" best holiday ever "
Submitted By: kaycusackThere was myself, my husband, my sister and my 5 year old the hotel staff were fabulous. They took to my son so well he did not want to leave. I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel in my life if there even is one.

" Just spent a week at the Roda Oasis... "
Submitted By: Mrs M BrownA good trip to organise yourself is to the Hydro polis in Acharavi. Its only a short bus ride away. The bus fair was 1.40 Euros each and admission to hydro polis on Mondays and Thursdays is 22 Euros for adults and 18 Euros for children. This is all inclusive free drinks all day and food from 1 til 4. It was excellent and plenty to choose from, also free ice cream. But don't book trips through the reps as they cost three times as much.

Submitted By: Miss C SugdenI went with my son in March and first impressions! Clean and friendly!! that is until they suss you don't prop up the bar like some clientelle! The more you spent the more you get fussed over! As the 5 oclock club! ( Old soaks from LEEDS )
Nikos and Costos hav a nack 4 remembering names which is a good touch, but you are definately aware of the falseness as for the father well he doesn't even crack a smile.
The staff ( pipa ) who runs the bar along with Nikos couldn't make you feel more at home lovely girl and works really hard for her money we were told by another couple that it wasn't a good idea to give tips to the bar staff ( pipa ) as they were told all tips hav to b handed in to the brothers and split... so we got her a pressie instead..
Greek eve, well don't bother you can go into sidari by taxi 12 euros and see a free show and have a meal they had us dancing in the street.. Great fun.
We heard some shabby stories whilst we were there! single mum with 2 children one girl about 9 and a baby no more than 15 months so on a budget! she had to share 2 single beds with both children as she couldn't afford both the fridge and a cot!!! wot would it have hurt to give her a cot no other babies were there?? Good will????

Submitted By: Mrs R RobertsThe morning after we arrived we enquired about air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a fridge for the two weeks we were to be there. We were astounded to be charged 200 euros for these facilities - and this is when the warning bells began to ring.
At breakfast we were told that the half-board only allows you to have a "continental breakfast" ( 2 slices of toast, one butter, one jam and a disgusting slice of processed ham and cheese - I don't consider that to be a continental breakfast). If you wanted an English breakfast then you were to be charged an extra 3.50 euros per person per day. Extortion!!!!! When you can get a much larger and cheaper breakfast in town - a five minute walk away.
The evening meal we were subjected to consisted of the same choice of about 3 starters for the whole two weeks and usually 2 choices of main course. The puddings were a joke! Tinned fruit - when there is an abundance of fresh fruit grown on the island - pathetic!!!
The evening entertainment consisted of quiz, bingo, karaoke, quiz, bingo karaoke.......... and a Greek night which cost you 28 euros per person - we had already paid half board but we were still expected to pay for our meal on Greek Night. The dancers were mediocre and the food was terrible. The "free wine" lasted about 5 minutes.
Everyone we spoke to at the Oasis was disgusted with the service there. There were people who had to pay extra for a travel cot for their room when the management already knew there was a baby coming. There were people who were having to pay45 euros to keep their room past midday on their departure day. You even had to pay to use the pool shower - 4 euros per person.
The ethos of this hotel is definitely pay extra for everything. You began to feel like the brothers who ran the place had their hands permanently in your pockets. Once Costos and Nikos realize that you are not going to spend all your hard earned money in their bar then the Greek charm soon vanishes. We soon began to eat elsewhere and to drink elsewhere. The restaurants and bars in town are much cheaper and serve much more substantial and attractive meals - especially Maggie's place - what a restaurant!
The brothers, Costos and Nickos are well aware that they are "money grabbing" but don't seem to care. This is a place I will most definitely not visit again and warn anyone who has booked to consider changing their minds. - stay away!!

Submitted By: Miss S BonhamWe have a early morning flight so didnt depart fron the hotel until midnight we still had to vacate our room at mid day to keep a room on was a extra charge off 40 euros or a charge of 4 euros just to have shower per person evertthing was MONEY MONEY MONEY in this hotel , the last day we were in roda i started to have a atshma attack and had left my hand luggage in a couples room that we met i asked if i could get my pump from the couples room and got told NO , also i met a diabetic who needed a fridge for his insulin yet again a life or death situation and he still had to pay for his fridge but instead of 70 euros was given a discount of 5 euros for the 2 weeks WHAT A JOKE !
if you are planning on staying in this hotel/apartments dont get pulled in by the charm of nicos and costas cause it dont last .the entertainment is kareoke, bingo and quiz nights thats ya lot in the hotel .
Roda itself is very quite not alot to do but great if its chill out holiday you are going for eat at maggies its the best food in roda .

Submitted By: Mrs S OwenI have been going to this Hotel every year for the past 10 years. The Hotel is perfect No complaints at all. The food, the location and especially the people. Costas, Nikos and family are one of the most family orientated families I know. They make you feel so welcome you feel part of their family. People say all they think of is profit, but I'm not being funny but if it was your own family business would you not want the Best. I certainly would.
If you want a relaxing holiday with your family this is the best place to go.

Submitted By: Mr G EvansThis was the best holiday me and my wife have had in years.
we spent very little, loved the hotel, loved the service, loved the village, loved the people.
I cannot fault it at all. even though the weather was awful, we had a great time and met some lovely people.
We will definately be coming back soon.
thank you to Nikos and costas for making us so welcome and you certainly did not 'money grab'. If you want to see real money grabbing, stay in a hotel in England!!

" My daughter and I went on holiday to... "
Submitted By: Ms C WeirEveryone from Costas and Nicos, Elena, Marion, Dora right along to the ladies who cleaned our room every day, provided us with excellent service and a relaxing but fun holiday fortnight. We ate several times in the hotel and thought the meals were excellent and not overly expensive. We also had excellent food in town, particularly at the Odysseus and the Roda Park.
We come from Scotland and are used to paying realistic prices for good food - I can't think of anywhere - other than "golden arches" type restaurants - where you would pay less than the £25-30 equivalent which seemed to be our going rate at the Oasis for an excellent 3 course dinner for two including drinks.
I think reading some of the other comments that the British abroad seem to expect something for nothing. Continental breakfasts are the norm abroad and an additional charge of the equivalent of £2 is not unreasonable if you want a cooked breakfast - even transport cafes here will charge about £5. Coupled with the beauty of Corfu and the many places to go and visit we will definitely return and hopefully to the Roda Oasis.
" Good facilities & restaurants in... "
Submitted By: keelanHotel was very clean, however the 2 brothers running it were over friendly & seemed to think about profit & taking as much money from guests as possible.
There was a good selection of restaurants & excellent value for money, better than the hotel.
The beach was adequate although we spent minimal time there; it was clean & fairly quiet.
The nightlife was very steady & plenty of bingo & Karaoke if you like that sort of thing, (we didn’t).

We ate in the restaurant 2 nights out of 4 and found the food to be excellent and very authentic. The hotel is very clean as is the pool which is constantly cleaned on a daily basis. There are more than enough sun loungers for all and the prices at the pool/restaurant bar are approx 20p more than in town - i don't see that this is a problem as some people suggest. You are made to feel like part of the family by the 2 brothers and i find it hard to believe some of the other reviews disrespecting them and their hotel. Take my word for it, i have been to Greece 14 times and this is a very good place to spend your summer holidays. Yamas !! Tony & Tracey
Advice: Island Paradise - excellent bar, Oscars,
Activities: Pirates for breakfasts,
