Our credit card was debited with over $400 for golf by the golf organiser even tho' the golf had already been prepaid. Despit numerous calls/e-mails and promises, the cash has still not been refunded over 2 months later even although copied in the manager Completely unacceptable - would not recommend - watch out.

Great Pool !!!!
We stayed at the Hard Rock for the pool. We had read and seen reports about the pool being among the top 10 pools in Vegas. We would agree -- we had a great time. We arrived on Sunday afternoon in time to take in Rehab at the pool. They allow local people to come in for a price so I would say 80% of the people there were not staying at the hotel. A wide range of age groups it was fun to just sit and watch the people!!! We rented a cabana for Monday for $100 well worth the money. We had a TV, refrig, safe, and excellent service. It was nice to have a place to get out of the hot sun. We highly recommend the pool!!!! Enough about the pool -- the rooms are nothing special !!!! Since we were there Sunday to Wednesday we got a good rate on the room $79/night. Which I don't think I would pay much more than that for the room. It was clean but we have stayed at Super 8 that was just as nice. We think they need to have a set of rooms for the more mature responsible adults to stay in!!!! I'm sure they don't do much to the rooms because most of the people staying there are young and there to party and they don't care what they do to a room. The Casino area is kind of small -- there wasn't a lot of people there during our stay -- I'm sure the weekends are very busy!!! We ate at Mr. Lucky's twice for breakfast is was good. We also ate at Simon it was good but nothing special. If you are looking for a quite hotel go somewhere else the Hard Rock is not for you. But if want a fun place to hang out at the pool listen to good music then you might consider the Hard Rock. We would go back but not on a weekend when they charge over $200 for a room.
A Birthday to Remember
This was a great way to spend my birthday! The Hard Rock is cool, fun, and has very good food. The rooms are clean and comfortable with nice linens and bathroom amenities. The BOSE wave radios and bathrobes are nice touches. Mr. Lucky's and the Pink Taco are great places to eat and drink. The staff at both are very friendly and courteous. The only reason I did not give this hotel 5 stars is because the front desk staff at check-in and during the stay had an attitude. Otherwise, a very good first-time experience. I would stay here again.
24 hour Happy Hour
In true Vegas style, action 24/7. Although a convention kept us from enjoying the pool in the evening, the manager allowed us to check out late in order to enjoy the pool before departing on our last day. Security was fantastic as we had 2 separate confused partyers attempt to enter our room. Diner has great burgers & good breakfast. The pool is everything you have read about. Not for the faint of heart or self conscientious. spend the money & rent a cabana. Room costs were $209 Saturday & $159 during the week.
Lots to see......but
It can get expensive. I'm talking mainly about the restaurants... We ate at Mr. Lucky's twice and even for a cheeseburger with fries it can be pricey. The pool on the other hand, is really nice. Once again, the food and drinks out there are outrageous! $4 for bottled water!?!? And that was just the small! It was 8 dollars for the large bottle. I had one beer out there and it was 5 bucks. Ok, no problem, but it wasn't even a full bottle of beer. Eye candy was nice. Be sure to get there as early as you can. Pool opens at 9 a.m. and by 10:30 it was crowded! Tried getting into the new nightclub, Body English. No luck there. Grand opening night. Line was long adn they only pick out hot chics to go in there. We waited 2 hours on a Friday night and the line barely moved. Read somewhere it only holds 600 people. On the plus side, rooms where nice and beds were very comfortable. The hotel is also off the strip. Don't even think about walking to the strip. You're gonna have to take a taxi to get anywhere but there are shuttles that leave the hotel every hour up until 7 p.m. Come here if you're young, don't mind crowds, loud music., and have $$$ to blow.
We had a GREAT experience
I would have to say the negative reviews here are not at all what I encounter. Three friends and I stayed here for two nights the third week of March 2004 and we had an absolute blast. I felt the service in the whole building was tremendous and we were always treated with much respect and we were a bunch of 23-24 year olds who were just out to have a good time. Definitely a young crowd and our 2nd day spent pool side at their infamous pool was one of the most fun times I had in a very long time. The pool is everything it is cracked up to be and then some...yeah, the drinks are spendy but if you are going to have a good time in Vegas your going to pay a lot for your drinks anywhere you go. Guys...the women at this pool were absolutely beautiful and if you ever go you'll know why me and my friends didn't want to leave that day. As far as the rest of the hotel...our room was great and very well taken care of. The casino/bar scene is fun at night when everyone starts showing up. There was always alot of people at this place and we were there on a Wed. and Thurs. night. The only complaint I would have is that we were not informed the dance floor at Club Babies was closed due to remodeling/construction but the club itself was still a lot of fun but I think we missed out a little with half of the place being closed. All in all...we had a great experience at the Hard Rock and would recommend it to anyone and it would definitely be a consideration to go back to whenever returning to Vegas.
