we went to terrazamar suites in peurto rico on 19th july till the 26th july 2011 for our honeymoon. When we first arrived the staff we're lovely & welcoming then when we went o our room,my god ive never seen a room so big in all my life we had a big bedroom, big bathroom, big kitchen, and a big sitting area then the balcony, well what can i say...it was huge!!!! we spent every night on the balcony watching the shooting stars. the pictures on the website is what you get. The hotel is very clean the maids were in every 2nd day cleaning. we asked for a safe and asked about an iron and they have everything you need. we went half board and the breakfast was ok you got a full english and a soft drink, then the meals at dinner were fantastic you get a great choice and they are all made fresh, the staff were brilliant. The hotel is at the top of the hill so you do have alot of stairs to walk down to the supermarket or theres the steep hill you can walk down to the beach.
We are going to go back next year to the same hotel for our 1st anniversary we have reconmended it to all our friends and family. 10/10.

  • Advice: go on the dolphin boat trip- brilliant once in a life time

My partner and i have just got back from puerto rico and we stayed in the SUN SUITES ROYAL and they were amazing. We had a fantastic view of the sea and as previuosly stated the balconies are HUUUUGE....We would recommend a few of the bars on the upper level to the left ...SUN SPOT with the very lovely STACEY a very friendly welcome also their sister bar which is good at night for entertainment with the very friendly manager SIMON and DUCKY behind the bar.look out for a couple of entertainers the very funny QUINNY and the talented irish singer NIALL.The highlander bar for sport and THE PUB bar behind SUN SPOT which has the best karaoke on the island very friendly too.A visit to AMADORES BEACH is a MUST....very beautiful beach white sand (crushed coral) The hotel staff especially reception are very friendly and will help you with all your queries and they speak very good english, hope this helps best holiday for a few years .....tezza and mags (have a great holiday )

  • Advice: The happy hours at the two bars ...pool bar 4-5pm and then to the bar in reception 6-8 pm enjoy.
  • Good For: Beach

We stayed in the sun suites royal and we was not disapointed, when we arrived the reception staff was very helpful, and very polite. When we arrived at our room we was not disapointed, the room was huge and very clean and the balcony was really huge with two sun beds and table and four chairs. It was easy to reach the centre, with only a few steps to walk down.

Sunsuite Royal, Terrazamar Puerto Rico

Just back from 1st visit to Puerto Rico, Appartment very big and clean but Sunsuite Royal which i stayed at are assessed by two lifts and across a road then into another lift depending on what floor you are on. Sound ok, but if you just want a bottle of water or milk in the onsite mini market it can take up to 15 mins depending on time of day and usuage of the lifts. We had been told there was a kids club. But had one very disappointed 5 year old. When inquired at reception told kids club only operates in "summer" by that they mean August. There an English man working on the Reception and he was most helpful and friendly, in comparion to a Spanish Girl on day duty!!! Loads of steps to get back from trip to shopping centre, so if your unfit forget it, get a taxi which are cheap. We ate twice in the Waikki restaurant right on the harbour front, bit more expensive than the shopping centre but worth it for the good food, and service. Visit Mogan its lovely, go by ferry from the harbour especially if you have kids or not. Take a bus to Taurito if you have small children as they have a water park on a smaller scale than the maspalomas one and great value. Go to Amadores Beach, get a taxi its cheaper than the bus. The sunbeds are free after 4pm and the sun doesnt go down till late.

  • Advice: Good, but wont be going back.

We have just returned from the terraza mar and would go back again. The apartments were clean and big but the balcony was the selling point, so big, you didn't need to go to the pool for a sunbed as there were two on the balcony.
We went all inclusive which was great for the drinks but the food was sometimes cold, although there was a microwave for you to warm your food up in.
Bar Staff and waiting staff were fantastic, always laughing and joking with you.
Cat, Ashley and Tim who are the entertainers were fantastic also, they were great with the kids and also put there heart and soul into the shows they put on. They also kept every one amused during the day by the pool with games and quizzes. At the end of the night they spent at least half an hour going round every one getting feedback on their performance.
Will be going back!!!!!

  • Advice: Lot of steps but lifts to every floor

My Partner and I stayed at Terrazamar back in July 2007. We are going back again July 2010. I have stayed in Gran Canaria 5 times and been pretty disappointed with previous accommdation, however, the Terrezamar is the best I have stayed in, and believe me I am fussy.
We were self catering. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the balconies are fantasically huge.
The pool area is great although we ended up going to the beach most days as we could not get a sun lounger, hoping this time we are able to enjoy the pool-side and that we get the chance to bag a sun bed, not holding my breath as we are going in July again.
Overall, the Terrazamar is a great complex, we did have breakfast at the pool bar on a number of occassions and enjoyed it, we also had snacks, yes, maybe a little pricey but that is to be expected on a complex.
I can agree with the writer who mentioned the reception staff, although I did not find them rude they could do with slapping a smile on their faces, I mean, they are front desk and the first to represent the complex so first impressions are really important.
All in all a great holiday. I have kinda worn out Gran Canaria, but my partner wants to go back (his second time), my 5th or 6th.

Myself and my husband have just returned from the terrazamar Royals after a lovely weeks holiday.
the weather was hot,and these apartments are definetly the best we have every stayed in.
they are very spacious&spotlessly clean.
Although we didnt cook in the apartments, there was everything you needed, large fridge/freezer,built in micro,2 ring cooker and all the cooking utentials you would need if you were to cook.
We tried the restaurant 1 night ,which was buffet style, we paid 8 euros each, not recommended!!! it was cold and the choice was not good at all( dont waste your money).
we found the nicest meals were at the Harbour lights, which is opposite the harbour up on the balcony.we never had a bad meal there. The sunday lunches are definetly English!! They are beautiful!!
I wouldnt recommend the chinese buffet in the shopping centre as it was cold and very bland!! (total waste of money)
I would definetly recommend the terrazamar tho!! You wont be disappointed, best thing is I never seen 1 cockroach in the apartment or the surroundings( got to be a bonus,in the canaries!!!)

May 2010, We love holidays!

We have recently returned from a week self catering at the Terrazamar in April 2010. We upgraded to the Sunsuites Royal apartments which are right at the top of the complex. A very quiet, clean hotel, the apartments are great, very clean (cleaned daily even at weekends), with huge balconies with their own sun beds, and lovely views down into the resort and the sea. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the consistently good reviews that this hotel gets are justified. We went as as family with our two teenage children and they really enjoyed it here too. There are three pools to choose from, but we only used the one at the top near our apartment, a nice pool and most days we practically had it to ourselves! As we were self catering we went down into the resort in the evenings to eat. Here was the only downside. A bit over commercialised for our liking, Irish Bars, English bars etc,not Spanish enough, but the biggest problem was when strolling around deciding where we wanted to eat, you were constantly hassled by people trying to get you into their restaurants, a real pain, so just say NO and keep walking.
Some realy nice restaurants worth a visit are San Miguels really nice and friendly, good food and good value, also Mama Pinos, a little more expensive but very nice, and Ciao Ciao in Amadores is really nice, good italian food in a lovely setting right on the beach. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
