La Sirene is just brilliant for families with children of all ages. A safe envoironment for kids to meet & play with other kids of all nationalities.
As parents of 3 teenage children aged 15 - 20, we can all have our own holiday. They spend all day by the pool, we go off & explore the Catalan countryside, beaches & restaurants, perfect, everybody has a fantastic time.
One of the best features of this camp is the staff.
Especially Jonathan. I have never met such a helpful, happy positive & obliging young man.
Nothing was a problem for him & he really made our holiday - Thank-you Jonny!
I cannot recommend La Sirene enough, especially for young teenagers.
Don't miss a visit to Collioure, the beautiful old town with it's narrow streets & also Port Vendre which should be famous as it was where Charles Rennie MacIntosh spent his last days & he painted many scenes of the local countryside.

Best holiday i've ever had in my life was 13 years ago in la sirene and i have kept going since then. People saying its bad is wrong theres so much to do like- scuba diving, archery, mountain biking, canoeing, the pool, kids clubs, windsurfing and a way to make amazing friends on our 2nd year here we met another family and we've been close since we go back toghther and visit each other regularly.

we went to la sirene slightly nervous having read some negative reviews of the campsite.we were two families of four adults and five children.our journey was long but straightforward including hiring cars at toulouse for our trip to argeles sur mer.on arrival night staff were very friendly, sorting us with bedclothes and other essentials.this friendliness continued throughout our two week stay!to sum everything up our caravan was in great condition, the pool complexes were fantanstic and enjoyed by the kids and adults alike and our car enabled us to enjoy cannet plage beach {a short distance away}.a very relaxing holiday.kids loved the clubs, the park and the crazy golf...
the only reason i have given nine instead of ten was that the very professional nite entertainment was slightly lost on our children!!
- Advice: loved la sirene!

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage children- the first year we went our youngest was 10 and this year our eldest was 17.
We have now been to la Sirene for 3 years running and the kids are begging to go back next year. Before this we always stayed somewhere new each year and I was a bit disparaging about people who always went to the same holiday destination. La Sirene is just so good we haven't found anywhere to beat it.
We book independently with the site which saves a lot of money. We drive down taking our bikes with us and use them to get around once we are there as it is so easy to cycle to the beach and to town.
La Sirene has a wonderful bracelet scheme which offers (amongst other things) free windsurfing and money off lessons. We have to thoroughly recommend Axel the windsurfing instructor who has been fantastic, remembers us from one year to the next and is very patient!
We book the cottage 3 which is the largest van the campsite offers. They tend to be placed near the back of the park which suits us fine as it means quiet evenings! The air conditioning is in the main part of the van only- not the bedrooms- we tend to leave the bedroom doors open and have small fans near them to make sure the kids stay cool enough. The bedrooms are slightly smaller than I would ideally like. The twin bedded room can only use the wardrobe if the beds are pushed together- my daughters opt for the beds apart and ignore the wardrobe, using the overhead cupboards. The other bedroom has bunks in it. Our bedroom is a bit tight around the sides but the bathroom has loads of storage space in it and the shower water pressure is good. The grounds are beautifully kept and it's a joy to wander round the site. Some of the other operators who use La sirene have put gravel on the pitches which wouldn't suit me- I like grass! All the large La Sirene vans have grass and decking around them. The supermarket is a few minutes drive away and is a big one- although like all french supermarkets in tourist areas gets very, very busy. Choose your time of visit carefully!
Wine is cheap at the local caves, there is the pyrenees close by (go see the forte la grande and Gorges de la fou), scuba diving, snorkelling, mini golf and wonderful evening entertainment. The shows are sung in english but the spoken words are in french so its helpful to know the story line or be prepared to whisper what's going on throughout the Blues Brothers and Chicago as we had to! You will need to arrive early to see a show. People sit at the tables playing cards an hour before the show starts so get there early or book a table at the restaurant if you want a seat.
The pool is lovely and I like the grass around the edge as opposed to concrete and sun-loungers we have found elsewhere. There is always a spot to put your towel even in the height of the season and its a lovely place to cool off in after being in the sun.
We have always found the staff very, very helpful and can't fault them. This year we were there for the feast of the assumption- a holy day and holiday in france and there was a procession through the campsite, treasure hunt for younger kids and other activities put on. We book a departure clean as I find it makes the end of the holiday much more relaxing! I agree with the other review that says alcohol is easy for teenagers to get hold of in the evening. I think if there was one improvement the staff could make it would be being more vigilant about under 18's buying drinks. However to be fair this is france and the regulations are different- you only have to be 16 to buy alcohol so I guess its up to the parents to keep an eye on their kids! Don't get me wrong- we have never had an unpleasant experience with drunken teenagers and we feel our kids are perfectly safe even quite late at night on the campsite.
Great holiday and I think we will definitely return!

