Libertel Auteuil Hotel

Having spend 5 nights in this hotel back in March 2007, I have to agree to most of the reviewers that this is a good place to stay. Just about 10 minutes (walking distance) from metro station "Mirabeau", 2 mins from hotel to the closest supermarket, 3 mins to reach Ave. de Versailles - where you'll find numerous bistros, bakeries and shops; 30 mins (if you prefer not to take the metro) to reach Tour Eiffel. Planning an anniversary weekend in Paris with my wife, I took the plunge and put myself in the hands of TripAdvisor. We were travelling with Eurostar and this was one of the few hotels in Paris offered by Eurostar in our price bracket that was highly rated on TripAdvisor. The hotel room was very comfortable and in reasonably good condition and the staff were polite and helpful. We have just returned from a 3 day stay at this hotel. Although it is a little further than 'a few steps' away from the Eiffel Tower (it's a 15 minute pleasant stroll along the Seine) it was a lovely hotel in a lovely location. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. As we had an early start on our last day, we ordered coffee and were not even charged for it. I would definitely go again and would recommend it to others.

Sadly we only had two nights in Paris as a quick side trip from our visit to London but we booked this hotel with our Eurostar tickets, based on reviews here and the price. Our first time in Paris we were not sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We loved the location. Coming out of the RER station across from the Radio Tower building and turning around and seeing the Eiffel tower at night was breathtaking. We booked this hotel for a two night stay for ourselves and our two daughters (13 & 9) the reception staff were friendly & helpful and were easily able to arrange rooms next to each other for us. I had read previous reviews that had described the staff as being somewhat surly but that was not our experience at all, we were greeted in a most friendly manner each time we entered and left the hotel. Before I start I would like to address a few points from previous posts as I don't think they are still accurate (From my recent experience) LOCATION - The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and the walk is a pleasant one along the bank of the Seine. it is not 40 minute as some of the above posts have stated. THE METRO - The nearest metro is about a 7 or 8 minute walk from the hotel. Stayed for 3 nights - paid an extra £60.00 for a superior room which was shabby, wallpaper peeling off, one pillow each, very lumpy old bed, looked straight out onto a concrete wall, easy chairs were stained and ripped, provided a kettle but no complimentary beverages, room was not serviced properly, - something missing or not done each day. Although I would say don't pay the extra, if this was a superior room I dread to think what a standard is like. While checking for a hotel for some friends of friends, I came upon this hotel. It looks nice from outside. While I haven't stayed here, I do live around the corner, & would like to comment on some other reviews regarding transport & location. The Eiffel tower is under 1/2 hour pleasant walk.There is a small island in the Seine that runs from Pont de Grenelle (where the Statue of Liberty is) to Pont de Bir Hakeim (seen in many movies). This review is a little late but this hotel and staff were excellent... Front desk was always helpful and great buffet breakfast included in the room price... Hotel was very close to 2 metro stops and the Siene river was only a couple of blocks away.... The Eiffel Tower was a 15 minute lazy walk along the Seine away we went there every night... Grocery store almost out the front door of the hotel and many restaraunts nearby... Rooms we big and newer always clean and a free safe in the room....I would recommend this... more

We were there from the 12th to 15th of Dec 06. Arrived to two friendly staff members. Went up to our room, to find that a double room was a twin. Phoned down and they changed our rooms immediately, saying sorry. My husband purchased a watch from the display cabinet. We then went out for a few hours sight seeing. While we were walking around we found out that the watch didn't worked. When we got back to the hotel the staff had changed and my husband explained to one of the new staff members that the watch didn't work and asked for... more
