This Camping site is good for 12 year old people. It is run by children for children. If you are a parent over 25 don't think of going here. No service, unfriendly people and very poor expensive shopping.

Do not visit this site if you do not speak fluent french.
We booked to go to this site early in the year. We chose the site as it looked fabulous for the children. How wrong could be we. The site refused to speak English or Dutch even though there were lots of families of this origin. The entertainment was minimal, very little entertainment for adults or evening entertainment although the brochure implied that there were events constantly taking place in the circus tent. There was one free show that we could have attended.
The staff were rude when we complained about the language barrier.
There were limited places for the english and the dutch children in the kids club, I am presuming this was down to only one of the kids club team spoke english and dutch therefore it was a ratio scenario. There were 10 allocated spaces for the english and the dutch, the rest was for the french children.
The unlimited ice creams and drinks were not unlimited, we were told by one member of staff that our children could only have 1 ice and 1 drink per day. Although other staff members were fine.
I would never go to this site again, the holiday was absolutely disastrous and to add insult to injury the site denied any of my complaints and my tour operator to date has not accepted liability.
So disapointed as we relish our annual holiday with our children and it was the worst holiday we have ever experienced in our lives. We have visited countries all over western and eastern europe with our children and never experienced such hostility.

We have just returned from this holiday and although the area is lovely, the majority of the people on the site were French, a few Dutch and a sprinkling of Brits. If you are unable to speak French or do not want to make the effort this is not the place for you.
The information talk was conducted in French and Dutch as we were the only British family attending they refused to do one in English. Luckily I have enough knowledge of french to get by. The childrens club was also not really for the British, our son was the only one who turned up and consequently did not want to stay. Saying that the staff were very friendly and there are a number who do speak English, especially at Information.
The accommodation (we stayed in a cabin and were not camping/carvanning) is very clean and if you are cooking at home hope for good weather as the cooker (half the size of a microwave) is a little small. Good weather meant we could use the BBQ provided most days. The camping and carvanning people looked like they were having a good time and seemed to get together a lot more separately from the camp. Most evenings we found we were the only English in the bar where the entertainment was. There are no TVs in the cabins.
There is enough there to keep young children entertained (swimming/ping pong/mini golf/tennis/bouncy castles) but not really for teenagers.
Eating out is good, Quincys in Lesconil is very good. Although wherever we went we found the childrens menus a bit limited.
Driving was very easy with other drivers being very courteous - just make sure you have all your necessary hi vis jackets and warning triangle in your car together with your driving documents/licences just in case you get pulled over by the Police.
The surrounding area is very beautiful and excellent for cycling and exploring. Supermarkets are excellent (SuperU in Lesconil has lots to offer as well as the smaller shops).
We will definitely go to France again and to Brittany but most definitely not to this Yelloh Village as there just wasn't enough going on for the kids. Talking to other people staying there this isn't the best Yelloh Village to stay in (there are about 37 in all) and I think next year we may try elsewhere.

Delightful setting in spacious grounds of the Manor, right on the edge of a peaceful estuary. Safe beaches about 2 miles away; supermarket 1 mile.
We chose this site because of all the 4 star facilities listed in the brochure; however, the site was virtually deserted the whole time we were there (1st week of June) - so all the attractions were not in operation at all (no events, no shop, no bar, no food etc.). As a consequence, the place was literally dead quiet. If it wasn't for the new indoor pool, there wouldn't have been anything for us to do! So don't go at this time if you have kids that want entertaining, or you want a night-life!
On the plus side though: wonderful indoor & outdoor pools, clean modern wash block, well-maintained grounds,

My family have just spent a week at this site and we will be going back next year - the kids loved it - the pools, activities, the free ice creams, free go-carts and all the friends they made. It was a lively and lovely site in a beautiful area of France that we would like to explore more. The weather was good while we were there. Only criticism - we would have liked a slightly larger pitch as we have a large tent. Yelloh know how to make holidays.

