My husband and I have just returned after a one week break at the Roada Oasis and would struggle to find any complaints. This was a late deal and we were not expecting anything other than basic accommodation. The welcome on arrival was very pleasant with Costas carrying my case to my room, my husband managed his own. After unpacking we returned to reception and decided to hire the fridge for the week, which I thought reasonable at 30 euros, we declined the air con as it was cool enough at night. Rooms are very clean, along with the pool area and bar/reception area. Breakfast was 2 slice of toast with butter and jam and one slice of cheese and ham, tea and coffee and orange juice also provided, for what we paid we found this adequate. For those with a large appetite they could have a full english breakfast for an additional 4 euros or an omellette for a couple of euros. The first morning we arrived a couple were complaining that they thought the english breakfast should be on offer at no extra cost, not sure why some folks go abroad!!!! Prices were slightly more expensive at the hotel than the local tavernas but I don't think this is unusual. The owners, Costa and Nicos were very pleasant throughout our stay and we didn't spend a whole lot at the hotel. We had lunch twice, very reasonable prices for good quality salads and crusty bread. We only popped into the bar twice for a nightcap but this around midnight and the place was winding down. We were told the Greek night was good fun and at 20 euros seemed good value but we didn't attend. Overall a very good holiday and I would go back again.
- Advice: Don't expect an English Breakfast - you are in Corfu - relax!

Like the parson's egg, The Roda Oasis is good in parts.
The good news is that the hotel is clean, the rooms are cleaned daily, except for Sunday but this is common in Greece and Cyprus. The linen is changed every third day so you do have to hang out your towels if you like a shower in the morning and one before whatever you want to do in the evening.
The two brothers, however are their own worst enemies by being over friendly and over greedy.
I knew that the fridge and air-con were charged locally and the rates that are being charged this year are five Euros per day for the fridge and seven Euros per day for the air-con. As I like my drinking water cold I paid the Five Euros per day for the fridge. We chose not to have the air-con as is was not that hot at night.
Our next door neighbours told us that the rental of kettle was fifteen Euros for two weeks, a new one is about eight bought locally, and they were charged ten Euros for a six pack of water, which in the supermarket was only 1.60 Euros, is in my opinion pure greed.
What I had not planned for was a charge for a Wi-Fi connection, when nearly every bar and restaurant offered it free. I took a decision not to use the hotel for anything else than a place to sleep.
Some mention must be made of the breakfast. Diluted orange juice, two slices of toast with a slice of meat and a slice of cheese. I was able to have two slices of cheese as I am a vegetarian but as my wife cannot eat bread we asked if we might have a piece of fruit for breakfast instead. This we were told was not possible so my wife had to forego her breakfast completely. And then there is the coffee. For a country that makes the most wonderful coffee drink, the hot brown liquid that is served must be an extremely distant cousin.
Overall, The Roda Oasis is a nice hotel, spoilt by its owners. We used it as a base and have explored most of the island, only washing and sleeping there.
I would recommend Roda as a small, tourist friendly resort that, as yet, is not too big. It does cater for the British tourists who want chips with everything but also for those who want to try the local cuisine.
A special mention for Sandy's Arms. A quiet bar, no hassle, no big screen, no pressure but a host that will take the time to talk to you, if you want.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Roda Oasis on arrival it seemed a nice hotel. We booked a family room under the impression it would be more spacious but their idea of a family room is still a one room apartment with a bunk bed put in there also! not very good if you have older children and also cuts down on the limited space there is. You have to rent a fridge at the cost of 30 euros a week there is not even a kettle in the room but suprise suprise they will rent you one this is also the same for a room fan and air con but didn't ask for prices of those items as after the price of the fridge I was scared it would cost me a kidney to rent anything else. The pool area is quite nice plenty of sunbeds but the pool is small and very cold.Late rooms cost 40 euros each or there is the option of using a shower room at the cost of 4 euros but as I was told by Costas one one of the owners this included a towel (I felt so lucky!!!) all in all average accomodation but the owners are the biggest money grabbing people I have ever come across. The resort of Roda is excellent best places to eat are Crusoes for breakfast and the Roda Park Inn for evening meals the owner and his family make you very welcome and the food is out of this world.
- Advice: Roda is a nice resort second time there and would go back.