La sirene is great for everyone with so much to do, we booked directly with la sirene and had a 3 bed 2 bathroom caravan with air con which in august is important. it also has decking and is very well kept.
the entertainment is really REALLY good with shows like Lion King, Blues Brothers Cats Grease and now Chicago. BINGO with Miss Doubtfire is a highlight and a must go for anyone with a sense of humour.
the beach is a 15 minute walk or there is a free bus service or Argules Sur Mer is a train/bus ride away and is great place to go to.
everyone in the campsite is very friendly with a family bar, over 18's bar and an under 18's nightclub to keep all ages happy.
the pool maybe a little cold for some but i find it refreshing, and scuba lessons and canoe lessons are availabe and are a lot of fun. twined with the campsite across the road which allows you to use those facilities also.
mini golf, tennis, table tennis, football tornaments, vollyball, boules, bike hire, childrens play area, water slides in pool, night life etc all within the camp. there is so much to do.
near the campsite in st cyprian (sorry if spelt wrong) is an aqualand park great for the family. a luna park is 10 minutes away, its a night fair ground with great attractions for teenagers. next to that is go karts (i would recomend your child being at least 12), a climbing adventure park (walking tightropes and sliding down zip wires)
honestly there is so much to do you should really consider this great place perfect for family fun

DO GO TO THIS SITE!!
I would first like to start by saying that the site is not worth bad comments because it really is up to standard and there is practically nothing to complain about, except for maby the slight problem of a shady plot, but for some, it's no problem.
my first stay at La Sirène was in 1994 and i can say that the park has improved since then. Now from a 16 year olds, point of view it is still a great place to do stuff and meet new people.
me and my family are still very excited to be returning to the site, funny enough we're going back in 6 weeks time! and i'm sure it'll be cool as always.
the staff and site members were and are very friendly, especialy towards the english, the arcade is a good place for fun aswell as the bar on-site. it's true the pool can be a bit cold at the begining of a new season but further into the season it does warm-up!
- Advice: great place for relaxing but at the same time easy for finding fun!
- Activities: ALL OF IT, it's languedoc!!

We stayed at La Sirene for 12 days this year as we had such a good time when we stayed for 1 week in 2007. We were made to feel very welcome by reception staff and find the facilities very good, clean and comfortable.
Good area to stay for exploring the area and lots of things to do including beach nearby, short land train ride into lively town centre. Plenty of places to visit including Aqualand and Sigean Safari Park. Shopping good local Carrefour 5 minutes drive away with other large retail outlets.
Coach trips can be booked at campsite to Andorra, Barcelona and other places.
We love it at La Sirene, will be going back in 2009.

Booked privately acommodation excellent with decking and air con which is essential I would say in the high season we also had the use of bikes worth noting that it is really flat so good for cycling.
Camp site was clean, swimming pool was over crowded in August and hard to find anywhere to put a towel down as the grass surrounding the pool was quite soggy and muddy in places Im sure the pool would be great with half the number of people in!
the restaurant food was poor particularly the indian menu.
Good train/bus to beach town and port though not cheap and free bus to local beach though easily walkable.Good beaches especially Le Racou which is quieter and Coulier worth a trip can catch a boat from the port or go on the trip from the camp.
Took two teenagers who had a fantastic time particularly at night with the disco and the pub my only complaint that alcohol is too easily available to the under 18's despite them wearing wrist bands indicating they were under 18.
Lots to do in the area for active children. Our mobile home was fantastic but some looked small with little ouside space.

We booked this independantly and although this felt like a risk the result was a fantastic family holiday were the parents can rest and the children roam.
Loads to do for everyone, local wine at the vineyard for €1.35 per liter of Rose (perfect).
The shows are fantastic entertainment for all the family and I could not recomend it more. I may hold onto the contact details though until I have booked for next year.
I don't want to go into the details as all have said it before and better. Anyone, who said that the site is poor, dirty and the staff rude must have gone to another site, the staff were very helpfull and looked like they coped well for the amount of people onsite (it was full for the two weeks we were there).
Read and believe the good reviews, ignore the bad ones, you cannot fail at La Sirene.

OMG!!!!! This campsite is amazing!!! I've only just come back from there and i'm missing it soooooooooooooooo much. This campsite is ideal for 15-20 yrs and everyone is very friendly and there is a mix of various languages. The nightclub is perfect as under 18s can get in aswell and the pub is the perfect place to go when the nightclub closes, which goes on till 3. The actual campsite itself is well good. It is massive and there is alot of stuff to do, the swimming pool is very beach like and a very relaxing area to sunbathe. You are also very close to various beaches and attractions. The best part of this campsite is definatley the nightlife!!! I would recommend this campsite to anyone with teenagers!!!! xxx

I have stayed in several campsites and this place was dreadful. Stay away! We went here on our 10th campsite holiday. It was packed, no room to move and mobile was overlooked from all directions. Very little space around the mobile. Not safe, narrow roads - definitely not safe for children. Overpriced, a total rip off. So noisy at night-time. Biggest issue was that the staff are rude and aggressive, particularly to children in the shops. My daughter purchased a baguette and picked up a small paper bag... the staff pulled it from her while knocking her purse. The pool was dreadful...no visibility of children in pool since hidden behind concrete jungle walls and freezing in July!! Rough surface surrounding the pool where you were no allowed to wear flip-flops. The website does not show the real site. Everyone we met during our stay had same opinion and would never return. Queues getting into campsite at the weekend. I would struggle to rate this as high as a 2 stars.
