Highy recommended

The best thing about this hotel is the location - especially if it is your first time to Paris. The Louvre is a walk away as are many other attractions. It is great for nighlife too - we went to dinner in the Marais and then to a nightclub in the place du Palais Royale - and walked to and from both. It is also only a few minutes walk from the Louvre-Palais Royale metro station. Ask for a quiet room. We did and had a room at the back of the hotel - not facing Rue St Honore. It was very quiet, although the lift is a bit noisy. We were on the 7th floor and there are only 3 rooms on that floor. the room was a good size with comfy bed, desk, TV and chair. The bathroom was medium size with bath. It was all clean but it is rather old and a bit tatty eg. marks on the walls, cracks in the bathroom tiles etc - but these are minor things and if you are not planning to spend your whole time in the room then you won't mind this given the excellent location. The reception staff were always friendly and spoke good English. This is also reasonably priced relative to other hotels in the area and is actually a good standard. I would really recommend it for un-fussy first timers to Paris for the reasons above.
Location couldn't be better, and it was a very comfortable stay
from HarpyMan
Just had 4 nights here. It was very good, and met all expectations. Location superb. Beds comfortable (and I'm fussy!). Breakfast was good enough. Our twin room 601 was quite spacious - certainly enough. Avoid the rather poor pizza restaruant next door (we went there having seen it recommended in an e-review, but it was below average). However, Le Dauphin at 167 R. St Honore was excellent (twice - both lunch and dinner, and every course was a treat).
Exceeded our expectations - highly reccommended

Spent 4 nights at the Louvre St Honore , having known Paris well , we can reccommend the hotel very highly , Tke location is superb being just two minutes walk from the Louvre , and the line 1 metro station which will take you all along the right bank of the Seine from the Champs Elysee to the Bastlle and the Marais. Room very warm in Winter months and a good size (room 710) well furnished, Staff really efficient and friendly good English spoken . Pleasant and quiet street with good restaurants and patisseries. Will be booking this again for our next trip.
Weekend Stay in Paris
from A TripAdvisor Member
I have just come back from a weekend break to Paris staying at the Hotel Louvre Saint Honore. The Hotel is in a good area with easy walking distance to the most of the top tourist attractions. The front desk staff were helpful and pleasant to talk to. The room was clean and had all the things expected of a 3 star hotel. This hotel lies close to the metro so transport is not really a problem.
Again, a great deal in Paris

I stayed at this hotel again for seven nights last week. The first time I stayed there was several years ago, and I was just as satisfied this time. It's not flashy like another Paris hotel I stayed at over New Years for $$$, but for the price it's adequate and the location can't be beat. Single rooms are small and elevator is tiny. Decor is not the most modern, but the room was kept clean and it was quiet and comfortable. All members of the staff I've met have been friendly and gone out of the way to recommend restaurants and given me tips about phone cards, etc. The best part is that you're about a 5 minute walk from the Louvre and within easy walking distance of shopping in Les Halles and Notre dame. Louvre Rivoli metro station is right around the corner and from there you can get anywhere in the city easily. I will definitely book again there in the future.
Strange design
from Tomochan
I picked this as a part of a package to Paris. Hotel Louvre was too expensive and this fit the bill. The room we stayed at was posted at 170 Euro a night (room 301) It's right on St. Honore and Rue du Louvre. It was strange because it was the weirdest design I've ever seen. The elevator was for 4 people, it was about 1x2. One person and two pieces of small luggage will fit. The 3rd floor only had 2 rooms. The "hallway" was about 3x8. Soon as you open the door, you go up about 5 steps, and there's your room. Some pluses are: 1. convenient location! It's close to the louvre, three metro stations, close to shopping on Rivoli. It was a 10 minute walk to Notre-Dame. Very close to the Pompidou center and Les Halles. Around this area, not much is open that late. 2. The ceiling was pretty high, which made the small room seem airier. The windows were nice as well. Minuses: 1. It was passably clean but don't expect spic-and-span. Just because it's a low class hotel, things should still be clean! 2. Paris in January is pretty chilly. The heater needed a bit of work. They put a small counter space above the sink, well it was impossible to bend over, wash my face w/o spraying water everywhere if you didn't want to bump your head on the counter. The tub is nice and deep so it's a definite plus, but it's a sit-down shower, which takes some maneuvering. Again, impossible to shower w/o spraying water. points of interest: shuttle to airport cost us 17 euro each. cab ride would have cost about 45. We arrived on Eurostar, the cab ride from Gare du Nord cost 6.50 + 1 euro each for bags. (not sure if that was a rip-off since this is a first trip to Paris)
Great Experience
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Louvre St. Honore for 4 nights and had a very good experience. The hotel is small, but we found the accomodations to be very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the hotel was good--comparable to what you would find at a Marriott Courtyard in the States. The location is terrific--with easy access to the Museums and the Metro. We would stay there again on our next visit.
Time of our Life

