We went to the sunsuites in july 2007 and back again in 2008!! We,re a family of four with children 7 an 10, The hotel was spotless and with a very big balcony and i mean massive. Very clean and constant maid service, We loved stayin here, but wished it could of been closer to the beach, there were taxi,s constantly outside the hotel, the fare was 2 euro which was brill, our favourite beach was amordes beach lovely white sand very quiet and relaxing, with a few bars and restaurants, puerto rico beach was lovely too though!!!! Food not much to choose from and was more english than spanish which was good for the kids!! There,s an europa cente close to the hotel which has plenty of nightlife and fun things for the children to do, there,s another towards the top of the mountain which has your crazy golf , trampolines and lots more to do !!!! Food and drink was expensive at this hotel as my husband paid 6 euro for a small magnus, I would prefer this hotel to be all inclusive and found out at meal times there were very little eating there, people ventured out, the activites day and night were fab, everything goin on around the pool which is on the roof, and hot hot hot !!! would definately go back if went to all inclusive!!!!!!! P.S Take lots and lots of money !!!!!

Myself and teenager daughter stayed here for a week over easter 2009. We found no fault with the Terraza Mar - Beautiful spotlessly clean - cleaned every day but thur and Sun. Clean towels every second day. The Apartment was really big but the balcony won our hearts over. It was huge - 2 sun loungers, patio table and chairs - The swimming pool is on the roof and really beautiful. Staff most helpful.
The only down side to the holiday was that it was really quiet (about half the apts were vacant) pubs and restaurants were really quiet - no night life at all maybe it is a sign of the economy.
I would highly recommend the apts to all age groups.

Me and my husband, my mum, 9 year old son & 5 month old baby travelled here for a week in December and we all had a fabulous time. This is our second visit here and I have to say they are the cleanest self catering apartments I have ever stayed in and the balconies are huge, me and my mum were sunbathing on them with the sun loungers provided and there was stil enough room for my husband and son to have a kick around with the ball!! The pool is lovely and inviting with no problems at all getting loungers and the poolside bar serves great food for all. I wouldnt hesitate to reccommend these apartments and would return in a heartbeat!

Went for the terrazamar purely because of the reviews and it is a good hotel and good value for money. we were there over christmas and enjoyed our stay, cleaned to a high standard each day, all the usual amenities and extras for small additional cost etc
Only one small problem with the cistern which was promplty sorted by the 24 hr staff
The resort itself is lovely, surrounded by mountains with hotels built into them all around, 2 beaches one of which is man made but both nice, the island is warm and sunny all year round but summer months I'd assume are beautiful and hot, we had a warm sunny 24 degrees on the beach xmas day ! all rooms have a large terrace and get better the higher the floor as the view gets better, overall? nice well-maintained family hotel with good staff close to all you need for a great holiday! pay no attention to the whinging people who go on about ridiculous things like cockroaches (saw one in a week) cooking rings etc. one thing though.... Puerto rico is very hilly! so not for the unfit!
If you go Enjoy!

not long arrived back from our family holiday in Gran Canaria and the terrazamar sunsuites, well what can i say this hotel is offered to families and that is exactly what we received, the entertainment is great something for every one and the kids were kept entertained whilst the parents could lounge around the pool without being disturbed.
we had read about the hotel previously and that the rep there (rich) was first class. we had the pleasure of meeting him at the airport and the whole 2 weeks after that had many dealings with him, we all feel he is an asset to airtours what a guy.
the resort its self was in need of a little refurb but that didnt stop us from having one of the best holidays. we really cant wait to book again for next year.
thank you thomas cook for a great stay.

