Got back from Barbados in March this year and am already planning when I can go back!
Great Island with some of the nicest people you could meet.
Check out Mulin's Beach, would advise you to bring your own beer and eat from the lady frying fish down the road - without a doubt the food is nicer and less than half the price than the bar on the beach. Fantastic beach with some great people doing the water sports.
The submarine is well worth a look and is a good day out.
Sunset Crest is a lovely resort with a decent sized pool and is very family friendly.
Check out First Street in Hole Town on a Sunday night for street Karaoke - great fun!

The best holiday ever.
Having been to Cuba last year, we didn't think anything could top that but Barbados did. The people are so helpful and nice, beaches gorgeous, the whole island is amazing.
We hired a car and drove around the coast stopping little shacks for lunch en-route, the best and cheapest way to eat as restaurants are geared up or the tourist. Rice, chicken, salad and a banks beer £3 each.
Suga Suga beach is one of the best in the world. Look out for Frosty (he went to England once in May and wore a coat, hat and scarf for the 2 weeks) the sportsman... he runs the banana boat etc, lovely chap.
Mews Restaurant on 2nd street in Holetown is a lovely meal as is The Fishermans in Speightstown.
The villas were basic, but had all we needed and are cleaned daily. Ours didn't have a pool but at Europa there is a communal pool, bar and a snack bar which serves sandwiches, chicken in a basket etc.
We had a BBQ and used that most nights, food at the supermarket is cheap and there is a large one 5 mins walk from Sunset Crest.
If you're going self catering take your own lunch to the beach or pool as it can be pricey to eat at the restaurants by them or walk 5 mins on the road to a shack and they will do snacks to take away for 1/4 of the price.
If you take your banks beer bottles back to the supermarket you get 20% of the cost back as well!
Book any trips independently far cheaper than using the reception at Europa.
Saving up to go again next year! 10/10.

This accommodation is exceptional if you have a young family and need the peace and quiet. The pools are well maintained, and the staff are exceptional.
Value for money great, catering great, overall very helpful and courteous. I definitely will be using again.
The apartments are located in a picturesque area with lots of greenery and well light at night. Overall security is marvellous, and a security safe are provided in most apartments. The complex is located near shops and restaurants, and a couple hundred yards from the beach.

You can't beat this place for a cheap bargain break in Barbados (if you can have a bargain break to the Caribbean). The accommodation albeit basic is everything you would need.
The bar by the pool is sufficient and has a daily happy hour.
The location is fantastic - not by the sea but within easy walking distance to a number of great beaches. There's a supermarket 5 mins away and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
The only downside is the holiday by Airtours used XL flights a no frills airline - still you get what you pay for!
