Didn't get what I paid for

I stayed 7 nights paid for a double room and got two single beds (sole traveller) I was ripped off!
Would also not recommend if you want a quiet holiday. Air conditioning units in rooms are noisey and vibrate. You do not get a good night sleep. Food and drink way overpriced! Stick to the bars outside the hotel. Food is better! Breakfast included means continental only, you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast and every time you sneezed!

Me and my husband got married at the Elysium in July it was perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean spacious and has nice decor. The pools are really nice too. We stayed bed and breakfast and there is so much choice in a morning of what to eat, there was champagne available every morning along with tea, coffee fresh fruit jucies etc.
Staff were very polite and helpfull, as to were the porters.
The hotel food and drinks were a bit expensive but you get what you pay for the service and quality you could not fault. Every evening the maid came round with a sweet and clean towels which i thought was nice.
My wedding - Raj was brillant he organised everything so we didnt have to worry. The florist, disco, and photographer were perfect. I would reccommend the bbq buffet what we had for the meal there was so much food and choice to be honest we wasted a lot as there was to much.
On the day i had my nails hair and make-up done in the spa and its well worth the money the girls are lovely and make you feel really special.
Out and about we went to the harbour a few nights which was about 7-10 euros. Bar road is really good i especially liked flaires and baywatch bar for cocktails. There is also more competition at the harbour so restuarants seem to be cheaper.
Back at paphos nearer to the hotel there is a good english bar next to kfc which is value for money and good for children. A must is Fat Mamas ive never seen portion sizes like it in my life. Coral bay is about a 20 min drive away it cost over 20 euros so i would reccomend the airconditioned buses which are every 20 mins and cost 1.50 euros.
I couldnt complain about the holiday in anyway, would love to be back there now.

An excellent hotel! We stayed here for 7 days/nights with a view of getting married next year at the hotel! We both found the hotel of the highest standards and the staff very pleasant.
It was both our birthday's during our stay and we were treated by the hotel to a bottle of bubbly and a chocolate birthday cake!
Dining was lovely, food was easy to take to, as was the service - our flight home was later than our checkout time and the hotel gave us the room free of charge till late hours!
Lovely scenery throughout the hotel, fantastic gym facilities and we also treated ourselves to a head massage!
Not the cheapest hotel but well worth the extra few pence - beach was also fantastic!
Outside the hotel are a few more places to visit if you like to walk!
No bad things to say about the place really except not really a place for energetic kids! We have just booked our wedding for next year for 17 nights and cannot wait!

We have holidayed in Cyprus many...

Jan 2008, Mrs V White

We have holidayed in Cyprus many times and I can honestly say this is by far the best hotel we have used. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were provided with an excellence of service which is sadly lacking in most holiday hotels. Every member of staff took the trouble to acknowledge your existence and nothing was too much trouble.
We were celebrating our silver wedding although we had not made any reference to this at the time of booking. The maid had obviously advised the hotel that there were celebratory cards in our room and we were presented with a superb cake and bottle of champagne.
The food in the hotel was of a high quality and there was always a good selection on the breakfast buffet. The hotel was busy when we were there but there was never a problem finding a sun lounger and the pool staff would re-position your umbrella and lounger if they were not in your preferred position. One little extra which was most appreciated was the iced towels that the staff brought round the pool at about midday.
We stayed in a side sea view room. the room itself was spacious and well equipped. The hotel has a lovely spa with superb beauty treatments and for those who still like to keep fit on holiday a well equipped gym. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and certainly hope to return myself before too long.

Wow!! What can I say! This hotel was amazing, pure luxury….. I would say definitely a 5*+ !!
We went out to Cyprus in June to get married and had a cheap hotel (Kissos Hotel, also highly recommended) for the first week and for our ‘honeymoon’ week we stayed at the Elysium Hotel. The weather during our stay was perfect and the daily temperature was no less than 30 degrees celsius, but it was lovely and cool in the evenings
When we initially arrived at The Elysium we were greeted by very friendly staff and throughout the whole holiday they went out of their way to make you feel special and comfortable at the hotel. Cynthia in guest relations especially!! We stayed in the Royal Studios, which is part of the Royal Suite, the room was beautiful and very stylishly decorated. We seemed to get bottles of champagne delivered daily from either the hotel or friends whilst we stayed here! On the night of our wedding, when we arrived back to our hotel early hours of the morning- the staff had decorated our room with ‘Just Married’ banners, balloons, sprinkles etc.. Plus the following morning they delivered us this amazing gourmet breakfast in bed, which consisted of scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, fruit platters, pancakes with maple syrup and walnuts, pastries, champagne plus much more!! We really were spoilt!!
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis at the hotel, the breakfast selection was huge, and you really struggled to choose! I especially recommend the pancakes and waffles! We had dinner here in the The Epicurian Restaurant which was buffet style on a couple of occasions, again the variety was amazing, they also have theme nights which change daily.
The hotel has a few pools, the main pools are for people staying within the main hotel. Plus a Royal Pool which is exclusive for people staying within the Royal Suites (no children allowed!), most days we had this pool to ourselves as not many others seemed to use it! There are staff at hand constantly, for example if you tried to reposition your sunbed, staff would come rushing over to move it for you! You literally do not have to lift a finger! Plus whilst you are relaxing by the pool/beach waiters bring you drinks. One of the swimming pools has a bar you can swim up to and sit and have a drink and snacks!
The hotel is situated in a perfect location, just off the Tomb of The Kings road in Paphos. If you do not want to eat at the hotel there are plenty of restaurants/bars just a short walk away on the Tomb of The Kings road. Kings Aphrodite restaurant I recommend! Paphos harbour has some lovely restaurants too. Also the Tomb of the kings is right next door to the hotel so you must pay this a visit to see some culture!!
Overall the hotel really is amazing and you would not be disappointed if you stayed there, its not cheap but it is perfect for a special occasion especially a Honeymoon!! We definitely will be going back for many years to come!
P.S. If you are thinking of getting married in Cyprus, our wedding co-ordinator was a company called Cyprus Dream Weddings who are based in Paphos, they did a brilliant job and definitely created our ‘dream wedding’!
Hope this review helps!!

We choose to stay at the Elysium for...

We choose to stay at the Elysium for our wedding and honeymoon. The hotel is far the best in Paphos and is situated close to a number of excellent restaurants including Olivetos, Artios and Chloes.
The hotel service is what you expect from a five star hotel, the rooms and public areas are very well maintained and attention to detail is evident throughout the hotel.
I would recommend using the guest relations desks to help you plan your holiday and make the most of your stay in Paphos which can appear at first a fairly bland and tacky resort.
We had our wedding reception at Zaffrons - the organisation, management, service, surroundings and food were fantastic, infact the food was even better than that served in the Elysium, which took some beating. I would recommend this venue to anyone wanting something special for their wedding day.

Very luxurious and a real treat....

Feb 2007, Mrs M C Chambers

Very luxurious and a real treat. However the hotel was very set apart and somewhat isolated.
We would consider the hotel to most suit older couples or honeymooners as there wasn't much laid on for families.

The hotel was very large and spacious with fine restaurants, all at a price.
When we went the hotel was very quiet.

Rooms without a sea view overlook wasteland and allotments, if now not built upon...
Local restaurants and cafes are a plenty and the bus runs from the top of the road.
All in all a nice relaxing hotel with the best of everything, lacking a little in atmosphere and energy at what we considered, to be a high price (even booking independently).
