great site gardens beautiful restaurant limited food was ok nothing special eurocamp staff really good esp andy who has been there 5 years wish all the staff are like him the shop very expensive and the staff seem to not care very much they are just earning money the take away is ok but at 8 euro for a margarita they need to rethink on how they run the site apart from andy doing a quiz the campsite offers nothing the pool was freezing and there is another campsite 45 mins away which out shines this.

Excellent holiday, booked last week...

Excellent holiday, booked last week in August with family which consisted of a 12 and 3 year old. weather was perfect about 25c most days.
Pool was superb, warm and spotless, hired mobile homes direct with the campsite, good spec. clean. Worth visiting the chateau at Chambord very impressive. Hired kayaks and spent a morning on the Loire, bike hire is available with excellent cycle paths between all villages and into the Chateau grounds.
Blois is a nice town / city only 10k away.
The village is small and clean, had local wild boar available at the butchers. We ate at the only restaurant in the village (by the river) which was excellent (10 out of 10!). Worth visiting the local vineyard (200 meters away) where you can sample and purchase the wine.
Altogether and excellent, quiet and relaxing holiday.

Booked the holiday a week before...

Booked the holiday a week before leaving, therefore no time for maps, or welcome packs to be arranged, first down side. Camp it's self was very clean and very pretty, but that is really all I can say. The one resturant on site had a limited menu, chicken, steak, or salmon, and at an average of 15 euros a time for a piece of meat and spoonful of vegetables, was not great value for money. The entertainment was none existent, as most people were in bed by 10, definately a site for young kids not teenagers! The shop sold the very bare essentials, and was also over priced, nearly 3 euros for 1 litre of coke, and the bar wanted 4 euros for a pint of larger and 3 euros for a coke or coffee, at todays exchange rates that not good. As for the reps, I saw one when I arrived and 1 when I left, not really a great "keycamp" experience, good job it wasn't my first.

After a great holiday in a mobile...

After a great holiday in a mobile home at the Le Chateau des Marais campsite, I would like to say how clean and well maintained the site is. Plants are watered to bring the countryside into the campsite. The sites are separted by bushes and the site was very quiet at night. The meal at the restaurant was relaxing and young children can play while you enjoy your meal. The only problem I had was the swimming pools were polar, but the lazy river was warm and the jacuzzi was warm, however neither were warm enough for our 4 month year old.

Excellent. Good sized pitches,...

Excellent. Good sized pitches, excellent play area for the kids, nice quiet bar, which also had a play area. Pools were fantastic. The location was stunning, just round the corner from Chambord Chateau, which was out of this world.
The staff were very helpful, the weather was great. Loads to visit in the area. Chateau lovers!
The only downside was the showers were always cold and this was no good for the kids. Entertainment was provided outdoors on the large play area. Definitely recommend this campsite and would definitely go back.
