Comments:  What an excellent site. Early September is a good time to visit. The weather was perfect. We went with 2 pre school age children (3 years and 9 months). The site is well appointed for this age group and I couldn't fault it at all. I'd read the reviews on here before going so was able to look out for the previously mentioned pro's and con's.

Our accomodation was basic, 2 bedroom caravan. It could have done with some more kitchen utensils, but we found this in other more 'top of the range' caravans too! There was no air con but there was the option to hire fans, which we did and found it perfectly adequate. The Siblu staff were very helpful and efficient if not overly friendly, although they were probably more end-of-the-season tired than rude (it was Siblu's last week).

The first night we went to the Sports Bar to eat. It was very busy and we waited over an hour to be served our food. However, the supervisor did apologise to us for this wait and assured us that it was because everyone had travelled that day and came out to eat rather than cook themselves (as we had too) and that it was usually much quieter and quicker service. This proved to be true. The staff were friendly with good English and the food was delicious. Our 3 year old also found other children to play with on the ride-on toys, which kept him occupied whilst waitng for his tea.

The Blue Moon Gellateria was another excellent place to eat, with ice-creams to die for. Again the staff were friendly and helpful. The selection of food was good in all restaurants with plenty of choice for children. The shop on site was good with a good choice of essentials and prices that were comparable to other local stores. It was worth a trip to the local Supermarkets for a wider selection and they are only a few minutes away by car.

The pool was really fabulous and mostly shallow enough so that the 3 year old could stand up. At it's deepest probably about 120cm? It had slides suitable for all ages and a stage in the middle where the staff performed dance routines which the children all joined in with. Also exercise classes were held as well as circus skills classes. The Siblu reps had inflatables, buckets, spades, books and all sorts, that could be borrowed. I would say that if we'd had teenagers they may have been bored quite quickly by the pool though. There is a 25m and 50m pool. The site is right on the beach which is a good option for teenagers.

The local town, Caorle, is lovely and people seemed friendly. We took the 'dotto train' on a Wednesday evening which takes you in to the town square. It's 20 minutes on the train and you get a couple of hours before it brings you back again. Highly recommended.

The site was extremely clean and tidy. There was a mosquito problem which we were advised about on arrival but with the use of sprays we received minimum bites. Plenty of shops for gifts or newspaper and postcards. There was a lot to do on the site which we couldn't do because our children are so young, bike hire, crazy golf, football classes, inflatables and bouncy castles. You don't need to leave the site. We'd definately go back.

Comments:  first time at campsites abroad and this one was fantastic! swimming complex is excellent - plenty of room to sunbathe can do for free on the lawned areas round pools or if want a sunlounger can book one for holiday at a cost. went with 10 and 9 yr old and they loved it. felt very safe and were able to relax whilst kids went off and did their own thing. mobile was OK but would reccommend that you ensure comes with decking and shade if you can afford it. All types of accommodation available and you can book direct. Park mainly made up of german and dutch - small amount of english which we found a plus!!! recommended! I think will be hard to get better next year....

Comments:  First holiday with Siblu in Italy, absolutely brilliant. We stayed 10 days which wasn't long enough! Accommodation was fine, the Siblu reps were very helpful & friendly, they made you feel very welcome. We took our 2 lads aged 14 & 16 who had a great time. The entertainment was a bit repetitive, probably better suited to the younger children but this did not spoil the holiday as not something we would normally worry about. Swimming facilities were superb, take-away pizzeria in the 'village-square' was great. Everything was reasonablly priced with a small supermarket which has everything you would need for a self-catering holiday. Would love to go again but is already fully booked for 2009!

Comments:  We love this campsite and have booked their own maxicaravan for the last three years. The site is very clean and secure, customer care is excellent and there are good value shops on site and nearby in Caorle. The kids love the pools and seaside and run around quite safely in the evenings. Its easy to drive or get a bus and ferry to Venice and we have explored the towns of Treviso, Bassano del Grappa and Belluno. My husband loves cycling and brings his bike on the plane, and has made lots of friends amongst the other cyclists. The roads here are a lot less busy. The majority of visitors are German, Dutch and Italian but we've noticed more English are coming each year. The only minus point are the mosquitos! take tropical strength spray with you, the Italian stuff doesn't work!

Comments:  This was our second visit (and review).
Visiting in August the park is VERY busy and didn't seem as nice as it was in last year in May.

The sports bar this year was much improved, better run but we did find that the overall service throughout the park was generally slow and not that good. One waitress at the sports bar kept getting delivering food to wrong tables!

The staff at the "Bazar" where even worse this year in that the way they stare at you and there are many more of them!

The internet computers where either broken, the net was down or had queues so if you need to do online checkins etc then go to Caorle and get online there; much cheaper and no queues.

You have to have a golf handicap to use the nearby course (or lie) but you can use the driving range.

The Disco bar runs until 4 am so you get the thumping bass drifting across to the Siblu caravans. If you can't sleep due to the heat then this gets very annoying.

