La Demeure Hotel

It was OK. Doesn't set the world on fire though. Like a Ford with a recent facelift.

I can't remember how I found this hotel, but am glad I decided to go with it after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend in late September, and really enjoyed our stay here. We booked via the hotel website and paid around €120 per night. We thought this hotel was certainly the best of the 3 star hotels we have tried in Paris in the past. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights over a 6 night trip to paris. One word...AVERAGE! The rooms were very plainly decorated and functional. Front desk staff were reasonably polite, but nothing special. The hotel will charge you for absolutely every little detail. We returned one evening and had 2 coffees - upon checkout we were billed 8 euros for these. Just got back from a week trip in France, where I spent 3 days in Paris staying at La Demeure in the Latin Quarter. The location is very good if you like to explore a less-touristy neighbourhood, but is still within walking (although a good walk) to surrounding sights. I searched through tripadvisor for days deciding on a hotel to stay at in Paris. This hotel was everything most people said it was. The location is great, the staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, they bent over backwards for you. The rooms were a good size for European hotel rooms and very clean. I would definately stay here again. The best rates i found were on their website...there are web specials and if you book just 48 hrs before hand its cheap too! We were very pleased that we decided to stay at Hotel La Demeure. The management of this hotel was extremely professional, helpful and courteous. This hotel is well run and in a very good location, just five minutes from Gobelins Metro station. Our room was on the top floor with a view overlooking Paris rooftops including the Eiffel Tower and the Pantheon. Just what we had asked for. We would certainly stay here again.

I initially found the Hotel La Demeure in Time Out and chose it based on price, location, air conditioning and the wonderful reviews here on Tripadvisor. On two separate occaisons my wfe and I have stayed at La Demeure, described by the owners as 'Hotel de caractere' and rightly so, This was our second visit to the charming hotel ideally located at 51 boulevarde Saint - Marcel, close to several Metro stations and Gare Austerlitz, a prominant Paris train station. As soon as you enter, an effective, accomodating, good dispositioned team eager to help and please is there right on target. Inmaculate premises and helpful staff makes your Paris stay a wonderfully reliable one. Breakfast is well taken care of and bedroom is always done whenever you return. Wireless email for free if you bring along your laptop and above all ...such a pleasent atmosphere. The answer "no" is not an option here, they will get our of their way to help you. We have stayed near the tourists and the Champs Elysees on previous visits to Paris, but this time decided the left bank area was for us. Our Travel Agent recommended the La Demeure - knowing that we like small rather than great big (unfriendly) Hotels. It was an excellent recommendation. Room 39 on 4th Floor was just perfect, a bit tight but that goes with the territory! A romantic lift to take us to the 4th floor was good fun. Staff here were excellent and very helpful.
