we recently spent 4 nights camping at the site returning after a good experience last year. What a difference a year makes the staff were unhelpful the prices were exaggerated all over the site from the shop to the bar. Service was non existent the toilets were now dated although clean, the only good thing is pitch size but that comes at an overate price. We would never return when there are so many sites in the area giving better service and value.

Very busy area in July, was a traffic jam every day to the Isle D'Oleron, hence the reason we only went there twice. Site entrance badly planned, was very narrow, with a series of barriers which caused traffic to back up, and delayed you geting of the site each day. Good facilities, but usual problem off a very busy swimming pool, with insufficient sun loungers. We booked privately with our touring caravan, and requested a comfort pitch which included electricity and drainage. We paid extra for this and expected a good position on the campsite, however, although it was a wide pitch, it was some way from the toilet block, and was in a field with no shade or hedges.
I have to agree with another customer, that the showers were rubbish. They either ran freezing cold, or so hot that you couldn't stand under them. I heard several mums having difficulty whilst showering young children.
Site was full of Dutch, and we experienced quite a bit of noise, late at night, from rowdy, Dutch teenagers returning from the bar. Weather was disappointing, and not what we expected for that area, at that time of year. If you can reach the Isle D'Oleron I would highly recommend that you travel around the circumference, rather than along the main road through the centre, as this gets very busy, and can just become one long traffic jam from start to finish. There are some beautiful villages, and quiet beaches to be found on the coastline, aswell as interesting markets and shops. The nearby beaches are fantastic and great for surfing.
Campsite shop was reasonably priced, and well stocked. Site was well maintained, and clean. Friendly, English speaking staff. Plenty for the kids to do.
Found the plight of several pet rabbits kept on a cage on the site a bit distressing. Limited shade, no vegetation in their run, dirty water in a dish, and there never appeared to be much food in evidence, other than rotting carrots covered in flies, and a bit of rabbit food mix. In fact whilst we were there, I saw 1 dwarf rabbit suffering in temperatures in the 90's, trying to keep cool with it's head burrowed under the hutch and body exposed, panting furiously. The following day it had been removed from the run, and I never saw it for the rest of my holiday??
Don't think we would return, mainly because of the weather, but also because we did not find the area that interesting.

This site is beautiful, really well kept and green and has lovely waterfall/flowers castle etc and the caravans are well spaced out. The on site shop has lots to offer but is very pricey, which i think is just to be expected. All the reps are just lovely, very pleasant and hard working, they do everything, clean/kids club and deal with you booking in and out etc. The pool was far far too busy, we never ever got a sun lounger (and my sons shoes were stolen)and this was really disapointing after travelling 2 days to get there, we had to lie on the concrete, just like many others. The caravan we had was ok, needed a bit of upgrading but we got put in one of the few older ones. We tended to not use the site too much and went on different trips outwith and in the car as the site was just far too busy for me, although very beautiful. If you get nice weather you will enjoy this holiday!!!!!!!!

The park is well set out, very clean and tidy. There were large toilet blocks with washing up areas and clothes washing areas under cover. There were a lot of Dutch people at this site and they were very pleasant. The pool area was fantastic, the children spent 7 days out of 11 there. It was suitable for all ages and not over crowded. There are plenty of sun loungers and grass areas to take your own rugs or deckchairs. There is a good supermarket which didn't charge over the odds for most things and was on a par with other supermarkets, there is a Le Clerc about ten minutes drive away. We didn't bother with the entertainment, prefering to stay with our friends for a quiet drink, but it seemed busy each night with music and a disco sometimes. It was always quiet after 11.30pm/midnight. The only downside was that the showers didn't run very warm and sometimes went cold mid shower. However, our friends shower block seemed fine. It didn't matter too much as it was hot when we were there but some younger children obviously didn't enjoy their showers very much!. I would recommend this site as we had a lovely time there. There is a nice beach on Ile D'Oberon and we visited Cognac, Royan and La Rochelle.

French Freedom were a fantastic company to travel with and certainly one we would use again. The quality of their static homes alongside their value for money was really very good and highly recommended.
Sequoia Parc was a beautiful, spacious campsite with a wonderful (huge) pool complex. The only drawback was that they insisted on men wearing swimming trunks which left my husband not overly impressed. There were several play areas for little ones which were safe, clean and well used.
The entertainments provided seemed varied and thorough although generally (with a baby in tow) we didn’t really get to see too much.
The restaurant onsite was lovely and we ate there a couple of times. We also sampled the takeaway but unfortunately my husband got food poisoning although from speaking to the staff at the campsite they said they had never heard of this before.
The reception buildings are all stunning and the facilities are superb. I was not a great lover of the area finding it fairly bleak and grey (unusual for a coastal town). Ile D'Oleron was a disappointment and whilst I would go back to Sequoia Parc as it was a lovely Park, I would prefer it if they could pick it up and move it somewhere altogether prettier.
A must do whilst there is a distillery tour around one of the Cognac plants in Cognac - we did the Hennessey tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent site for young and old children alike with the super pool complex. The site puts on a full entertainment programme in high season which is gathers everyone around the central courtyard where there are tables and a stage.
There is also a bar which can be an escape from the hot sun for a cool drink on a hot day. Our only problem was my husband and I could not get the kids to explore the surrounding area as they did not want to leave the site. The pitches that were on offer were large but had little or no shade.
We had an excellent holiday and will find it hard to get another to reach the high standard of this site.

We had a wonderful time at Sequoia Parc last year, the site is beautifully landscaped with good amenities. We went in mid season and had no trouble with traffic but I believe the local area is busy in August because it is a favourite with the French, particularly the Isle d'Oleron which is not far away. But anywhere in France that is not busy in early August has something wrong with it!
The site is lovely, the pools are terrific and the local area has great beaches, market towns and places to visit.
