" value fmoney! "
Submitted By: kirkbyscallyWent for the terrazamar purely because of the reviews and it is a good hotel and good value for money. we were there over christmas and enjoyed our stay, cleaned to a high standard each day, all the usual amenities and extras for small additional cost etc
Only one small problem with the cistern which was promplty sorted by the 24 hr staff
The resort itself is lovely, surrounded by mountains with hotels built into them all around, 2 beaches one of which is man made but both nice, the island is warm and sunny all year round but summer months I'd assume are beautiful and hot, we had a warm sunny 24 degrees on the beach xmas day ! all rooms have a large terrace and get better the higher the floor as the view gets better, overall? nice well-maintained family hotel with good staff close to all you need for a great holiday! pay no attention to the whinging people who go on about ridiculous things like cockroaches (saw one in a week) cooking rings etc. one thing though.... Puerto rico is very hilly! so not for the unfit!
If you go Enjoy!
The Doyles ;-)
Advice: Its beautiful, but very hilly!
Activities: Many nice restaurants, boat trips and scenery
Good for: Beach

" fantastic.. "
Submitted By: sangreen1we had read about the hotel previously and that the rep there (rich) was first class. we had the pleasure of meeting him at the airport and the whole 2 weeks after that had many dealings with him, we all feel he is an asset to airtours what a guy.
the resort its self was in need of a little refurb but that didnt stop us from having one of the best holidays. we really cant wait to book again for next year.
thank you thomas cook for a great stay.

" Just got back from a week staying at... "
Submitted By: Miss C WyattCommercial centre close by and cheaper for those self catering, we shopped at spar and found that was much cheaper than the supermarket at the complex. There are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, we were told the picasso restaurant in the Europa centre was excellant although we didnt get chance to sample it?
Local beach about 10 min walk from the apartments and approx 3 euros in a taxi, Amadores beach bit further out and bigger and approx 3.50 in a taxi. We tried both of the beaches and would recommend either as both pretty similar.
Foto Elite 11 is near the harbour at the local beach and was the cheapest we found for spirits/tabacco.
Palmitos park is good for a day out and costs 16 euros for children and 22 for adults and Sioux city on a friday night was good, 49 euros includes bbq, drinks and shows etc.
As mentioned in other reviews it is best to get in all lifts to avoid stairs and if you have children staying with you take control of the tv remote after 11pm!!
Overall we had a fantastic time and would definately recommend the terrazamar, we will be back next year!!

" Went to Gran Canaria for the first... "
Submitted By: Miss S BlizzardThe facilities at the hotel were good, bakery and shop very useful and not too expensive, it is a bit cheaper to go to the super market but not by much. Pool was lovely easy to get a sun bed any time during the day, pool bar wasn't bad had breakfast one morning not much variety on the menu but it was ok for a snack.
The shopping centre was only a short walk away and had lots of different restaurants and bars, you did get hassled to eat in every restaurant you walk which did get annoying but it's not too bad. San Maguels, bubbles and Cafe Central were really nice but we didn't have a bad meal there. The best restaurant we went to was by Puerto Rico beach by the shops near the boats to the right, there are restaurants above the shops and Oscars was brilliant, very good food - a bit more expensive but well worth it!!!
Aqualand and Palmitos Park in Maspalomas are really good days out, very cheap to get the bus to from the station about 4euro for two people one way and not too expensive to get in, we did get caught out coming back as we didn't check the timetable so I'd recommend doing that!!

" Me and my family have just arrived... "
Submitted By: Miss V ClarkThe appartments are quite spacious and the balconies are massive! We got all the basic things required although you did have to pay to get most channels on the tv and to get air con. Other than that they were great.
There was 1 main pool and a small kiddies pool situated on level 10.There was lots of sun beds but not enough parosols to go around. The pool area was very slippy so you have to be careful but other than that its great. The pool bar has great food but a little pricy! Though the breakfasts go on till 12 o'clock and their really nice.
The entertainments team (Dale,Lois and Annie) are fantastic!!!!They keep the kids and adults entertained all day long with round the pool activities then when it gets to 8 o'clock it's time for the mini disco with lots of songs and games followed by bingo and lucky 13!Then at 10 theres the proper entertainment with either professional singers or acts the entertaintment put on themselves!Whatever it's great. Also the Panorama Bar staff are great with a special mention to David who was fantastic all the time we were there!!!
It's only about a 5 min walk down to the main shopping centre which has lots of shops and food restaurants and bars.I recommend to eat at places that look busy because if they dont it usually means it isnt nice food! There are also a few mini golf courses to do which we loved to do a lot.If you want to get up to the Europa Centre it costs around 3 euros to get up to in a taxi but the bottom centre has a lot more places to shop and eat.
The only complaint I have to say is the reception staff are very rude and never have a smile on there faces but other than that we had a fantastic time and definately recommend the Terezzamar Sun Suites! We will definately be back next year!!!!

" I have just got back from a 2 week... "
Submitted By: Miss H ElliottThe apartments are very spacious, ideal for families and the balconies are massive. They whole complex is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The entertainers in the complex are fantastic, they always keep the kids entertained and the adults too!!
Make sure you are ready to do lots of walking though as Puerto Rico has lots of steps! But there isnt much need to leave the complex except to look around.
We spent a day at Amadores Beach and I would recommend it to everyone, although avoid the weekend!
I noticed some people have commented about the suncare advisors. I had a totally different experience with them. On about the third day of my holiday I came out in prickly heat. I had heard the suncare advisor talking and decided to go and speak to her. The advice she gave very good and she was very informative. I purchased the factor 15 and 8, the the aloe aftersun and the tea tree gel. All the creams worked really well and within three days my prickly heat had dissappeared and I could enjoy the rest of my holiday. I was sceptical at first but I am so pleased I spoke to her.
Overall my holiday was excellent and my two children really enjoyed too and made lots of friends whilst there. I would go back there again.

" Just returned from a weeks self... "
Submitted By: Mrs R ScottOverall most comments I read here were a good representation of what we found. We stayed in the Royal Sunsuites block which is at the top of the hill the third of three blocks. There are three pools and on most days there was no problem obtaining sunbeds despite the no reserving rule (only one problem on a Sunday when quite a few Spanish appear, don't know if they are locals just making use of the pools etc)
Our room was very clean although a little small for 4 people of adult size but fairly comfortable. Air conditioning is a must and could be hire for approx 30+ euros a week (why it does not come free I don't know?, well I do really its just another way of getting more money from you)!!
Food round the pool was okay although very pricey as was the on site supermarket. Hipodino and the Spar supermarkets in the commercial centre are the best if you can run the gauntlet of 79 steps or take the lift down. Be very careful if you have youngsters who like flicking through the TV channels after 10pm as there is a hard core porn channel on two channels down from SKY News and whilst you are sitting on the balcony enjoying a drink they could be watching things that those even with an open mind might find eye opening!
The PR's in the Commercial centre are a real pain its best just to ignor them then they think you can't speak English or just tell them to "go forth" etc.
We went to one restaurant on the beach one evening and the food was crap, steer well clear I had a T Bone which was rottern. Also wild cats running round your feet all the time you are eating.
Puerto Rico? okay, don't think I would go there again as its the same every night etc. As for the apartments (The Royal one's that is don't know about the other two blocks) I would give them 8/10 for cleanliness 7/10 for location 6/10 for entertainment

The only down side to the holiday was that it was really quiet (about half the apts were vacant) pubs and restaurants were really quiet - no night life at all maybe it is a sign of the economy.
I would highly recommend the apts to all age groups.
