Le Royal Montparnasse Hotel

Le Royal is a very clean hotel with a great location. The standard room is small but comfortable, we can't complain since we only slept in the room. We had a nice Contintental breakfast each morning. The Metro is only steps from the entrance of the hotel and you can travel all through Paris. Although this wasn't our first trip to the city, we did alot of the tourist attractions. We stayed 4 nights at LeRoyal, november 2007. Cresta Holidays offered it , using Eurostar to get to Paris. It was a good start that the hotel was on the direct metro line from Gare du Nord. Our room was quite large and faced the Boulevard Raspail, and we were impressed by the quality of the carpets, curtains and furniture. I took my mum to Paris for her 60th birthday and decided upon Le Royal for 3 nights over a weekend. I was not disappointed. The decor of the hotel was modern and contemporary. It was exceptionally clean. We had a twin room looking out over the street with a separate bathroom and toilet. Plenty of storage space for two women's stuff! The big plus point was the sound proofing of the rooms. My wife and I had a lovely stay at this brilliantly located hotel. Right in the heart of Montparnasse and a stone's throw from the metro it was a great base for discovering Paris. Hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful (mostly speaking English). Breakfast was cereals, bread, toast, eggs etc. simple but nice. The room we stayed in was a bit small and dark but that didn't bother us at all, it was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

I treated my husband to a trip to Paris for a special birthday. We stayed at the Le Royal. The room was very nicely decorated, but quite small. The shower screen door would not stay on the bath, consequently you had to hold the door away from your body all the time whilst showering. Just returned from a wonderful six night stay. Our flight landed early (5:30am) and we took the RER directly to the Port Royal station. This stop is only a short (10 min.) walk to the hotel. We arrived at Le Royal before 7:30am and expected to just drop our bags and head out but were surprised when we were given the key to our room at that early hour by the friendly and helpful clerk. Stayed for one night during short stay in Paris. Very attractive hotel, friendly staff, very nice breakfast. Hotel is between two Metro stations so easy to get around. Would recommend.

Hotel Royal Montparnasse Luxembourg had a special promotion in August, so I decided to book, even if the 14th arrondissement is not my favourite at all. The young lady at the reception was friendly and efficient enough. The first thing I noticed, though, was a very strong unpleasant smell in the public areas, a mix of cigarettes and chemical air-freshener. Just back from Paris. Spent Saturday and Sunday night in this charming hotel. We last stayed here in August 2004 and both stays have been enjoyable. Each time we have stayed in rm. 48 (4th floor facing the inner courtyard). The courtyard overlooks the playground of the college/high school next door. During term (weekdays only) bells ring on the hour (starting at 8am) this should not be a problem as in Paris you are mostly out and about but it is necessary to know.The courtyard is open and the back of the hotel is painted a goldish... more

We honeymooned here for 12 days in July and we could not have been more pleased. The hotel was clean with nice decor and the staff helpful. Our room was big enough, clean, and the housekeeping was extremely efficient. We booked through SellOffVacations.com which included breakfast.
