We stayed for a week at the Oro Blanco in the first week in December. We found the room quite big and very clean, the cleaners where in every day to clean the room and the public areas of the hotel where spotless.
Unfortunately the pool is very cold and didn't appear to be heated but it was still a nice area to sit out and enjoy the sun with a drink in hand.
We stayed in a room facing the Golf Course and found it very quiet, as people have previously stated there is a road between the hotel and the golf course which is busy but didn't disturb us at night.
The only other thing when annoyed us slightly was the TV in the room was pay per view and costs € 1 per hour and the € 30 deposit each we had to pay on arrival.

Just got back from a week in the oro blanco, found the apts basic.5 out of 10 for cleanliness.But beware you will be charged 30 euro per person as a deposit on your rooms,and if you don't break any of the hotel rules or any of the fittings you will get this back at the end of your stay.As we were on a budget we were very put out.
Some young lads who had a bit of a noisy last night were not given there deposit back.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Oro Blanco is pretty basic but apart from having drinks and getting ready, we never used the room. When arriving there's a 30euro room charge per person, which you get back, if you don't break anything and the safe is 20odd euro where you get so much deposit back. They have a 'key box' so there's no worry about loosing it or returning home with the wrong friend who doesn't have the key. We never walked threw 'stabbers alley' becasue the bars on the way served dirt cheap drinks & the lads working there were a right laugh. The PRs in town are canny, tad annoying after the 6th one but at the end of it they're only doing their job, we just chilled out had a laugh. We're already booked up for the Oro Blanco in February, 11 nights this time, 7 just wasn't enough, considering travelling.

Awful place. The room was not fit to live in so we stayed elsewhere. It was dirty, stains everywhere (particularly in the bathroom), small living area, broken wardrobe, broken shower, small balcony with views of the road - not a pleasant place to stay at all.

Before i went away i read all the reviews! After just returning from a 2 week hol at Oro Blanco i will be totally honest...
So first off the rooms, i would say they were basic (which is all you need on holiday), spacious and had 2 big balconys. Unfortunately we did have quite a few cockroaches, we also felt the the room could have been a little cleaner after the maids had been in...e.g the bin to be emptied etc.
Now the pool - It's ideal size for a nice dip, clean and good temperature! Always managed to find a sunbed, and the poolside bar served the BEST burgers!
Location - Spot on! Short walk to the beach(which is perfect), shops and bars! I have to admit it does get noisey throughout the night! Although we were also coming in at 4am so we didnt mind!
All in all i would say we all had a great holiday and found Oro Blanco an ideal place to stay in Tenerife! :)

in July 2010 me and 5 friends stayed in 3bed studio apartments in Oro Blanco for 10 days. The first thing i must coment on is the Receptionists. at the time we visited there were 2 of the most fun and friendly people i have ever met working behing reception. if you ever meet them (Enrique and Jimmy) you'll love em. the hotel was nice although the pool gets crowded (not that we used it with the beach less that 10 mins walk away). The rooms are basic but clean and in good condition. The hotel is perfectly located just a short distance from all the best clubs and bars in town.
if you are looking for a classy holiday or somewhere to take the family then to be honest just dont look at Playa De Las Americas at all. However if like me you are looking for a lads / lasses holiday then this place is perfect and everyone we met on the beach/in the club also seemed to be staying in Oro Blanco.
The seemingly well known 'muggers alley' which many people complained about in their reviews is actually very nice and well lit with pleanty of plants and we had no problems in it. There are however 2 black prostitutes around that you have to be careful of, this is because they probably earn more money from pickpocketing holiday makers than prostitution. (if you see them just put ure hands in ure pockets).
if you have a pool view room then yes you to get noise in the evening from every1 playing music on their balconies and generally getting drunk in preperation for the night ahead, so if you want to avoid this there are 'golf course' view rooms. The downside of these is that yes, there is a reasonably busy road between the room and the golf course. What i didn't find on any of the other reviews was the room that we were given. it was a side room, overlooking the small rarely used carpark and the rather nice neibouring hotels. This room was quieter, slightly larger than the others and had a larger balcony than some of the others. If you get any say in it i suggest this room.
All in all this was the best holiday of my life. In fairness that was more the location than the hotel but seeing as Oro Blanco is located in seemingly one of the best places in the world i believe it deserves this great review.
If your picky, this isnt the place for you, if your just looking for a good time, you have found your calling.

Me and two friends (all aged 21) stayed her for 1 week in july and it was fantastic! the hotel was basic but always kept clean! It was big enough for all 3 of us and although there wasnt any air con the room was still cool! It was a 2minute walk from the nightlife which was great for us and the alley behind us wasnt scarey at all!! During our stay we didnt have any trouble and didnt see any prostitues and no pickpockets!
The nightlife was fantastic everyone was really friendly, although the PR's did get annoying!Wouldnt recommend O'neils though, very boring!
I wouldnt reccomend this hotel for families as its very noisy and full of us young folk , to be honest i think this is expected as it it so close to the strip.
All in all i would give this holiday and hotel 9 out of 10, staff were realli friendly!!!!.Esp Norris the security guard!!! :D

Me and 2 friends (all 21) stayed at the Oro Blanca from the 18th-25th July this year and it was the best holiday we have ever had! The rooms were spacious and well kept, cleaners came in every other day, the hotel staff were always really friendly and liked to have a joke with us! The majority of the hotel were teenagers and adults in their 20's so was really easy to meet new friends which we did on our first day and they really made our holiday :) We were a 3 minute walk from all the nightlife which was FANTASTIC! We were warned about "stabbers alley" which is situated at the back of the hotel and is a shortcut to the bars and clubs but we walked down it everynight and had no problems at all, we saw no pickpockets or knew of anyone who had any trouble with them and we saw 1 prostitute which we were also warned about. I wouldnt recommend the Oro Blanco to families or the elderly as it is very loud at night as no1 goes out until 11ish so everyone stays out on their balconys and in their rooms until then drinking with loud music (which was a great atmosphere!) The whole holiday was plain sailing nothing went wrong and the Oro Blanco was a great place to stay! We would definately go back!!x

The first thing we saw when we arrived was a young lout running around naked thinking he was amusing which i found inapropriate as we had young children with us,There were groups of girls and lads shouting from their balconys all night swearing singing at the top of their voices even at 6 ,7 in the morning it was non stop we didn't get any sleep the whole time we were there and were exhausted!! There were yobs throwing chairs into the pool from their balconys,and the sun beds into the pool shoes towels,they urinated in the flowerbeds around the poolside,and one group even through poo in the pool causing the pool to be closed after a child found it the next day!!! The security do nothing don't even know why he was there!!Complained to the reception several times to just be fobbed off.We were sold this as a family holiday it is definatley not suitable for families as there is always a pool full of rowdy youths often taking each others shorts off and running round naked in front of everyone even children, it is a 18 to 30s place.We also had the same towels for 14 days and the apartment wasn't cleaned they Didn't change the sheets either for 2 weeks!! I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!!!! Have stayed in many places in tenerife this is the worst in 15 years!!!!

Just back from a 2week holiday in Oro Blanco.Would not recommend it for families!!We are a family of 2 Adults and 3 Children,did not sleep for the 2 weeks we were there.Parties startad at 5 in the morning when nightclubs closed,security had a rough time trying to keep the noise down but there was so much noise coming from every direction it was impossible.Reception was crazy with complaints!Our towels were changed twice in 2 weeks and that was only after i asked them too be changed.The apartments have lovely big bedrooms.It is really a teenage/younge adult apartment complex who are there to sleep all day ,party all night
