Le Grand Hotel Paris

Everything was perfect during our 10 day stay at this hotel. We found it through Priceline and got a great deal! The room was plush and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, new, and in marble. The lobby is huge and gorgeous and the staff was very friendly. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. It's probably my best experience at a Parisian hotel, and believe me, I've been there many times.

Stayed at the Hotel Intercontinental LeGrande on business for a conference for a few days at the end of June 2005. The good things: people were very friendly and its a convenient (but not the most interesting) location of Paris. What I didn't like about the hotel: While the room was non-smoking, every other area in the hotel had a distinct smell of tobacco. I stayed at The Grand Hotel for five nights recently for an event that my employer sponsored. The event staff was wonderful and accomodating. The rooms were lovely and the maid service was great. The fitness center is a bit small, but it's adequate for a good cardio workout. This is a very expensive hotel, but it's worth the money, in my opinion. The hotel is also centrally located near the Place de l'Opera.

Just came back from Le Grand and we had a great time. It was our first trip to Paris. When we told them at check in it was our anniversary they upgraded us to a Junior Suite. Everybody was very nice and helpful. They had no problem speaking english. The hotel was close to everything. The suite was large and just perfect for a get a way. A very clean upscale hotel. We only have good things to say about this hotel and cannot wait to stay with them again.

We spent 4 nights in 2 deluxe rooms. The entrance and the lobby and all public areas are really impressive. The smell of the flowers was arriving up to the entrance of the hotel. The &lt;&lt; Verriere &gt;&gt; the cafe - restaurant at the atrium was really impressive with so much sun in it. ( Maybe we were lucky with the weather ). Grand restoration, poor service & staff attitude needs refurbishment We, core patron of Intercontinental hotel, stayed 3 nites early April 2005. The poor staff attitude is not compatible with the tastefully restored grand hotel. The concierge desk was unfriendly and not helpful at all, lack of tourist materials, we certainly can take a taxi, but we do hope to tour on the big bus or try different mode of transport. yet the concierge only suggested Taxi! I am very surprised to read the other reviews. I found the hotel staff very unfriendly and at all times poker faced ie miserable looking. Dont even bother asking for directions, they will tell you to take a taxi or roll their eyes. And I stayed there for 4 nights in a junior suite. Maybe they are underpaid. Even though I am an ambassader member I didnt feel I got any "special" treatment ie not even a smile!! oh actually the only person I found warm was the cleaning lady the did up my room! Great location opposite the Opéra Garnier and close to shopping and sights. Not far (by taxi or bus) from the Gare du Nord (Thalys, Eurostar). Impressive "grand hotel" entrance leading to beautiful public areas. The recent redecoration is well done and in keeping with the spirit and architecture of the hotel. Large room (deluxe with Opera view) with high ceilings and fantastic view from the bedroom and bathroom. Well equipped bathroom with Molton Brown toiletries and separate shower stall. Pros: Location and public areas It is right next to the Opera Garnier and only a few minutes from a wide variety of stores (Printemps, Galéries Lafayette as well as all the chic stores near the Place de la Madeleine). Beautiful furniture, flowers everywhere in HUGE quantities (this is where the room price comes from in my opinion!), lit candles on every table, big bowls of apples at the reception desk. I booked this hotel for valentines day for 5 nights.It is definately a five star hotel with all the trimmings my only disappointment was the view was awful looking over other building tops instead of the opera side,i was informed later i should have complained and they would have moved me.Also a bond of 1500 euro was placed on my visa card the whole time i was there and wasn't cleared till 4 days after i checked out.Lucky my visa allowed it ,unlucky if you only had a smaller limit on your credit card.