Just back from what has been our best holiday ever!First time in Gran Canaria and we loved it. Been in tenerife a few times and have also been in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura but never again will we bypass Gran Canaria. Although I have to say if we had landed at the top of the hill it could have been a completely different story. The Terrazamar Sunsuites are perfectly located at the bottom of the hill, not far from the commercial centre, the harbour and the beach.
The apartments were cleaned 5 out of 7 days with clean towels and linen 3 times a week.As reviews before have said, words cannot describe the size of the balconies. We had room 1602 and this was an even bigger balcony than most others. there were 2 sunloungers and a table and 4 chairs on each and still room to have loads more! People very friendly here.
Mama Pinos restaurant in the commercial centre a must also San Miguel restaurant.Waiters very very nice, cant do enough for you.
Casino Royale is a night not to be missed that can be organised through the reps, excellent cabaret night.
All in all we thouroughly enjoyed our visit here and we will definately be back. We were 2 families with 4 teenagers in the party so finding a place that pleases them proves difficult, but this was definately it!

This is by far the best apartments that we have stay at in Puerto Rico.
Our rooms were very clean and looked fairly new, the balcony's are huge! You get a table and four chairs, two sunloungers and a parasol on the balcony and there is still pleny of space.
The apartments are about a five minute walk from the centre and a fifteen minute walk from the beach. They are not that high up the hill so the walk up the stairs isnt too bad. If you dont like walking, then you can walk through to the Trezzamar and get a lift down to ground level.
There is the water park which is a five minute walk away from the apartments.
I didnt see one cockroach in our apartments or in the complex itself. The pool is very clean and the grounds are well maintained.
The restaurant is really good although when we were there the bar was quite quiet.
Taxi's are very cheap, going to the Europa centre at the top of the hill is about 4euros and not much more for going to Amaddores beach.
All in all i would definately recommend staying at the sun suites and if we go back to Puerto Rico again that is where we will be staying!

Just got back from a week staying at the sunsuite royal apartments with my partner. Apartments are nice and spacious and balcany was huge! Free bottle of wine, water and bowl of fruit on arrival which was a bonus! Good bathroom/kitchen facilities and rooms were cleaned daily. Would recommend paying the 36 euros (60 for 2 weeks) for the air con as it was so hot! Pools well maintained and was easy to get sunbeds etc. Entertainment at night a bit cheesy but fun!
Commercial centre close by and cheaper for those self catering, we shopped at spar and found that was much cheaper than the supermarket at the complex. There are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, we were told the picasso restaurant in the Europa centre was excellant although we didnt get chance to sample it?
Local beach about 10 min walk from the apartments and approx 3 euros in a taxi, Amadores beach bit further out and bigger and approx 3.50 in a taxi. We tried both of the beaches and would recommend either as both pretty similar.
Foto Elite 11 is near the harbour at the local beach and was the cheapest we found for spirits/tabacco.
Palmitos park is good for a day out and costs 16 euros for children and 22 for adults and Sioux city on a friday night was good, 49 euros includes bbq, drinks and shows etc.
As mentioned in other reviews it is best to get in all lifts to avoid stairs and if you have children staying with you take control of the tv remote after 11pm!!
Overall we had a fantastic time and would definately recommend the terrazamar, we will be back next year!!

Went to Gran Canaria for the first time and stayed at the Terrazmar Sun Suite Apartments, the hotel lived up to the reviews. The room was very big and the balcony was massive. We didn't know until we got to our room that even though we had booked a double room you have two single beds, it's like this in all hotels in GC. It was a bit of a shock when they told us but it's not that hard to push the beds together.
The facilities at the hotel were good, bakery and shop very useful and not too expensive, it is a bit cheaper to go to the super market but not by much. Pool was lovely easy to get a sun bed any time during the day, pool bar wasn't bad had breakfast one morning not much variety on the menu but it was ok for a snack.
The shopping centre was only a short walk away and had lots of different restaurants and bars, you did get hassled to eat in every restaurant you walk which did get annoying but it's not too bad. San Maguels, bubbles and Cafe Central were really nice but we didn't have a bad meal there. The best restaurant we went to was by Puerto Rico beach by the shops near the boats to the right, there are restaurants above the shops and Oscars was brilliant, very good food - a bit more expensive but well worth it!!!
Aqualand and Palmitos Park in Maspalomas are really good days out, very cheap to get the bus to from the station about 4euro for two people one way and not too expensive to get in, we did get caught out coming back as we didn't check the timetable so I'd recommend doing that!!
