Westgate Flamingo Bay Hotel

I purchased a room rental for Westgate Flamingo Bay on Oct. 12, 2004 for the evening of Friday March 11, 2005. This purchase was done way in advance (5 months) due to knowledge that it was going to be a busy weekend in Las Vegas (due to Nascar). When we arrived to check in, we were informed (rudely, I might add) that due to some lack of incompetence in finishing the buildings in time, there was no place for us to stay. While we were shipped to another hotel (Hampton Inn - on the other end of the strip), and offered a refund of our money we paid for the hotel room (haven't seen this yet however), this was completely unacceptable for many reasons. We were given no explanation as to why we were the ones chosen to go to another hotel when we know that others who booked rooms way later than ours were given the rooms (we believe it's because we paid less for it - we got it through Orbitz). The people in our wedding party who did get to the rooms were really nice... but good luck getting it!

We stayed at Westgate Flamingo Bay, Las Vegas Feb 05. The grounds and condos are beautiful especially is you are lucky enough to have a 2 bedroom. We have been to Vegas many times and the Strip is cool...but no need to pick a hotel on the Strip. Further, Westgate is only minutes from the stip on Flamingo Road and right up the street from the Rio and Palms! Best to rent a car I think. I highly recommend this resort...if you can get in plan early!! All update appliances and fireplace is nice. The pool is heated to 80 degrees in the winter and not heated in the summer. If you don't rent a car they offer free shuttle to and from the strip and limo service if you like!! We had a tour scheduled and it was not too bad at all...not overly pushy as they can be. The grocery store either "Food 4 Less" or "Smiths" are right up the street. this is great because you can save money of course and not have to leave out early for breakefast. Enjoy! We stayed here Jan 22-25 and were pleased with what this facility had to offer. We were not bothered with time share sales people. We had a 2 bedroom condo on the second floor, which was nice as far as noise, but was a bit inconvenient for carrying luggage. The unit had a fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, a jacuzzi in one of the bedroooms, 3 TVs, in suite laundry to mention just a few options that will make this a place we will stay at again.

What an incredible find!!! We shared a two bedroom condo with another couple, and were stunned with what we got for the price!!! This is a timeshare complex that is about 2 miles west of the strip on Flamingo Road. BUT, we were not bothered by any of the staff regarding buying anything (I wouldn't even have known it was a timeshare complex if I hadn't read it on their website). The staff was great, the maids and security guards were extremely friendly, the condo was immaculate. You have to pay extra for maid service (we opted out--I don't mind making my own bed), but they bring you fresh towels daily. The condo even had a gas fireplace and a HUGE jacuzzi (easily could fit 3-4 people) in one of the bedrooms. The only complaint (and hardly that!) was that the water pressure was poor in the bedroom with the jacuzzi. The complex offers a shuttle to the Strip from mid afternoon until I believe 2am, with three stops on the south end. Also a plus, it is a guarded complex, so anyone who enters must have a parking pass or a guest name. I will definitely stay here again!

What a treat! We spent 3 nights there in January 2005 ... Beautiful condos, beautiful grounds and pool area, a secure and private piece of heaven in hectic Las Vegas. Our 2 bedroom unit was very clean and beautifully appointed with the added touch of a gas fireplace for cooler winter evenings. Everything you would need from 3 television sets, to lots of extra towels, to diswasher and laundry soap (for in-suite washers and dryers) is there for short term or extended stays. It is about 2 miles from the strip but only a $11 cab ride if you chose not to use the resort shuttle which is available from 1pm to 2am. The staff were gracious and accomodating. Food-For-Less, Marie Callendars Restaurant and convenience stores are less than 5 minutes away by car or within walking distance. Excellent value!

I just got back from a 2 night stay at the Westgate and it was great! I had a party of 8 in a two bedroom condo -- 3 adults and 5 kids! My family was very impressed with the cleanliness and the size of the rooms and we didn't feel like we were all on top of each other. We cooked breakfast in our kitchen and had enough utensils to cook french toast, sausage, eggs, toast and cereal. We had our own car so we didn't need the shuttle. It was nice to have the security guard let us in at night. We were very impressed with the stereo system and the DVD player. I had to sit through the sales presentation, but it was no problem because my family all ate for free while they waited for me. I would recommend the Westgate to all my friends. Lori Briggs Troy, MI

My parents, daughter and I stayed at Westgate in April. I had an awesome experience. The condos are beautiful and spacious. And being off the strip was good for the family. Only downside is that it wasn't especially child friendly (2 year old!), except for the washer and dryer which we used nightly!!! Also, remember that this is a timeshare resort so they will try to sell you. I own a Westgate property in Orlando and find the resorts to be top rate!

Westgate Flamingo Bay was an awesome place to stay! We were concerned before going due to some of the bad reviews but had already paid for our trip and decided to hope for the best. It was great! Check-in was easy, we got there early so they stored our bags for us while we hit the pool and laid out to get in a few hours of sun-time. The condo was absolutely beautiful. There were a few little things like a ceiling fan that didn't work right and a closet door that didn't slide properly but nothing major or different than anything you wouldn't find in other hotels. It was a perfect place to stay in Vegas because we got up early, laid out by the pool in the sun for a few hours, went back to our condo, fixed lunch in the wonderful kitchen, showered, took naps, and then got ready to hit the strip at night via the free shuttle! Shuttle driver Tom was very nice and so helpful with tons of information and tips on where to eat and what to see. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing trip or better accomodations, especially for the price we paid. Stay at Westgate Flamingo Bay...you won't be disappointed! (Only bad note was that there does seem to be a bit of a palmetto bug problem down by the pool at night...ugh! But we didn't see any inside the condo the whole time.)

we just got back from a stay at the Westgate Flamingo Bay and it was the best place we have stayed in vegas...and we have been many times. we had a party of six in a two bedroom apartment and it was clean roomy and just a all round great place to stay. i would recomend this place to anyone, not to far away from the strip and the staff where great! if you want a good place to stay you won't go wrong choosing the Westgate Flamingo Bay.

October 22, 2004 We , there were four of us, have just returned from a conference in Las Vegas. Needless, to say it was informative and enjoyable. However, the real highlight of the trip was our stay at the Westgate Flamingo Bay Hotel. The 2 bedroom cond had all the comforts of home and then some. We have nothing but good things to say. The staff was polite and efficient. The grounds were well maintained and even though there was some construction in progress we were not hindered or overcome by excess noise of any sort. We have agreed when we return to Las Vegas either as a group or solo this is where we'll stay.