We have stayed at this site many times in beautiful accommodation, though on this occasion it was disgusting.
We opted for staying in a mobile for our short break to keep the costs low - it was the wrong decision, we should have camped! The mobile we were placed in was very old, worn and badly equipped. In our opinion it should not have been in use as it was dangerous. The pitch was weedy and very poorly maintained. Noise from the pool pump room was loud and constant through the night.
I spoke with site staff and sent an email to Yelloh during our holiday - though we had a automated email response, we are still waiting for a reply!!
A real shame as this site, under previous management, was a friendly, beautiful place to spend family holidays.
I think it fair to add that the shower and toilet facilities have been refurbished to an extremely high standard (the best I've ever seen on a camp site) - so would highly recommend for campers....

We are currently staying at Camping L’Ocean Breton. It is our second night of a short 5 night stay. As we have stayed at this site approximately 20 times over the past 19 years (several of these with Yelloh), recomending it to many family members and friends who have also stayed, but we wanted to express our dissapointment on this visit.
Admittedly we are staying in a mobile, when usually we stay in more expensive accomodation, but I expected the overall condition of the accomodation to be much better than it actually is - it is certainly not up to standards that we have experienced before at this site.
The general condition of the mobile is poor and damaged. Particular issues are a very wobbly toilet and very dangerously wobbly dining table (tied together underneath with string!). It is virtually impossible to eat a meal at the table without it tipping and spilling drinks etc. This is obviously very dangerous with hot food and drinks.
Also we had lots of missing equipment:
The inventry of equipment in accomodation
Large knife
Chopping board
Large pan
Ladle
Draining board
Glass shelf in fridge missing
Freezer section door missing
Curtains on door missing
4th garden chair missing (we presume there should be 4)
And other broken/damaged items:
Both external door catches are broken and doors blow dangerously when windy.
External wooden plinth (at the base of the mobile) has fallen off and is lying on the floor - with rusty nails sticking out.
External area very weedy with some scattered rubbish.
Wall cupboard in sitting area has loose base so unable to use.
Blind on shower room window broken (missing the pull cord) - so unable to open.
The plastic coating on the metal bedframe in the 2nd bedroom is in an absolutely disgusting condition, being in a totally unsuitable state to be used as a childrens room. Luckily we have my mother with us as our guest, so this is not an essential issue for us - just very embarrassing.
We asked about missing items at reception yesterday and were given an equipment list for our accomodation to check. We did this immediately and informed the staff of what was missing. We also reported the dangerous table and toilet. We were told that a maintainance person would be sent to look. He did not appear.
Today, 24hrs later, we have been to reception again to ask about these issues. It appeared that nothing had been done at all, though a staff member did go immediately to collect some of the missing items for us. We are still waiting for someone to be concerned enough to look at the table and toilet.
Another major problem that we have is that there is a constant high-pitched buzzing noise eminating from the pool filter/pump room. This is not a problem during the day as there are other general pool activity noises, but during late evening and especially during the night, it is much more pronounced and having accomodation nearby means that the loud buzzing noise is always there and certainly does not contribute to us having a ‘relaxing‘ holiday as advertised on your website. It does, in fact, prevent us from sleeping. It can even be heard through ear-plugs (I know because I have tried in desperation!).
When I asked about this in reception today, I was just told that it was the pool equipment making the noise and that it runs 24hrs a day. With a shrug, the receptionist told me there was nothing that could be done and that no-one else had complained. I cannot believe this is the case as it is terrible for those staying nearby. If I had known about this in advance, I would have requested accomodation further away so that we would be able to sleep.
We have always had a fantastic time at this site, with many happy memories and have never had cause to complain about anything. On previous visits we felt our custom had been valued and we were valued guests. Sadly we do not feel this way on this occaission.
We have found most of the staff that we have spoken to be very polite, and I really do not like to complain, but feel that the standards have dramatically fallen and sadly am not looking forward to the remainder of my stay here as I usually would (especially as I will be very tired by then!)
With kind regards,
Mr & Mrs XXXXXXXXXXXX
PS. I have taken photos of some broken items should you want them forwarded to you.
