great holiday
we got home from laguna park 1 on the 13th march i was sad to come home it was a lovely apartment not much to do for the kids though only a pool...............we had maid service 6 days a week clean sheets and towels ........didnt see 1 cockroach...........went on a lot of excursions loads of things too do the waterpark is great we got burnt ........weather was great all week didnt really go cold even warm at night ............best place to eat is francis restaurant really nice and cheap aswell, also bella pizza just over the road from laguna park pizzas are great.........we are going back again next year
Good and bad
Stayed here for 7 nights in Feb 2007-Party of 15-Adults and kids.My family stayed in block A, which was recently refurbished-No problem with the room, but noise on a night was unbearable Karaoke till 3.00am every night. My friends stayed in block C which had not been upgraded-It was an absolute dive. Pool was massive and freezing. Snacks were o.k and drinks were very reasonable. Harleys is the best food and The Ship is good for cheap breakfasts. 10 Minute walk to some nice beachs and millioms of bars and resturants to choose from. The weather was 27C spot on seen as it was snowing in the UK. Will go back at this time next year but not to this hotel.
Love Tenerife
Booked an apartment at Laguna 1 direct with private owner. Normally stay further up the hill but thought this would give our legs a rest as its more central. Didn't really as we just walked further & explored more! Weather was fab which is the real pull to Tenerife in Feb. Didn't spend any time around pool as full of noisy kids & saddo's who queue up at 7.45am waiting for loungers to be unlocked so they can put their towels down.. Walked down to the gorgeous beach & got loungers on the waters edge. Had a massage on my lounger which felt very decadent & enjoyed cocktails by the harbour. Thought Hotel was ok but basic. Going back next mth for another wk but staying at our preferred apartment which has a huge, totally private balcony & BBQ, and heated pool! I know, we've been spoiled & that probably is why we didn't enjoy it quite so much but Tenerife is great for a cheap winter holiday & you can always get your history & culture fix later in the year when everywhere's got the sun.
Ok Wouldn't Go Back
we have just got back from laguna1,we had a room looking onto the road and a sea view which was nice but as evening approached it got very noisey my two children were sleeping in the lounge which by 2 in the morning both were sleeping on our bedroom floor that ended up being the whole week, apartment was very clean though didnt see any cockroaches at all, staff really polite and helpfull, wouldnt let my kids go in the pool though there were a bag of chips at the bottom of it all week expect to have a early alarm call from about 2.30am onwards as the guests start coming back from night out,i am a night person myself too but i would consider others sleeping, restaurants outside hotel nice, avoid chippy over the road expensive and ransid chips,we hired a car as its a long walk to the beach with kids, loroparque is a must see and boat trip saw lots of dolphins and whales, at the end of the day we used the hotel as a base to stay, would we go back? no thankyou.....
great place to stay
I saw some good and bad reviews on this website and on holidaysuncovered. Naturally, I was concerned about the bad reviews having looked forward to this holiday for such a long time. But I needn't have worried. It was great. Admittedly, not the best hotel in the world but it was clean and comfortable and in a great location - what more do you expect for a three star? We ate breakfast most days at Francis' (must be after 09:30) and dinner at Mario's. We tried several other places including the hotel but kept going back to these. It's true what they say about the pool though - it's freezing. We stayed around the pool everyday but on the penultimate day, we walked along the beaches and just as I had thought, the sea was warmer than the hotel pool but we had a great time nevertheless. We bought tickets for Aqualand from the stall outside the hotel. Much cheaper than other places we had seen and we had a great time. Only takes 10 minutes to walk to it and 5 minutes of that is because you have to walk around the outside - you'll see it as soon as you cross the motorway flyover. Overall, a totally relaxing trip. What more could you ask for after the christmas rush?
Good hotel , ugly island
Booked and flew with Globespan - only downside was no movie / music onboard the plane and its a long flight. Hotel was really nice and i'd recommend it to couples or families Saw where Laguna Park 2 is and its up a really steep hill and felt glad i didn't book there. Was worried about cockroaches but i only ever saw 2 tiny ones in the appartment. i was self catering and you got plenty of plates, pans, etc and facilities - even an oven !!! (you can hire a toaster if you don't want to wait for the grill) Island is a bit ugly though , but busy - mainly couples in their 50's / 60's at this time of year. Looks too much like an English seaside town, selling the same stuff every fourth or fifth shop If you want to shop for clothes or electrical goods or just sit in the sun, then Tenerife is ideal. But if you want to see some culture and history , then you'll have to look very hard.
ok
Ok hotel, a bit old and tired. food good, bar ok but a bit small. Some rooms are on road side, which can be VERY noisy. pool good, entertainment good. Loads of cats every where, took ages to get out of hotel as the wife is the worlds best cat fusser ;) would stay again, if price is right
laguna park 1 brill hol
been back now for nearly 3 weeks, laguna park was brilliant deffo again!!! the only problem was the pool it was fresh from the sea so the pool was sea salty and cold it was actully warmer in the sea then that pool. the staff were very helpful and bin was our fav staff. the meals were nice and the servace was brill with gettin fresh towels every 2 days just would help if the staff new a bit more english (cleaners) the rum pot across the road is brilliant if you just want plain english bar thats great and a pizza and chip shop is across the road with 2 irish bars and a strip club. i would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good time and the night life is brill down the road is a bar called the news cafe but might have a sign sayin cocktails but its a great karaoke bar and if a man comes and asks about scuper diving do it we did and it was brilliant deffo go aagin
laguna park1brill!
we have just returned from the laguna park1 apts in tenerife .grt location entertainment every night in hotel was fab met some nice people weather brill was there for new year stayed in block c apts old needing renovated however they were spotless clean, only complaint was the pool was freezing!!! spent every day at the beach will certainly be going back to these apts for this new year
Great Location
Laguna Park 1 has undergone refurbishment recently that involved repainting and a new lift. Our room overlooked the Rumpot, is a good size and was cleaned most days and we were given clean towels every 2/3 days. The staff are helpful and the apartments are in a good location with everything you need practically on the doorstep. The receptionist Cef (Ceferino) is a charmer and I went on a few dates with him... really lovely!! The following I think are helpful to new travellers: Places to go: Harley's - Food is good and reasonable, nice surroundoungs and the cars of course!! St Eugens - has good acts and the compere Mike Carlton is a riot!! Temple Bar - Two blokes on guitar... great singers and good craic!! Places to eat: Marios - Can be pricey but ok. The Ship - Cheap and cheerful! St Eugens - Fast service and good plateful!! Scotch Corner - Good Scottish breakfast - recommended!!
