I just returned 2 weeks ago. It was great, just been with my husband; scenery was great and the people friendly.
A place where culture, food and the atmosphere is fabulous. We will def. return xx

This Hotel was excellent. We have 2 children and it is certainly friendly for families, with the largest family room I have ever seen.
The location is convenient only a 20 minute walk to the Acropolis. I would certainly recommend this hotel to other families or anyone wanting a luxury Hotel in Athens to see the sights.

Real Fine
Coming from the U.S. in a long series of flights, we wanted a super-pleasant place to set ourselves down, and we got it at the InterContinental. Our room even had a view of the Parthenon. This is a fine, attractive, but expensive place to stay. Surprisingly, it's in a working-class neighborhood, not within walking distance of the CityCenter or shops. But the hotel operates a free shuttle to City Center, and two blocks away you can catch the tram, and thereby connect with the bus and subway system. Rooms and baths are large, nicely equipped... more
Spacious rooms Poor location
The hotel public rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lots of art work (paintings, sculptures) has been collected and is on exhibit all around the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good in stylish and calm setting. Rooftop bar was far too small and its dining restaurant served good but highly overpriced food. Lovely view of the acropolis. Rooms were spacious, bathrooms large but reminded me of american hotels as the sink and bath were plastic. No view from my room. Downside is location. Hotel is on one... more
Watch out if you have to cancel your reservation at this hotel!
I booked this hotel several months in advance of my anticipated stay. However, due to a change of circumstances, I had to cancel the reservation about two months prior, along with a reservation for Intercontinental in Istanbul. I did so online, and confirmed several times on my Priority Club account that the reservation had been cancelled. Similarly, I cancelled a couple of other reservations with Hilton and Marriott in Athens and Istanbul. Rather "coincidentally" the cancellation confirmations for Intercontinental showed up on my... more
Didn't want to leave
I loved every minute at this hotel. My room was huge, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the service from all employees was exceptional. I have stayed at other hotels in Athens and this one is certainly far superior. In the future, I will only stay at the Intercontinental in Athens.
welcome to the twilight zone
We stayed in this hotel post-cruise from Crystal. We were absolutely baffled by some of the strange things that happened during our stay. First, my sister was also staying at the hotel. When I called to be connected to her room, I was told that she hadn't checked in. I told them that I was with her when she got her room. They said, "no", she hasn't checked in yet. Finally, after the third call to the front desk they begrudgingly agreed to ring the room that "she had not checked in to yet." Of course she was there. They then called her back... more
High Priced Diappointment
Our room at this hotel was booked as part of a package with Crystal Cruises. We paid extra for a room on the Executive (Concierge) level in order to get what we thought would be a more comfortable start to our vacation. Not so! The bathroom was so dirty, including the handle of the toilet seat, that we did our own disinfecting. We walked on towels. The lineup of fancy toiletires on the vanity was impressive until we opened the packages. Three were just empty boxes lined up for show. The iron, needed for a quick press, was out of... more
