Skanes El Hana Hotel

To call the Skanes el Hana a 4 star hotel must be someone’s idea of a joke...the room was not very clean, the bedlinen and towels were a dirty grey and stained...the basin and toilet were cracked, and we complained about water coming up the bidet 4 times before it was looked at, but not sorted.
The meals were very repetitive and very bland. The dining room was so full of tables and chairs it was very difficult to get to your table...and this was not even busy.
The hotel has 2 lifts, one never worked and the one in use broke down for 4 days and as I have walking problems we had to use the dirty baggage lift.
You would not expect to hire a fridge in a 4 star hotel but you did here. A bottle of water in the hotel was 2.500 td but you could get 6 bottles in the towns for 1.600td. You had to pay for a sunbed , even at the poolside; the beach has great white sand but it was never cleaned, the entertainment was very poor, the 2 boys doing the games had almost no equipment and seemed afraid to ask for some. The first week they were playing darts with only 2 darts which had half their flights missing.
On one day they drained the pools so they could fix the lights in one and clean the other which according to one of the cleaners "had not been done for 20 years". His words not mine.
Tunisia is a very nice place so if you find a decent hotel the go and see it but trust me, avoid the Skanes el Hana. The 14 days we were there I know of 3 parties that were moved to another hotel and others changed rooms, others likes us will never go back to this hotel.
I hope you have a nice time where ever you are going, we might just have been unlucky???.