Recently returned from Roda, third visit in 5 years. The main beach in Roda has reduced due to natural erosion to allow only 1 rank of sun beds along the beach, whereas 5 years ago there was at least 3/4 ranks. However this is not a great problem as it makes the beach quieter. 2 x Sunbed +umberella cost 8 euros per day.
The beach is very shallow for at least 100m from the sea starting, clean and warm, ideal for families with young children and elderly people. It is however, a little pebbly along the shore line.
There has been some business closures since our last visit in 2008, the victims of the recession are mainly brit owned young business'.
The best value for money family run Greek (serves English too) restaurant in Roda is the Roda Park, run by Costas and his family, the fish is fantastic, bought fresh everyday, friendly and excellent value for money.
The supermarket opposite Roda Park is the best place to buy cigarettes and alcohol from.
Taxis are available from the corner of the beach near the Aphrodite Hotel.

Mosquitos are bad this year as the towns have not been sprayed. essential to take some form of antihistamine tablets and antiseptic creams in your case to prevent unnecessary discomfort.
Top Tip: buy mosqito net x2 before you travel ( lidl £3 ea) then hang in front of your patio window at night this saves money on air conditioning and keeps the little horrors out.
A good holiday will return again next year. Hope the prices have helped.

The Roda Oasis is a clean hotel. Rooms were clean and substantial. You do have to pay extra for everything but i knew about this before we left. The two brothers were friendly enough but make the rest of the staff hassle you for drinks which i didnt like. If i want a drink i am quite capaable of asking. They are very money grabbing. Interesting that they were known as the fleece brothers! Cara the breakfast girl is lovely and very hardworking. Found a local bar about 10 mins walk along the main road. It was excellent. Got a free mezze when you bought a drink. The drinks here were excellent and really cheap! 1.50 Euro for a beer compared to 2.50 in hotel which went flat really quickly. Roda is lovely and not changed at all. still very reasonable. Would not stay in this hotel again however because i dont like to be hassled the whole time for drinks. Greek night was rubbish! Free unlimited wine ha. I was lucky if i got 2 small glasses! Ok as a base!
- Advice: Try somewhere else.

On arrival we were met with Costas, very polite arrival, hotel was very clean cleanest we,ve seen in Corfu. We were self catering ( this consisted of two rings that took an age to warm up and a toaster, a kettle and two pans and some cutlery and crocks, to be fair were offered some extra for the family which was kind) and the other family members were bed and breakfast(what breakfast! 2 toast and a slice of ham and cheese butter jam orange juice and tea or coffee. To start with hotel helpful, and suggestive of their saturday greek evening, you almost felt bullied into and at 20 euro not cheap. Costas continually moaning about the greek economy. Meals on an evening were expensive and not at all well cooked only had two and then spent the rest of the holiday eating at the Roda Park. The beds were like iron and on the last night we slept on airbeds and swetted in the room as airconditioning was 7 euros a day, the bottled water was more than 1.70 euro and you were not allowed to drink bottled water around the pool from anywhere else considering the water from the shop across the road was 1.80 euro for 6. We had to cancel the greek night the night before as the cigerate smoke from the bar and eating area had affected our two daughters chest and throat, Costas was rude and sugested our daughter go to bed at 9.00 p.m from now on that was the last conversation as Costas and some other staff refused to speak to us and found a basic hello very difficult to say! So if you spend plenty the hotel will make you welcome at all times and you can sleep on a rock and dont mind boiling at night you will enjoy yourselves. We will not be going back and this is a shame as Hara and cleaners and bar staff very friendly and kind.
- Advice: Just to use as a base take an air bed to sleep on

We have got back today from 11 nights at Roda Oasis. We had a brilliant time. Roda is a small quiet resort in June / early July. Not sure about later in season. The Roda Oasis is a very very clean well kept place to stay, slightly out of town centre - about 10 min walk. Costas and Nikos are very welcoming and friendly as are the lovely staff they employ, especially Cara, Jackie and Nathan. I would not have any hesitation in going back again. The apartment we stayed in was fairly basic but then the holiday wasnt expensive but it was cleaned 5 times a wk, fresh towels 3 times a week. All in all a brilliant place to stay. The pool area is lovely and the gardens are kept beautifully. Greece is fairly expensive at the moment, and only real complaint was mosquito's, take lots of strong mosquito repellant but Thomas Cook cant control that. Thomas COok Rep at HOtel was great also, lent us her hair dryer for whole 11 days as ours broke on first day.