We stayed a couple of nights in Venice which is MUCH better than doing a day trip. The day trippers go home around 5 so it becomes very quiet after that. The water taxis where €95 euro this year!

That's it for us and Pra Delle Torri, been there, done that... Next!
(definately going back to Venice...)

Comments:  I will try and give a pros and cons review of the above, purely as constructive advice.

We rented a 3 bed mobile home for 2 weeks through Siblu. Not getting air conditioning was a mistake, but Siblu don't offer it as an option, and other operators, such as Elle Vacance do, but only had 2 bedroom units. Re Siblu, while the reps were pleasant and helpful enough when you asked them questions, they could have been more pro-active in offering general advice, and talking to their clients to check how they were getting on.

The site was large and well planned, with loads of restaurants, cafes, gelatterias, small supermarket, fruit and veg shop, a bank (get a safety deposit box for 50c per day), internet point, as well as tennis (I think there were 4 or 5 excellent hard court tennis courts), table tennis, crazy golf, basketball, soccer pitches, kids playground etc. The adjacent golf course is very good, and testing enough for even the best golfers, but in spite of the discount for site residents, can be quite expensive if you also need to rent clubs. Discounted green fee was €36, clubs hire €15, trolley hire (recommended!) €5, and if you want to enter the Sunday competition, an extra €20. If there are 2 or more of you to pay for, it gets pricey! Bring lots of golf balls too, plus tees, glove, etc.

We rented bikes for a week which were a great addition for scooting around the place, especially for kids, and are a pleasant way to go to Caorle for a trip, as there is an excellent cycle path all the way. Not much in Caorle though, other than tourist shopping and restaurants and a beach.

The best restaurant on the site was the Sports Bar, and the service was good, especially if you strike up a relationship with your staff (not always easy though!). Menu choices were OK, and prices were also reasonable enough, and pretty much standard everywhere.

The place closes down to traffic for "quiet time" between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm, and from 11.00 pm to 7.00 am, so if you plan to go anywhere during these hours, or if you have an early plane to catch, you need to plan ahead and leave your car outside the site gates outside these hours.

Venice was a 'must-see' trip, and it really was a beautiful place. Our reps advised us that the best time to go was around 4 pm, as most tourists leave around then and it gets much quieter, and more pleasant to walk around. We packed a big picnic (bring loads of cold drinks) and drove to a nearby town (can't remember the name, but 30 mins away), caught the train into Venice, right into the centre. I would recommend getting a single fare ticket (€6.50) on the water taxis, and take the boat all the way down the grand Canal to the last stop (the Lido), but stay on the boat and go back one stop to the Gardinieri (a beautiful tranquil garden area) and have your picnic there. Then take your time and walk back through The Piazza San Marco, and on up through the tiny streets, getting lost many times, and arrive back at the train station for a train back at around 9.40 pm. That's enough for the kids and adults!

Other than Venice and Caorle, the other good trip is Aqualandia, a decent water park about 40 mins drive away. Get there by 10.00 am, and as well as the rides, watch the shows, they may seem a little cheesy at first, but they are excellent.

In summary, on the upside, the facilities at Pra Del Torri were very good and should cover most needs. On the downside, there is not much else to do in the area other than those discussed above, and few notable places of interest to visit, especially in teh short 2 week window available.

One general moan about Italy was the confusing and badly organised way they serve people. In many shops you must first queue to pay for what you want, then take your receipt to another queue to get what you bought, and sometimes more than one queue! We were also there during the final matches in Euro 2008, and the Sports Bar (nearest for us and our favourite) had loads of staff behind the bar, but they all managed to look busy without achieving much, and the service that night was terrible. One good Irish barman and a few helpers could have run the place smoothly and kept everyone served much better!

I would recommend it for a visit, but won't be going back myself; there are far too many other places I haven't been to yet, and life's too short...!

Comments:  I totally disagree with the above comments!

i first went to Pra Delle torri 3 years ago, and usually I like to try new places but we have actually returned 3 times. The atmosphere is brilliant and there is something to do for everyone whether it’s eating and drinking, getting active or nightlife.
my two teenagers have made huge groups of multi nationality friends and find that although there is not so many English people about the Dutch people in particular make a huge effort with English and are very friendly

The park is very clean and has a friendly buzz to it and I extremely enjoy every aspect of the holiday. Evidently the previous commenter took the wrong route to Venice as you can catch a ferry from Caorle or drive about 40 minutes towards lido de jesolo and catch a quick 10 min ferry and you’re in the centre of Saint Marco!

I would defiantly recommend this park to anyone- off all ages!

Comments:  We stayed with Siblu; the accommodation and reps were very good. We had a family bereavement during our stay and received fantastic help, support and advice from the reps.

The site is very good, the main pool is great for kids as it's not very deep and there are "proper" pools also for more serious swimming. There are also many activities around the site that we didn't seem to find the time for!

We always made the effort to speak Italian first (me with my phrase book) and found that the staff seemed to appreciate that and where helpful and encouraging.