Visited hotel mid-october, 2004 Having read Trip Advisor before we left, my expectations were set properly. The location is awesome: 3 minute walk to the Metro, 4 minutes to the Louvre, and about 15 minutes to Notre Dame. The breakfasts were filling for the whole day, except the scrambled eggs were runny each day. It was nice talking with other travelers during breakfast. The front-desk staff was very helpful. They upgraded our room, they recommended an awesome nearby restaurant, and arranged transportation back to CDG airport. The restaurant staff was nice too, although one lady would cause quite a racket with the dishes! They would greet us each morning wil a full pot of hot coffee. They charged us for a few items in the honor bar, although we did not use anything in there (of course). Perhaps they thought I did since I did move things around in there to refrigerate my own stuff. The hotel was "Americanized" nicely. The shower in room 01 was not easy getting used to since there was no tub wall or shower wall to catch the water! Thanks to trip advisor for all the help in preparing us for our vacation extrordinaire! Merci!
Indifferent and cold check-in staff(Eurostar hols messed up our reservations)
from Mangales
Having booked and paid for a holiday with Eurostar holidays who issued us vouchers for our train journey and hotel stay, we arrived at the Hotel Louvre St Honore on the evening of 27 Sept 2004, only to be told bluntly that our reservations had been cancelled. We were most upset because even though we showed the vouchers from Eurostar holidays, the staff was not bothered to make any inquiries and just said "we are fully booked anyway!". We put a call to the Eurostar agent in London ourself who checked and said the booking had been cancelled due to their mix-up!. Subsequently he made reservations for us at the Hotel Corona Opera and we went and checked in there. So, while the Hotel St Louvre may be more central, for those who prefer to have "civilised and cultured staff", I say the Hotel Corona Opera is your better choice. We had a pleasant stay at the Hotel Corona Opera and the staff were all warm and friendly. And, to date, Eurostar holidays has yet to even apologize for their mix-up!
Bad experience

Well well well...This is the worst 3 stars hotel I ever known thus far. I don't know how they rate their hotel. It is equivalent to USA low cost highway super 8 motel except they have better bathroom and utilities in the room. The hotel has one counter reception, one receptionist, one very tiny elevator that can fit only 2 persons with 2 luggage. I am not sure about the other rooms; my room has a smelly mattress and blanket. When I asked them to replace/clean, instead they spray the perfume on them and hope to cover the stink...and guess what...it doesn't work but too bad, that's the best they can do for you. The heater also did not work in my room. Promised to fix that never come. Luckily, it is not that cold without heater. I have been reading reviews after reviews for many hotels within this price range and I thought I choose a not so bad one. The results!!! Well, you decide yourself. The problem is it is hard to find a decent hotel with this budget in Paris. So good luck if you go for this hotel…

It was lovely the room had yellow walls with 2 single beds with beautiful red covers and the carpet was so soft you could sleep on it as for the food that was just the best food I have ever tasted and I wouldn’t let my children waste the food. Well I’m going to keep... more
