Las Olas Aparthotel

the accomadation itself was very good,reception was very helpful,waiting on staff not very friendly,the island itself nothing at all to do ,ie no decent shopping, no decent bars,not many people speak english, so will not be returning to this very very very boring island

Firstly,why change £ to euros when you can get euros out of cash machine at a much better rate just down the road.The first week we were there we had a party of canarian school kids.They were rowdy to say the least made even worse by the airport being shut for 3 days due to high winds and having to put up with them for longer.The breakfast was fine[rashers with gnashers included].Not much choice of meat in the evening unless you like rabbit,shark,calamari,etc.Puddings were good though and all the staff were freindly though some receptionists were a bit dim.A few English,afew Germans,A couple of French and Dutch but mainly Canarians taking their holidays there.Entertainment poor for us British as all in Spanish.Dont expect to do anything from 1.30 to 4.30 as most have a siesta-resting from doing what I dont know!

Having read a couple of poor reviews after booking, we were prepared for the worst but were pleasantly surprised. Attractive complex with spacious rooms. (Take a travel kettle) Very good choice at breakfast with delicious fresh bread (only lacked British cereals). Choice and quality of hot meal at dinner was poor but salad and dessert choice OK. A microwave was provided to re-heat food that had cooled off.
If you are prepared to eat out in the evening there are some excellent restaurants nearby (especially the 'Sadi'). Plenty of hot water, helpful staff. Island is beautiful and peaceful with some great walks

OMFG, dont bother, my main moan is with thomson and there lies, but las olas has some responsibility, you cannot change money at this hotel??? nice sat tv in ur room...all in german not 1 uk channel..food is at best cr#p, im not a moaner as ul see for yourself if you go.... nothing AT ALL to do at night. some nice staff at the hotel but also some not so nice..i like a walk etc but after i was forced to walk miles to change some money was the last time la olas or la palma will be seeing me...

Los Cancajos is a small resort, and feels a little neglected, due the unlet units.
If you want an unspoilt peaceful tranquil and pretty location near the sea with uncrowded beaches and plenty of walks (take suitable footwear) but very little evening entertainment, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a little more going this may not be the place for you.
There is very little English spoken, but you can get by. Direct flights from the UK are new to this location.
Las Olas is a 3 star hotel, the evening entertainment is sporadic. The hotel is clean, but the cleaners are not always as good as they could be.
The food is buffet style, but can get a little dried up. The menu is different it includes Egg Soup?
