Jul 2011, extremely dissapointed

We arrived at 7.30 in the morning. There was no receptionist waiting for me - he was asleep, we had to wake him up. The first thing he tried to do was sell up air conditioning and a safety deposit box. We said we would think of it later and that we needed to have a sleep... more

Upon reading the reviews after booking our holiday away we was worried, but once arrived we was greated by the manager @4:30am whom sleeps on the sofa waiting for the new arrivals as the bar is the reception, we stayed in room 411, (attic room) we was pleasantly surprised... more

Diabolical and that is putting it mildly. If these apartments were in the UK they would have been shut down. Death trap, dirty, unprofessional staff - never, never, never will I stay there again. (YUK)

On arriving at Adler at around 3am, we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor. We walked in, looked (and smelled) around and couldn't believe we had booked ourselves something so bad! It smelt very damp and the furniture was ancient, smelly dark wood, the sofa... more

Had this been our first visit to Turkey, rather than our eleventh, we would certainly never have returned. The Adler Apartments are in desperate need of a complete refurbishment; currently they are poorly equipped and the beds are extremely uncomfortable. The staff are... more

maybe not
my husband and i stayed for our two weeks holidays. when we arrived at 5.30am we were told it was £21ppw for the air con and £14ppw for the safe deposit key, we only took the key as paying out £70.00 before being given our room key was not something we had anticipated. we were firstly put in room 411 which was fine until you tried to sit on the balcony. the balcony overlooked the tiles for the roof for the room below and it had two air con units ,one would have been for us had we paid but the other was for the rooms above us which housed the young lads who worked at the apartments, (although we never heard them) and a table and enough room for one chair only, the heat from the air con unit and the noise made it impossible to sit out. i went and spoke to the manager who was very helpful although could not help us at that specific time explained that he could do something on the thursday, true to his word he moved us to 211. this room had two balcony although the bed and living area were slightly smaller the balcony was the main thing we wanted. this was my first visit to Turkey and although i would not say i did not enjoy the holiday it is not somewhere i would rush back to. you could not walk past a restaurant without them trying to get you to check out their menu even when you told them that you had just eaten..we tended to stick to the ones where no one bothered you and allowed you to enter if you wanted to. lots of places to eat and the walk along the beach front in the evening very pleasant. we did not go to the beach although looked very clean the sand looked very gritty. plenty of little markets to buy the tat you usually get from holiday places. although we went on the orgainsed trip and enjoyed the turkish bath in Marmaris we found another one which was much better value for money and we would say much better all together round the corner from the two sisters restaurant in icmeler. prices i would not say are cheap as people make you believe. there was a big problem with sunbeds at the apartments as there were more people than sunbeds. my husband would go down at 7.30am to grab a couple of beds for us and read a book in the peace of the poolside to find that most of the beds had already covered in towels (we still would like to know when they were put out) and a lot of them were not lain on until late in the morning if at all. there was a local bakers in the old village of icmeler which was a couple of minutes walk from the apartments. the supermarket on the site like most overcharged but a few minutes walk up the road saved a few coppers and the supermarket in the main part of icmeler was cheaper again. once again although a pleasant holiday not in a hurry to go back.
No, no, no
We arrived after a two hour bus journey to be allocated an apartment which was dark, dingy and below ground level. The shower was thick with mould, the toilet seat was sitting on the floor and the celing was falling down. We asked to be moved and were allocated another (better) room two days later. The staff were very pleasant and the pool was clean. The apartments are about 15 minutes walk from the centre but the dolmus run every 15 - 20 minutes. These apartments need a complete overhaul before they could be acceptable for next season.
Fantastic holiday, Merseyside
Despite the previous feedback we had a fantastic holiday. The apartment was spotless, the food was excellent and the staff bent over backwards to ensure that our holiday was enjoyable. Overall the hospitality was second to none. We'll definitely be going back next year. Its a 15 minute walk from the centre/beach but the bus service is every 5 minutes and only costs 1 lira.
This hotel is the PITS!!!
Hotel looked OK from the front but the rooms were dirty, dark and the roof rooms were not fit for occupation. We left the bags at the hotel and found other accomodation in Icmeler town near to the beach. On returning to collect our bags several people stoped to advise that they too were having problems at the hotel, the rooms poor, the food uneatable. My advice is do not go to this hotel.
Briliant helpful considerate staff.
The holiday rep moved my family to this hotel after staying just 4 days at the Hotel Club Petunya some 100 meters up the road in the old village of Icmeler ,Turkey. The staff were all aware that we had just been robbed along with 2 elderly ladies in the room above ours at the Petunya....My wife and daughter were extremelly nervous and on edge and only wanted to get back home following our misfortune. The Staff at the Adler did all but walk on water to try and comfort and reassure us for the remaining 10 days stay.. Spider , Ebbo were the most prominent but i would take nothing away from the many other extremelly helpful staff including the odd job man and the advertising agent who frequently spent time at the Adler... I would be happy to consider staying at the Adler again ...NO PROBLEM....... I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT READERS READ MY REVIEW ON THE CLUB PETUNYA AND SUGGEST YOU AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS
