Grammatikakis Beach Hotel

Me and a friend booked the Malia resort/Grammatakakis hotel in July 2009 for 11 dayswith FIRST CHOICE...wouldn’t stay there again!
We read the reviews prior to us booking the holiday and were pretty much satisfied with the reviews! Although it was a 2wentys holiday we didn’t expect anything like a 5* hotel...On our arrival we were disappointed to find that we didn’t have any aircon although it stated aircon on the actual website (www.maliaresort.gr) we complained at the reception the following day and they weren't very helpful me and my friend had to go halves for a fan which was useless, it didn’t make any difference.
P.S the pictures on the maliaresort website are misleading they are nothing compared to what we seen, there are 3 blocks to this hotel, one block is newly refurbished, and you will see this on their website, the other blocks are very OLD.
The beds were ridiculously uncomfortable, the balcony was absolutely TINY! and filthy...we very rarely got clean towels or bedding, we had to ask every other day for clean towels even though the maid came in our room everyday to clean the floor...as for bed and breakfast, it was a waste of time, they served breakfast from 9-11am and it was toast and a hot drink (tea or coffee) not even a glass of water or orange juice...now who drinks tea/coffee in that weather? wasn’t worth waking up for to be honest!...the hotel is a brilliant location as it is smack bang on the beach, the food at the hotel is quite nice, bit pricey though...I wouldn’t stay there again as we paid a lot of money for this holiday and we didn’t get aircon or cooking facilities e.g. toaster or a kettle and we didn’t get a fridge either, so we couldn’t buy and store cold drinks. Staff were polite, but the hotel put a downer on our holiday because we were boiling at night and found it very difficult to get to sleep, the hotel is at the bottom end of the strip, which isn’t too bad, as you come out of the hotel there are a few bars, but you have to walk a further 5 minutes to the night clubs, just don’t walk back to the hotel alone, especially if you’re a girl....MALIA nightlife is amazing though!

i have just come back from this hotel with 4 girls..!! and it was amazing..the staff are amazing, the food is amazing the whole complex is really good. Apps and Gio made us very welcome they were great with there customers..!! the hotel is right at the bottom of the strip which is annoying when walking upto the strip but good because at least you can get a decent few hours sleep!! hotel is literally on the bikini beach..if you go on the beach you have waitress service so you dont have to disturb your sunbathing time even do the same when around the pool!! the rooms are decent..can get a bit too warm in the room..but we were on the 2nd floor so we jus left our patio doors open everynight..!! there are loads of places to eat if you dont want to eat in the hotel!! clubs are really good i loved club malibu..!! when i was reading all the reviews before i went i was abit omg its going to be horrible but they have dont it all up now and was the best hotel anyonce could stay in in malia!! definatly 10/10...

I dont think I would go back to "the gram" if I was paid. The security guard has a Taser gun, no im not joking, and he will use it if your noisy after 12...the air conditioning is a fan if your lucky enough to get one...the "balcony" is big enough for 2 people to stand on and no more...the pool is tiny... the reception didnt speak any english and if you lose your room key your charged 50 euros!! we were told we would have a kitchenette but i dont think here was kitchens in any of the rooms. the sheets were changed once and we were givin clean towels once.. the only good bit was the 24 hour bar and the fact that there was 6 of us to keep each other sane! dont even bother trying to play in the pool, we had our ball confiscated 3 times by the manager.
Malias amazing though, if you find a good hotel then u'll be laughing.
Ooh Aah MALIA!! You what you what?!!

I went to the Gramatikakis with 5 other girls for a week in early June this year and I was really hesitant because it was our first ever girly holiday, dance music 24/7 really isn’t my scene (I’m a total Indie Cindy) and I was fully prepared to hate it… but I loved it.
The Gramatikakis is basic, so if you're expecting the Ritz don't bother.
The towels don’t get changed very often and some of the bathrooms don’t have shower curtains or some have wonky shower rails but all in all the rooms are fine, small but fine. The pool and bar area are clean as well, can’t complain about them.
It is literally ON the beach, you step out you door turn right and you’re on the beach turn left and you’re at Electra bar at the bottom of the strip. The pool is really small so don’t bother with that, just do like we did and go on the beach everyday.
Don’t bother with the free breakfast either because you are NEVER up in time to get it.
It’s very close to all the bars and the clubs on the main strip but I didn’t find it particularly noisy and I’m a really light sleeper, plus the first night we were there I had a really bad cold so I decided not to go out and I slept like a baby. Security isn’t bad, but definitely be wary, and I can’t recommend paying for a safety deposit box enough.
It may have just been the time of year because we went fairly early on in the season when there are less people but it was by no means empty. We met loads of lovely people and our rep was brilliant.

