We were impressed with many aspects of this package holiday. The MyTravel airline arrived early both to and from Portugal.
The resort itself has an absolutely beautiful beach many, many miles long. Although it was built solely as a holiday resort, it has been well built with a good pedestrian area.
The resort is surrounded by pine forests which have some really good paths for walking through. The restaurants were very good value for money.
We were there at the start of the seasons so not all of them were open. The ones we visited did some fantastic seafood. If you want culture and architecture then this isn't really the resort for you. However, there are plenty of places to visit in the surrounding areas.
The apartments were spotless and they came and cleaned them every day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was fairly small but again very clean.
The only downside was that the cash machines always run out of money at the weekend, so make sure you don't run out on a Sat or Sun.

I'd never been abroad before, unless you count the Holy Island of Lindisfarne that is! Dreading the fortnight turned out to be a total waste of emotions. The CALEMA was immaculately clean with friendly staff. Carla and Jorge just have to be two of the most accommodating people I've ever met and that's not saying that the other members were any less helpful.
If I wanted to improve the place, what would I do? Add a little heat to the outdoor pool I suppose but then, that's no big deal. In summary; Squeaky clean. The most friendly staff. Airy and spacious.
Oh, of course, Jorge, the bar manager makes 'rusty nails' (Scotch whisky and Drambuie) to die for! See you all again in May 2006 - we're coming back for more!
George and Helen.

Just back from a week stay in Calema apts, staff very friendly and apartment very spacious, cleaned everyday, linen and towel changed once a week for a 1 week stay. Downside smelly noisy drains in apt on few occasions, problem solved when water ran. Also no elec. toaster or kettlle, take your own if possible.
Very quiet resort, 12 miles of stunning beach, good restaurants ie Eurobar, le Croissant and Monte Gordo restaurant, Tony's burgerbar for drinks. Tony's a great guy makes you very welcome. Take trip into Villa Real only 35min walk on straight road, or 5 euros for taxi lovely little town, take the ferry from there to Ayamonte in Spain only 15 min ride for less than 2 euros. Also do the bus trip into Seville well worth the visit for the cathedral alone very busy but beautiful city.
Great relaxing holiday, will return.
