Not what we expected!

When we saw the park on the keycamp website we thought it looked really good, it is described as lively and has 4 stars. It said it had a swimming pool with three water slides and that there was lots to do outside the camp.
However the reality was nothing alike!
Although it apparantly has "three" water slides we discovered that there was one water slide with two lanes and a little baby slide!
However the problems were a lot worse than that... The camp is described on the Keycamp website as "lively" however I think we all felt that a funeral would be more lively!
Everything closes very early and after about 10:00pm the place is completely dead! We also felt that the park was extremely under staffed, there were people who did five different jobs and some of them looked quite over worked. This resulted in a poorer quality park because things were scarcely open! The pool bar which apparantly serves drinks and snacks all day, was open once in the entire 10 days we were there and even then it sold a few rubbish water toys, some tiny packets of sweets and a few ice lollies!
The Chateau Bar however took the biscuit! It was completely dead, there was no music played and people talked in hushed tones to the point where we felt we had to whisper to avoid feeling impolite! My mum actually said that it felt like walking into someones front room and asking for a drink, we all felt awkward as if we shouldnt be in there when in reality we had payed for the privelage!
We went in peak season and we had all expected a lot more than what was on offer, me and my siblings all felt bored because all we could do is go in an overcrowded pool really!
We had previoulsy been to another park with keycamp and it was a million times better!
However I will say that the staff were all lovely and polite and would be happy to help.
Our Keycamp mobile home was in extremely good condition and contrary to other comments I felt that the keycamp courriers and the eurocamp courriers were always lovely and were happy to help in any way they can.
While I would reccomend Keycamp to others I would not recommend this park I feel it does not live up to what it is protrayed to be like in any way.

We Went with KEYCAMP - NEVER AGAIN!...

We Went with KEYCAMP - NEVER AGAIN!
Our family (2 adults 3 children (8,3 and 1) arrived for a 6 night stay - we managed two nights and went home! The mobile home was vile - it stank of mould - there was mildew all over the walls, curtains and much to my disgust, pillows! Floors were dirty - the place was awful. I HAD TO CLEAN THE PLACE BEFORE I WOULD LET MY CHILDREN LOOSE! I asked to be moved, they advised there was nothing they could do as no other mobile homes were available. They advised that 2 weeks before we arrived (AND i QUOTE) "MOST OF THE MOULD WAS SCRUBBED OUT" I told them that I would be leaving and they did nothing more than shrug there shoulders! To be honest the 'couriers' (reps) are little more than grubby teenagers on a summer holiday! I will never, ever do it again. It cost us just over £500 for 6 nights, which is not a lot of money but the least you expect is it to be clean! I am currently trying to get a refund!
I must just say though the site is nice (not much to do off site though) Go with Eurocamp - their mobile homes were far nicer!

We went here for my husbands 40th birthday in May this year, we only had 3 nights but had a lovely time, we were very central for driving to other towns & less than 1 hour from calais, we are now looking to book for my 40th in May next year! it is so easy to get to & a lovely setting i would recommend visiting here & exploring the nearby towns & enjoying the fantastic seafood restaurants!

The Site Was Really Good. I have 2 children Charlie(3) and Lilly(5) they both loved going to disneyland. The swimming pools were often crowded but everything else was perfect. The Restaurant on the site was also really nice and the food was sensational. Lilly also joined a group for the children while i looked after Charlie. Charlie loved riding on the ponies and my husband would spend all day playing golf. Swimming Pool 2 has some waterslides which the children spent all day on. I am going again in 2008 and probably the year after it. Its certanly a holiday to remember!!!

This was our second time staying at this campsite and again we had a super holiday!
As the weather was so bad in England we decided to book a second holiday at the last minute and happily the weather improved in France.
We crossed over by euro tunnel with no problems and after stopping at city europe arrived at the site approx 2pm. The caravan was clean but I would not pre book the welcome pack keycamp offer again as it is a waste of money.
The site is great for children-excellent childrens club, nice swimming pools although on hot days it does get crowded.
There is plenty of space around the caravans for children to play safely and the play area is nice too.
The shop on site is well stocked normally but at the end of august it was running things down. The supermarket at the end of the road is good but quiet expensive.
All the couriers were polite and helpfull and were very knowledgable about the surronding area-we did travel up to some of the first world war battle sites and it took approx. one hour.

The park was superb, we loved the settings and the pools where at times busy, but very clean.
The staff where very friendly and spoke very good English, especially compared to my french, which ran too Parle Voux Englias, and luckily they said "We"
Plus they called up a local garage for me when I had car trouble and sorted every thing out for me, Very impressed.
Definately book again direct as we saved our selves £250 and it was not trouble speaking to them.
The children loved the Rosalies, although we didnt use the restaurant, but we did shop at the local supermarket, INTE mARCHE.
We also drove into Paris on the sunday, which was remarkably easy, if only Our motorways where that easy to use.

We holidayed for 1 week in July 2006 and wished we could have stayed longer.
The location was a bit out of the way, so a car is alwayed needed. We found a lovely beach in Cay-sur-mer, which never seemed to get busy, but the tide comes in quick around lunchtime.
The site is great for families, but the pool was always busy and for the size of the site, the pool and space for sunloungers could have done with been twice as big.
There is a lovely restuarant and take away on site.
The keycamp staff were always friendly and made you welcome from the start.
Keycamp are well reccommended for holidaying with.

We are a family of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It was our first time in France and to Eurocamp and we were very impressed.
We have fallen in love with France. We stayed here for a week then travelled down to Disney for 3 nights.
The campsite was very nice but the swimming pool very cold and the campsite bit isolated, however with our 4 days after being lively at Disney we didn't mind at all.
The children enjoyed their time in the club and we enjoyed the wine!

Chateaux Drancourt, St Valery booked through Eurocamp is a great destination for kids on the site. It has three pools that both my kids (3 and 2) enjoyed, especially the slides. They also enjoyed the pedal cars and horse riding. The horses are very placid.
The on-site shop was well stocked with the basic items and beer and wine (although steer clear of the wine).
The supermarket up the road is good, and it does not impact of the local market town's trading.
The staff of Eurocamp were very helpful and the caravan was clean and the pitches were a good distance apart. We will visit again soon.

What a great holiday. Would definitely go with Eurocamp again. All transfers went smoothly even though our channel crossing was through the night we had no problems.
Picardy small quiet but enjoyed our whole time there. No doubt we will be stopping at the Chateau de Drancourt next year.
