Before going on holiday we read all the reviews and really didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! We stayed at the Louis hotel in Corfu a number of years ago and the Louis Princess in Larnaca was exactly the same - fabulous food. Breakfast and evening... more

Just got back from this WONDERFUL place. It is clean, modern, peaceful and friendly. We had a garden room 20 meters from pool and approx 70 meters from sea. Food was fantastic and plenty of it - lunchtime rush a bit crazy but give it 30 mins and the crowds disperse -... more

I would advise people who have children not to go to this hotel as the kids club is awful and the entertainment is embarrassingly nonexistent. People who want a relaxing holiday should go there. The staff are good and the food is fantastic. Rooms are clean as is the pool. ... more

Fantastic Hotel
My husband and I spent 2 weeks at the Princess Beach Hotel in late June and early July when attending the wedding of friends. In total there were approximately 30 people in our party with ages ranging from 7 months to people in their 60's. The hotel is superb and we have never experienced such great service before. We stayed on the 3rd floor of the main hotel and the room was very spacious and had great air-conditioning and a fridge which was very useful for keeping bottles of water cold for drinking late at night or early in the morning when the bars were closed in the hotel. The food was excellent and every night there was something to suit everyone's taste. Each night there is a theme ranging from Italian to Cypriot to BBQ night at the beach restaurant once a week. Long trousers are a must for men in the evening, most of our party only had 3/4 length trousers and this was deemed not be acceptable! The evening entertainment is average but is at the outdoor beach bar - ensure to take plenty of mosquito repellent and antihistamine tablets! The pool is lovely but contrary to other reviews not as cold as I would have liked after laying in the baking sun.The kids in our party had a great time both in the pool and at the kids club which ran daily. There does not appear to be enough sunloungers for all the guests and as the beach is pebbly and has no sunloungers most guests tend to stay by the pool if they are having a relaxing day. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Vicky from Ukraine who works in the main bar, she made our stay there great fun! Overall I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in, although there is not much to do in the surrounding area (which you have to cross a busy road to reach). Finally if you are a smoker and are buying cigarettes to bring back, the gift shop in the hotel will arrange to order in the brand and quantity you require saving the hassle of a trip into the main town.
wouldn't go back to Larnaca !
We choose this hotel for the Beach and Promenade as we love walking in the evenings, Hotel was Brilliant and so were the staff, it was just the location, the brochure says situated on a long sandy beach (What beach !!) it is just dirt and pebbles, very disappointing also no lucious green gardens as stated only weeds and stones also full of stray cats ! While we were there we had construction work being carried out from 7am to 6pm. Once you managed to get into the sea over all the pebbles (you need shoes) the water was lovely at 20c so spent most of our time in the water away from the noise, the weather was also great sun every day ! We would certainly go back to Cyprus but not to Larnaca. it is a shame that all of this has let the Hotel down as you couldn't fault the staff they were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food good but repeats after 7 days also men have to wear long trousers in the evening in the restaurant , will not let you in wearing shorts. going to Fig Tree Bay next year !
GOOD HOTEL GOOD FOOD
My husband and I spent 7 to 14.06.06 at this very nice hotel. The quality of the food was very good, with a lot of choice and themed evenings. Excellent pool, but got noisy and crowded on weekend and on Mon 12th (Cyprus Bank Holiday) due to the locals walking in off the beach and using the facilities. After customer complaints the management tried to stop any locals having access, with little success! Very popular hotel for British getting married, 3 couples during the week we were there! The sea temperature was wonderfully warm and very safe for swimming. Not much of a beach, would suggest taking 'water' shoes due to pebbles and shingles at entry to water. Good walking in both directions from the hotel. The hotel staff were very efficient, particularly the dining staff.
Excellent Hotel, shame about location
