Thank you for it. Personally, I also thank you for posting your comments about our ocean access and location. We too believe Reid’s is positioned perfectly, allowing access to all and an escape from anything. Such is the dual nature of our location…it’s perfectly suited to meet any demand. Equally, our views are one of our most celebrated features. So, I am most pleased that you had a chance to enjoy them so completely. As your response pertains to constructive remarks, I want to thank you for your note about our bathrooms. Improper grouting is not our standard. So, I am pleased to address this with our maintenance team. Furthermore, as it pertains to seeing the island, I empathize with your remarks about your taxi driver. The hotel is aware of these practices and does not encourage them. I am sorry that they exist in our destination. However, please note that for this reason, our Guest Relations team develops our own tours. They are designed with the needs of our guests in mind and offer an insightful ways to experience the best of Madeira. I am delighted that our staff was able to exceed your expectations. As it pertains to children, please know that Madeira as a destination and Reid’s as a hotel always welcome families. Let’s just say that the average age of our guests does change dramatically with the seasons. The time of year that you visited, February, schools are still in session. As a result, our guests tend to be more mature. If a family environment is sought, I would be most pleased to welcome you to Reid’s during school breaks and summer. Our hotel and island take on a very different ambiance than winter. Reid’s has many programs and discounts to make a family’s holiday both enjoyable and affordable. So, I will be pleased to share your compliments of our staff’s attention to service with them. With this said, please note that I do not dismiss your constructive critiques. I personally address each, and only wish that I could have more information regarding your stay to investigate the concerns you note. For example, we have recently invested millions into the hotel to ensure that it remains at the top of its game, both in the guestrooms and the public facilities that you enjoyed. We believe that history is a guide of what we need to accomplish. It is not something that we rest upon. I can assure you that your experiences in our food and beverage departments and your room are neither the norm nor what we deem acceptable.
