Serignan Plage Holiday Park

We stayed for 9 nights on this site and overall the site itself is "OK", nothing special but the French staff working there were so rude and ignorant that it just beggered belief. We stayed in a TUI (Thompsons) Al freso holiday home and it was the usual high standard - clean, comfortable, air conditioning - all good. The English TUI reps were really good too. The main swimming pool area is nice and well supervised - good for small children, there is a toddlers/baby indoor play area but it is a bit crappy - everything was broken and not many toys. The on site supermarket is open in the morning and for a couple of hours in the afternoon, which was very inconvenient for everyone - it is very expensive (about 50% more than off site) and they run out of stock constantly. For a site that was promoted for babies and toddlers they did not have any fresh milk for 3 days. There is a restuarant which doesn't open until 19.30 and closed at 21.00 - fairly useless. There is a take away place doing pizzas and fried food rubbish. The crepe place was shut when we were there. The staff working in the bar are possibly the rudest people I have ever met. For example, the rugby world cup was on while we were there and maybe 100 people were in the bar area, having a drink and watching the rugby. As soon as the rugby finished they put on loads of blaring dance music, turned the TV's off and starting stacking the chairs away. We refused to move and they told us that they didn't care how many people came to the bar as they got paid the same anyway. Eventually we had to finish our drinks on a bench outside. Apart from this example, they will just ignore you, turn their back on you when you are at the bar and carry on conversations with their friends while queues of people wait. To be fair to them this did seem to be a common approach by everyone in the french service industry as when we went off site for meals you can expect the same treatment and we are fluent french speakers! Overall, my advice is send these ignorant staff a message - don't go, go to another site or to Spain or Italy - where we have been to 2 sites that were far superior to this.
