their salt and pepper. Stay in room 507, you'll get a free menu, salt and pepper and free sky tv!
Overall, the holiday was a success as I met a nice guy, and we had a great time.
Thanks for listening to my views as the hotel didn't.
" The apartments are quite clean and... "
Submitted By: Mrs G McManusPlease do not go to this hotel with young children, our four years old couldn’t get to sleep because of the road noise. The hospital is just around the corner as well.
A lot of guests are young and out to party and return around 3am or so, and that was in October! So I don’t know what the summer season would be like. On a positive note the staff are friendly and the weather was great.
Eating out can be hit and miss. If you go to Tenerife a must is loro park, fantastic, a great day out and you are collected at the front of the hotel. We would return to Tenerife but not to this hotel.
" I stayed at Oro Blanco for 7 nights... "
Submitted By: Miss A GregIt was the perfect location for the bars and night clubs... Veronicas strip and the beach was only a few minutes walk away. It really was a brilliant holiday and I am planning to return to Las Americas... and to Oro Blanco of course!!
