I have stayed in several campsites and this place was dreadful. Stay away! We went here on our 10th campsite holiday. It was packed, no room to move and mobile was overlooked from all directions. Very little space around the mobile. Not safe, narrow roads - definitely... more

La Sirene is just brilliant for families with children of all ages. A safe envoironment for kids to meet & play with other kids of all nationalities. As parents of 3 teenage children aged 15 - 20, we can all have our own holiday. They spend all day by the pool, we go off &... more

DO GO TO THIS SITE!! I would first like to start by saying that the site is not worth bad comments because it really is up to standard and there is practically nothing to complain about, except for maby the slight problem of a shady plot, but for some, it's no problem. my... more

We stayed at La Sirene for 12 days this year as we had such a good time when we stayed for 1 week in 2007. We were made to feel very welcome by reception staff and find the facilities very good, clean and comfortable. Good area to stay for exploring the area and lots of... more

Do Not Go to This Site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT VISIT THIS SITE!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! The actual site is reasonable and the area around this part of France is wonderful, the problem with this site is that it is too big and therefore you as a holiday maker are not important. The reception staff are rude, abrupt and bereft of the most basic customer care principles. The main receptionist (a woman of large stature) is one of the most dysfunctional and unskilled people on the planet, she would not function on alone on mars never mind being a "first point" face of a company. She has the overworked camp company reps terrorized and runs the camp akin to Stalag luft 3!! Please visit the area but please if you have any expectations of quality or service do not stay here, I have stayed at other Keycamp venues, such as Des Ormes which is a million miles away from this excuse for a holiday venue. I did make a complaint to the Keycamp rep and to the “large woman” both were ignored!! In this day in age the likes of this poor service is surely doomed, no longer should we suffer ignorant arrogant and unprofessional service from anywhere, the competition is too fierce and the likes of these companies must shape up or die!! Holiday from hell (and yes - including the flames!)
We went to this site with Eurocamp, having had very positive experiences of their sites. This is diffferent. 3500 people crammed into a very small area with very little room to move. Facilities are excellent if you like a bright green neon camp identification sign, wrist tags, fast food, English pub, pizza and chips-type takeaway and cabaret entertainment at night - and to be fair this is many people's cup of tea. What hits you are the constant crowds of people everywhere on site. Pitches are very small - ours was very dusty. Argeles is worse - official stats - pop 9000, summer population 90,000- imagine a sea of bodies everywhere. The local supermarket is like wacky races. Argeles itself isn't as tacky as Blackpool but it's just about as tacky as anwhere I have encountered in France, complete with casino. The area is exceptionally windy (as confirmed by a local resident) and on our last few days we had to sit and eat inside the caravan because the wind was too strong. All the campsites in the area were tinder dry (no rain in 3 months) and on our last day we encountered multiple forest fires in the area of our campsite. Of course the wind fanned the flames. I watched the burning from a distance knowing my husband and daughter were in the middle of it - the police wouldn't let me down the road. The French police were so concerned about the spread of fire that they evecuated all the campsites to the beach (at least 30 large sites), Cars drove out and those without transport waited for buses at the front of the camp -imagine the thousands of people involved - reconnaisance helicopters overhead, helicopters dumping water - the sound of sirens everywhere and the constant smell of acrid smoke and burning. We were returned to our campsite later that evening. I was very relieved to leave. This weather is typical so I assume this situation could happen again at any time. OK now the plus points - the Eurocamp reps were trully marvellous. The site was clean and well maintained. The area is good for recreational activities off site - canyoning, tree climbing, karrting, paintballing but be prepared to put your hand deep into your pocket. The area surrounding Argeles is beautiful especially Elne and Collioure and I would like to return there but definitely not to Argeles and especially any camp site in the area.. La SIrene appeared no worse that the others.