In one particular shop the staff are VERY odd and watched their customers like hawks but most of the shops where ok and perhaps a little pricey. Saying that, the supermarket was ok, it closed a little bit too early in the evenings but if you have a car then there are some good supermarkets 5 minutes down the road.

We also did a daytrip to Venice but it makes for a tiring day. We drove down to Marco Polo airport and then took a water taxi from there. The water taxi was €70 and the "bus" was €12 each return. The taxi is so much more fun though!

There was a public holiday at the end of our stay and the camp filled up but there was still room around the pools and at the beach. You have to pay for sun beds at certain times of the year.

We probably will go back at some point as we did enjoy our stay.

Comments:  Although the camp was quieter as we were out of season, I can only add how rude we found some of the retail/restaurant /bar staff.

The sports bar was the only place with friendly management.

Don't order take away pizza from pizzeria unless you enjoy a 2 hour wait and being pushed out of the way when complaining!!

Comments:  Was a little apprehensive having read the previous review but I needn't have worried.

Pra' Delle Torri is a great place when holidaying with kids - we love Italy but have previously gone to quieter places but our 5 year old is a bit more demanding these days so we compromised - Italian culture (especially food & wine!) for us, but activities for him.

We had tried to book directly but all the sites own caravans had gone so we booked through Eurocamp. It was quite a bit extra for no real added benefit (the reps weren't particularly great) so if you're thinking of going try direct first

The site itself is massive but is very clean and very well organised. There facilities are good - shops, restaurants, bars etc. So much so that we struggled to get the motivation to go into Caorle (4 miles away) for more than a couple of nights out. The swimming pools are fantastic, especially for younger children. Myles had a great time on the 'baby karts', it pays to buy your tokens for these in bulk.

Admittedly, there were very few Brits there but I personally don't see this as a problem (in fact could be considered an advantage!) though it did mean that was quite difficult for Myles to make friends as the kids are obviously not as good at learning English as their parents. Did not come up against a single language problem with any of the staff who were all (bar one exception) extremely helpful. In one of the gift shops I agree with the other reviewer you did feel as though you were being watched but in reality this is just a lower tech form of CCTV!

One thing that really surprised me was the prices on the site whether in the restaurant, supermarket, greengrocers etc. I had expected them to be quite high considering they've got a captive market but not at all. Everything was very reasonable.

The nearby town of Caorle is pretty unremarkable to be honest, especially if you've experienced the likes of Tuscany, Amalfi, Sicily etc. but it has a nice beach and a few reasonable shops and restaurants. It is an easy drive into Caorle with free parking about 5 or 10 minutes walk out of town. There is a water park and fairground by the car park. On a Saturday there is a large but not particularly good market on the site of the car park so if you fancy it take the bus (plus if you fancy a few drinks on a night out) which stops right outside the site, and the bus station in the town is right next to the market. I think the cost was Euro1.50 per person each way so doesn't cost a lot either.

We went to Venice for the day which I had hoped would be a shorter journey but maybe it was just the route we took - we drove to Punta Sabbione which took 45-60mins then another 45 minutes on a ferry. It made it quite a long day, which couple with dragging Myles around, meant we only did it the once. Also went to Lido di Jesolo for the day which again was a bit uninspiring.

One word of warning. We had big problems with mosquitos whilst out there. There is obviously a problem as they 'disinfect' the site twice a week, so take plenty of mozzy spray. We'd forgot and the stuff they sold on site didn't seem particularly effective and wasn't that cheap.

All in all, a very good holiday.

Comments:  What a great site, having done quite a few of these holiday parks in France and Italy, I was not disappointed, the facilities on offer on this park are vast, especially good for younger children as the pools don’t just cater for teenagers.

At night there is a mini fun fair and bouncy play area, lots of places to eat on site all at good value for money.

The road network to Venice is straight forward and a must see if you can get there. Overall a fantastic place to stay

Comments:  We visited the site during the last week of May. The site itself was very clean and well maintained. Our mobile home was near the sports mans bar. We did not know that the bar had loud music playing each night till 1.00am. The park brochure stated that the camp is patrolled by security staff and that music is not allowed after 11.00am. This is a joke!

We found the retail staff to be very abrupt and unfriendly. The shop keepers followed you everywhere checking to see if you were shop- lifting. This created a bad atmosphere. The restaurants were very basic and the menu choice was limited. The staff were generally unfriendly and could not speak or understand basic English. The only exception was the main restaurant where the manager made an effort to explain menus etc.

The shops close between 12.00 and 4.00pm. The children’s club was managed by staff who understood very little English. The majority of visitors were German or Danish nationality. The heated indoor swimming pool did not exist. The water in the main pools was very cold, but it was late May.

If you are traveling via treviso airport check out the rude assistants in the airport coffee bar. "Welcome to Italy" - I think not! Our next holiday will be to turkey or the Greek islands. We are guaranteed a warm welcome there. English/Irish holiday makers be warned! (Unless you can speak fluent German or Danish). Goodbye Italy we won't be back.

Just a couple of old moaners? These comments are constructive. Customer care in Pra Delle Torri get 2/10.