The Louis Princess Hotel is an Excellent Hotel but it's a shame about the location as there is not much around the hotel apart from a few bars and shops a bit grotty really. The Hotel complex though makes up for that though if you just want a relaxing holiday around the pool and hotel then you will have a great time. The Car Hire is expensive so book before you go on the Internet its cheaper we went to Protaros, Niss Bay and Ayiga Nappa for the day reallly nice area its a pitty you coudnt put the louis there, then I woudnt have any complaints at all. The food was 1st class at the louis, pool was one of the best Ive been too like one I'd stayed in in the carabean! The Beach was very narrow and pebbly but not the worst Ive been too, we had a superior room above the restaurant in the main building (classed as an annexe room with thomas cook) it was lovely, there was a lot of weddings on in the hotel while we were there mainly English. Weather was glorious aswell late 30's, cool breeze at night in the beach bar, oh and the entertainment wasn't that good. All in all if your looking for a relaxing holiday you wont go wrong in the louis!
Had A Great Holiday
We jad a great time at the Louis Princess Hotel. Ideal for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday and not wanting to stray too far from the hotel complex. Beautiful pool, but very cold!! Sea was much warmer -make sure you snokel near the breakwaters as there are some lovely fish there. Food was excellent - our 6 year old had 3 course breakfast, then burger and chips for lunch, then ice cream in afternoon, then a 3 course evening meal. Buffet style suited us really well and there was a good selection of food. Point to note is that men are requested to wear long trousers for evening meal. We went on a jeep safari into the mountains- excellent but not recommended for the faint hearted !!
Fantastic, even the doors are opened for you
We got married in Cyprus, Sept 2004. Stayed at the Louis Princess. We got a fablous end room with a balcony that went right around the side of the hotel. The staff were great, they couldn't do enough, especially one guy who just kept saying "hello, lady". I passed comment that you didn't have to lift a finger, even the doors out to the pool were automatic. The all inclusive deal was great, the fresh fruit was delicious. The rooms were lovely and the pool was amazing. Even the sun loungers were top class. I felt the entertainment let the hotel down but I could live with it. One thing really annoying was the childrens club in the evening, it was so repetitive..... I was planning to go back to this hotel last year but I had to cancel it on the day we were to fly out, my son got sick, but I will defintiely go there again.
RELAXATION IN THE SUN
We have just returned from the Princess having enjoyed the friendly atmosphere the comfort and above all the attentive staff we have been holidaying abroad for 25yrs or more and found this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at this is the first time we have booked with Saga Holidays and their Rep at the hotel Lyn was brilliant nothing was to much trouble for her We would throughly recomend this hotel and will definatly be visiting again
great pool
having just returned from a week in the louis princess larnaca id thought id check the reviews from previuos punters. how right they were. what beach, 4 star? no way, ants, smelly, average food, hopeless entertainment, gym 20years old nothing worked. staff great friendly and courtious. great pool on the whole a very expensive 3 star holiday
great holiday
Recently retuned form a very relaxing holiday at the Princess. It was worth paying the extra to have a room with sea and pool view. Our room was top floor of the main building and very quiet. Room not huge but all we needed . Point to note air con not switched on until May 1st however hot it is! Food was good and plentiful. The all inclusive drink menu was fine. All staff friendly and helpful. Beach disappointing but happy to spend our time at the lovely pool. Enjoyed many tours We were with Saga. Most memorial was the boat trip to Egypt to see the Pyramids.
Four star - you must be joking
Just arrived back from a two week visit to Cyprus having stayed at the most recommended Louis Princess in Larnaka. Having arrived late on a Sunday night, I was pleased when we pulled up to find the a pleasant reception area, friendly staff and a pool to die for. However, the joy was short lived when i opened the bedroom door to find a room which was nothing like it was described on the website or brochures. The room was a decent three star and that it being a generous. The bathroom was full of the previous occupants hairs all over the bath and sink. The bathroom reaked of urine which was I later discovered was a problem with the general wastage system in the hotel. The room was also filled with ants and was very dirty. The quilts were like like old fashioned rugs and god knows what was living in there. As for the beds, I would have been better off sleeping on the floor. The towels provided are raggerty and worn and often frayed around the edge. Four star these bedrooms these are not and other guests I spoke to also confirmed that they felt let down the bedrooms. The fitness room might as well not exist as nothing works and the equipment must be at least 15 years old. The food was generally good, but can be quite repetitive if you stay on the A.I package and the wines/spirits provided are not of a four star quality. The staff are very helpful and polite to end on a positive note