What a hole
We went here as a last minute holiday and paid very little for it. However others paid full wack so I write this review for them. The location on the outskirts is actually quiet and nice, and first impressions are ok. However once inside its over. we had a room in the attic, and I banged my head over and over as unless you are virtically challenged its impossible. Demanded a room change and a day later got one. These apartments are really basic, one step up from a tent! Sadly the customers are the worst of my fellow countrymen. I had to spend a week watching a two single mums literally throwing thier two 14 year old daughters at the blokes who worked there. I am not kidding it was awful. They took pride in allowing thier kids to be sexualised and filled them with fags and booze. The staff are extemely preditary on female guests and not at all focused on customer service. The pool is awful, the rooms drab and the staff a joke. This is the worst placed I have ever been too.
awful place
when we arrived there was only one apartment not the two we had paid for. after waiting all day we did get a second one. the apartments were clean but shabby. there was no hot water at all and ofeten no water !!, pool area had little shade and the bar played loud music all the time.the staff were often rude and unhelpful.needless to say i spent minimal amount of time there.
Adored the Adler
We stayed at The Adler Apartments in Icmeler , Turkey from the 1st of July until the 15th of July, and thoroughly enjoyed it.We traveled as a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teenagers and one 11 year old) FLIGHT WITH FREEBIRD AIRLINE (SCOTTRAVEL) The flight over was good with adequate legroom, and NO DELAYS (YIPEE!!) The food was nice and the flight crew who are Turkish, were very helpful. Seats were comfortable. You will the get on a air-conditioned coach from Dalaman to Adler apts which takes approx. 2 hrs. WELCOME / STAFF Upon arrival at the apartments, a member of staff will show to your room. The staff couldn't be more helpful, constantly doing their best to help. As soon as we walked in we noticed a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Special thanks to Spyder, Ibo and Ali. ROOMS The rooms are very clean, basic but adequate. Their is a Kitchenette with a kettle, glasses, a sandwich toaster and 2 ring hot plates. The room looked like it had been freshly painted white. Airconditioning & Safety deposit box - optional but essential extras. There is a spacious wardrobe with coathangers - the room also has 2 single beds. In the bedroom there is 2 single beds and a dressing table and stool. ONLY DOWNSIDE IS NO DRAWERS BATHROOM The bathroom is very clean with a clean toilet and a washbasin and towels. The shower is rubbish and leaks all over the floor but everything else was so good that we didn't care. EXTRA INFO TAXIS ARE VERY CHEAP BUT REMEMBER TO AGREE A PRICE BEFORE GETTING IN. DOLMUS (BUS) ARE VERY CHEAP TO , ONLY 1 LIRA EACH WAY PER PERSON. THE APARTMENTS ALSO HAVE A BALCONY WITH A TABLE AND CHAIRS. POOL AND POOL BAR The staff behind the bar are really friendly and are always quick to serve you with fairly priced food and drink. The bar and reception is combined. We had a few meals there and they were delicious and well cooked. The pool is reasonably sized and has a childrens pool too. There are lots of sunbeds that are normally available throughout the day. EATING OUT Always go self catering because if you go all inc. you will miss out on all the fabulous restaurants and bars that are reasonably priced!! Here are some of the bars/restaurants that you should try! - Ozzy's - Harmony Bar - The Love Boat - Titanic - Amalia Pub - Lighthouse - Marios Italian restaurant - Friends - Deniz Kapisi - Heaven Bar - The three bells - WonderBoys - Wayside ***WARNING*** ON ARRIVAL AT DALAMAN AIRPORT YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR £10 PER BRITISH PERSON IN ENGLISH BANK NOTES!!! - THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT SCOTTISH , ONLY ENGLISH
Amazing Adler
This was my third time to turkey but my first in icmeler, the previous times i'd stayed in marmaris, so icmeler was a lot quieter, which was nice, but the adler was superb, as with most of the reviews on here you will see that the main subject topic is the staff, thats because they really do make your holiday, they are the nicest people you could meet, always happy and would do anything for you, the rooms are cleaned daily same as the pool area. they have a great variety of snacks and meals and make it very appealing by offering a free breakfast voucher with every evening meal so you even get to save money, the local beer efes is on sale behind the bar and is cheaper than any where else it works out at about a pound a bottle - fantastic. Would recommend this hotel to anyone its fab.
The staff at the Adler Apartments are great!!!
I stayed at the Adler Apartments with my partner and my father, whilst the apartments are a bit out the way it's only a 10 minute walk into the centre or the domni bus passes by constantly. I have stayed in turkey before at slightly nicer apartments but I would definately stay at the Adler again as the staff were very welcoming, great entertainers and great genuine people. If you are reading this guys hi to Eric, Billy, spider and Ali and all the rest!!! The apartments are as I said in a quite location which means you can chill out by the pool. They are very clean and there is one pool which is cleaned morning and night. The main attraction again has to be the staff they are fantastic. Oh and don't miss the staff show it is so funny. Melanie, David and Johnny