Arrived early morning and the security guard was a bit scary but i suppose that's what he should be, although did have a laugh with him during our stay.
Rooms are not up to much and bathrooms are pretty urgh but the hotel on a whole is fab, the grounds and bar/beach areas are kept spotlessly clean and you have excellent staff working on the beach and in the bar area.
Pool isn't upto much but as you have the beach on your doorstep it really doesn't matter.
Food was lovely 2, from burgers to greek cuisine and reasonably priced.
The whole hotel is due for a re-fit this summer i would definatly reccomend this for young people on girls/lads hols it has all you need and a space to rest your head in the early hours before getting up to stumble to the beach.

Absolutely brillliant ... The hotel is situated right at the bottom of the strip and is practically on Bikini Beach, this is where most people go during the day and where music gets played loud to keep the party atmosphere going 24/7!!! But dont expect much from the hotel, the rooms are very basic but you hardly spend any time in them anyway because you will be out partying until about 6 - 7 oclock in the morning (literally). One thing i would definatley recomend is to hire a fan for your room because they do get really hot. This is definately not a hotel or resort for families, but definately for young groups of lads and lasses who just want to get away get drunk and have a absolute blast !!!!!

what a holiday had the best time ever!! dont expect much from the hotel rooms as they are very basic,but the hotel staff are awesome really are there to make sure you have a good time.this hotel is not for families or for boring people..great location right at the start of the strip,start drinking at the hotel bar then make your way down to the strip.dont get any bikes or quads out as you will get charged alot or find yourself in a it of trouble if u have a accident so best stay away.all in all great holiday defo stay the same place again.this holiday is for young people so enjoy!

WHAT A JOKE!!!!! this hotel is SCUM!!!!! They didn't tell us it was an 18-30's hotel!!!! When i first arrived we thought it was amusing that they didn't have aircon but then we got to our room! I felt like i had just been throw in prison what a dive, people had scratched 'DAVE WOZ ERE' into the head board, "BRAP BRAP" must be word of the week coz it was everywhere! my nan could have pushed the door open which was facing the main road BLATANTLY asking to get robbed! the room smelt like an old dish cloth! oh and to top it off we went to find the rep to ask to be moved but instead the SLEEZE OF MALIA come up to us started rubbing our arms n didn't take his eyes off our boobs for a second he instantly knew we was gonna complain about our room so must be the norm! I think we was there for about half an hour before we found another hotel to stay in, which we paid extra for! we couldn't be bothered to get moved it'd prob just be another dive! To be honest unless ur a 17yr old boy throwing up on urself ur not gonna like this hotel AT ALL!

This hotel is absolutly distgusting. When i first arrived they put me in a room which i couldnt lock my door. The so called balcony was only big enough to stand on. I complained to the manager and got moved. This room was no better than the last. Me and my had to shower in our flip-flops because the shower was so distgusting. It had no shower curtain round it which flooded the bathroom everytime we showered. The room looked just like a prison cell basic and filthy. Thomsons made me pay an extra £50 per person for a balcony which i didnt recieve a 2nd time. I continued to complain to the rep and the hotel manager and got moved once again for a 3rd time. I had to continue to complain about my room to get moved and this went on for nearly a week. This room was cleaner but still wasnt worth the £900 we paid for our holiday. The cleaners didnt come everyday and we didnt get clean towels everyday either and when they did come they wernt cleaning the rooms properly. I was sold a holiday which included a full english breakfast everyday, when we went for it we were told we had continental breakfast which included 2 pieces of toast, a piece of cake and a coffee. In the brochure it clearly states that there is slides to the pool, there isnt! The pool is like i childs pool when its an 18-30's hotel. Overall i WOULD NOT recomend this hotel to anyone its distgusting and just becasue it is a ''freestyle'' thomsons think we dont care what we stay in. I do and i shall be taking this matter further. I have full photographic evidence of all the matters above and have already written a letter of complaint to head office. I demand compensation for my holiday and a full written explaination from tompsons explaining why a large company like themselves are willing to put there name to a distgusting place like this. If i do not recieve and feedback from this i am taking this matter to a solicitor for further legal advice.

the hotel is horrible. the room service is not good. they dont give u clean towels evryday and they only clean your room about 2 - 3 times a week. the food is ok but not the best. the balconys are really small. the room is really basic. no fridge. so in the morning when you are de-hydrated you need to go to the bar to buy a bottle of water or walk to the shop. also when you are tryin to sleep, there is lots of people on the bikes and cars outside the hotel making loads of noise. i would'nt reccomend this hotel. also the pool is about as big as a bath tub.