Arrived to a warm welcome at 6.30pm by Costas who was on reception.Bar was open for a drink and room was ready and spotlessly clean, you wont find any cleaner rooms in Greece. You had to pay for fridge and air con,we had fridge wasnt to warm for air con.Pool area and bar are also spotless, gardens are lovely,a man comes everyday to water and maintain them, they dont spare the water, and the cleaners wash down around pool every day.Dont believe a bad word about this hotel, the staff are super, food is good, and beer isnt to expensive if you dont drink a lot.Bar lad Nathan was english student on working holiday,he had been going for years with parents etc,he didnt pester you to buy drinks he was trying to make your stay more relaxing, try Turkey they pester you to death.Beach is about 20mins walk if you take your time like i have to these days, but roads are flat, beach is sandy and clean, raked most days, and there are bins everywhere,so no rubbish.
Bars we tried where Big Ben (on the prom),Sandys Arms (on righthand fork where bike shop on corner)and Pirates(on prom near end of jetty).I like cider so 3.50 euro for a pint of draught at Sandys and Big Ben wasnt to bad.Go see Sandy for a nice chilled out drink,no loud music,tv,etc just nice background music,Ian the bar man is a good laugh, hes like Bob the builder and AL Muray in one, dont get him on soap box.For a good english meal try Maggies next door but one to Sandys bar,be warned portions are big and food is excellent, not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.Roda Oasis food is good value for money if you cant be bothered to go down town.Soup each, chips and club sandwich shared is plenty for two some days we found.Have a nice holiday, would recomend Roda Oasis to anybody, will return when possible with more family, airport transfer was only downside, but views there and back are brilliant. PS forgot to mention Nikos is a lovely man also, always says hello and doesnt pester you,the old man, papoose just hovers in background, and he can smile.

I can't believe some of the reviews I have been reading. We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Roda Oasis. The hotel is very clean and friendly. The two brothers Costas and Nicos are brilliant and made our holiday. They make a point of getting to know you. I read the reviews before I went...about how they don't want to know you if you are not spending your money in their bar. I observed this while I was there and it is a load of rubbish. They are polite to everyone there. The greek night is definitely worth going to...a brilliant evening. Also while we were there I would say half of the guests have previously visited Roda Oasis on several occasions...this says it all. A brilliant holiday and we will definitely be returning. We first visited Roda in 1997 when the place was an up and coming new resort. We met Costas and Nicos at this time as we used their hotel facilities whilst staying in nearby self catering accommodation. We also took our holidays to Roda in 1998 and 2000 and attended numerous Greek nights at the Roda Oasis Hotel. My wife and I returned to the Oasis in June 2009 for a 5 day short break. Nicos recognised us almost immediately and made genuine references to our previous visits approx 10 years before. We received a great welcome from Costas and Nicos and really enjoyed our short stay with them.
We ate in the restaurant 2 nights out of 4 and found the food to be excellent and very authentic. The hotel is very clean as is the pool which is constantly cleaned on a daily basis. There are more than enough sun loungers for all and the prices at the pool/restaurant bar are approx 20p more than in town - i don't see that this is a problem as some people suggest. You are made to feel like part of the family by the 2 brothers and i find it hard to believe some of the other reviews disrespecting them and their hotel. Take my word for it, i have been to Greece 14 times and this is a very good place to spend your summer holidays. Yamas !! Tony & Tracey

Just back from a week at the Roda Oasis I could not recommend this hotel any higher. We arrived at 12.30 in the morning by a friendly greeting from the staff. We were appointed our rooms however ours was not ready and we thought this is the start of it-its going to be a bad hotel. Finally got in to our apartment and was so happy with what we had.
There was myself, my husband, my sister and my 5 year old the hotel staff were fabulous. They took to my son so well he did not want to leave. I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel in my life if there even is one.
The Greek night was so much fun we were all up bellydancing they make sure everyone is involved.
Again best holiday ever will def be back next year!!

returned yesterday fron the roda oasis. 1/07/11-08/07/11
you would not find a cleaner accomodation. it was spotless everywhere. the cleaners and staff are very well organized. Nikos and costos seem to take grest pride in there business. Thomson recently started to use them and are out to impress. Air con fridges, and safe deposit boxes are chargeable as in most hotels so this come as no suprise to me and the wife. we stayed on a Bed and Breakfast deal and as others have commented on it's just toast ham cheese jam tea coffee etc, the same each day, you can have a full breakfast for 4 euros. they do a full menu to have in the evening and a snack bar during the day. the prices are a little higher than you would pay at other places, but overall not too bad.
3 euro a pint. down the front in roda between 2 and 3 euros. the owners make you feel welcome and we was realy pleased with our stay ther and would go back
