Camping Dugny Holiday Park Reviews

7 / 10
May 2007, Mr P Jordan-Turner

Mobile home accommodation was, as is usual with Eurocamp, clean and well-maintained. The couriers were available, without being intrusive. The parc has a wide range of facilities, but these tended to vary in standard. The pools are quite small, so can become crowded. They... more

Don't be fooled its great!
As per the review below we also read the reviews before leaving home and were a tad worried what state we would find the toilet blocks in. We were really pleased when we found that they are clean and tidy with plenty of hot water, if like us your not an early riser you’ll probably have a choice of the showers and loos by 11am. Again as mentioned below, beware of the hot water rush, I got caught 4 times one morning before realising it tied in with the toilets flushing and it is really scalding hot so please beware. We took our own caravan (7.5meters long with full awning) and the pitch (193) was enormous with mains water hook up and drainage and this seemed to be fairly typical of most of the pitches and isn’t mentioned on the Siblu website but was a very welcome surprise. There were no problems with electrics either, we had most things running (Water heater, hair dryer, kettle, Lights,TV) with no problems at all, however the chemical disposal points aren’t the best in the world. They are very clean but they could do with a hose, a decent tap and a tad more privacy! We were lucky enough to have the sun out on our second week and having pitched at the bottom of the slope next to the lake under the taller trees, we realised that the sunnier pitches are nearer the top of the slop nearer the swimming pool. The pirate club was great (according to the kids) we wished it was open 8 hours a day! They played lots of games and even did a ‘talent’ show one evening, if your lucky enough to be staying for two weeks you can see the talent show twice! Its all good fun and the kids loved it. The Bar and restaurant are expensive, a pint of Stella will set you back €4.80 and a Vodka and lemonade €5.20 there is also a handy little snack bar which isn’t too bad on price and food was very good from there. If you plan to go fishing, there’s a good head of small fish with some big carp and sturgeon as well. The biggest I had was a 22lb mirror carp but I did hear of a 25lb mirror coming out just before we left to come home. Overall we really liked the site and the surrounding area and felt that some of the reviews below were a little harsh, we’d certainly recommend going there, and in a nutshell, it’s clean, safe for the kids, has friendly helpful staff and isn’t too far to drive, perfect.