Great to visit...not to stay
We stayed here Feb 6-10th. We were in Vegas last year and ate at the Pink Taco and thought it would be a cool place to stay. It really wasn't worth the money and you have to walk forever to get to the strip. The lobby/casino is always crowded and trying to get your luggage through is a nightmare. We love cool hotel rooms (Loews hotels, etc.) and these were just plain and institutionlike. I love modern, but I don't think this was modern...I thought it just looked cheap. The 24 hour restaurant was awesome as was the Pink Taco and Starbucks. The walk to and from the Strip was not fun. I guess I just expected something else. We have stayed at the Hard Rock in Orlando (I know not owned by the same company) and that is the coolest place. This just couldn't compare. I have heard the pool is really cool, but it wasn't open when we were there. Great place to eat and explore, but wouldn't stay here again. Rather pay less money to be on the Strip in an "uncool" hotel.
Not much luck at the Hard Rock Hotel
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel last summer and won't be coming back to lodge here again. The decor is fun and the casino was busy. Our room was one of bigger hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. We never got a chance to go to the awesome pool, so make some time for it! There's a coupon book that you receive when you check into the hotel. Mr. Lucky's Cafe was a good place to eat, especially late at night. If you want a good, sweaty workout, try walking to the Strip from the Hard Rock. Make sure to check the concert lineup if you are planning to stay here. We were very sad to find out that the Norah Jones show was sold out the day we arrived. However, one night the room stank like marijuana from the air vents and the hotel sent a maid up to spray our room with some worse smelling chemical disinfectant. We used the in-room internet service for one hour at $6 and was charged for two hours. The staff corrected the mistake right away. When I got home and reviewed my credit card bill, I was charged an extra $6-7 after I checked out for drinking the expensive bottled water provided in our room. We never touched the bottled water! Who would be crazy enough to drink this water that costs $1 in the supermarket? The hotel took two weeks to return my phone calls.
High Roller Event - You Can Be Bumped
I jsut came back from an "offer" by the casino...the "well suited weekend" was its name. In return for my usual play, they were to have a tailor on site to custom make a suit for me, and other gambling guests.Pretty cool, huh?...Well...long story short, I booked far in advance and everything was set. I arrived after the 5 hour drive from LA, only to be informed that I was "bumped" from the event! Of course they apologized, and told me my room was of course still available...I was furious! Free rooms for gamblers are everywhere...I put the time aside for this RSVP'd event, and to make matters worse, my "host" informed me of all this in front of a group of other gamblers in the VIP check in of the hotel. Needless to say, I left humiliated, (although with my gambling stake intact), and immediately checked out for another casino who would never reneg on one of its loyal gamers. Beware. The casino is small and looking for players due to the demographic draw of the Hard Rock image. They will say and do anything to get players in the door, and then, as evidenced here, they can unilaterly shut you out at will.
If you love cigarette smoke, Las Vegas is for you
The hotel is fine for Las Vegas standards, which assumes that cigarette smoking everywhere doesn't bother you. Las Vegas is one big discarded cigarette butt. Smoking is allowed and encouraged everywhere. Casinos, restaurants, taxis, shuttles, malls, bathrooms. It even smells like stale smoke in the nonsmoking rooms, which we had. The room was a standard view (not of pool or strip) for $315 a night. The bathroom was small with one sink, and the grab bars on the tub are placed such that you whack your shin easily getting in and out of the shower. The lighting in the bathroom is terrible. Also, the water pressure in the shower is nonexistent. The towels are tiny and they only give you two per room. The room is decorated with puke green carpet and purple curtains. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is about a mile from the "strip". I can't believe that Las Vegas promotes itself as a family destination. It is better known as Sin City. No liquor restrictions and legalized prostitution make the omnipresent gambling seem tame. I've never been in dirtier american city: trash everywhere, including everpresent cigarette butts, discarded beer cans, and millions of naked women phone sex pictures. As you walk along Las Vegas Blvd, there are people pushing the phone sex pictures in your face every five feet, even if you are a child. The taxicabs were the filthiest I've ever seen. We had to go there on business, and will never return for pleasure. What is the attraction with this place?????
Not bad, Not great...
Stayed at the Hard Rock for five days during the first round of the NCAA Basketball tournament. Rooms are nice, nothing too fancy but certainly decent. Even numbered rooms have a much better view - including the pool and strip. I didn't experience any of the "attitude" everyone complains about, and I was looking for it. The casino is small though, and I was irritated that during one of the biggest weekends in vegas they didn't open an entire section of blackjack tables - this left everyone fighting for a seat on Saturday night. Speaking of small, the sportsbook has four windows, so you can plan on waiting in line for quite awhile when there's a big event going on. There are maybe 20 seats in the sportsbook. Bet minimums are $10 at blackjack, moving up to $25 at peak times. The pool is incredible. The food is good. Service was mixed as far as drinks went.
