Just returned from a lovely week at the Annmaria.
Our ages ranged from 8yrs old to 73yrs old, 5 of going to Cyprus for a wedding.
The rooms and hotel was spotlessly clean, food was very nice with a good choice.
Staff helpful, cheerful & polite. ( we visited another hotel for the wedding where the staff were miserable & quite ignorant) Which made us really appreciate the staff at the Annmaria.
Up early one morning saw ladies washing all the deck chairs down & the pool being cleaned.
It is situated close to the beach? not sand though, but great for rock pooling which we did few times.
Lovely coast path running to ayia napa harbour & to Nissi Beach(sandy)
Will definately return as all enjoyed an excellent holiday.

Great pool shame about the bar staff

Anmaria is one of a chain of tsokkos hotels, built in a good location just on the fringe of the centre of Ayia napa with views of the sea which is a 5 minute walk away to a rocky shore line. Nissi beach is a 35 minute walk along a lovely coastal route, or 1 euro on the bus. walking the oppersite way one can walk to the harbour and large sandy beach (go to the centre of the beach to avoid the rocks) this walk will take 20 minutes.
The pool area is outstanding, surrounded with palm trees, plenty of sun beds with views of the sea and is kept spotless, the only complaint is the bar staff, Dimitris and Anna which are the most sour faced pair you could meet and not a please or thank you from them for the whole fortnight, (no wonder the tips jar was always empty).
The rooms are a bit on the small size with a tiny fridge and most of them (that we saw) could do with redecorating, the maids were in each day to make the beds and change the towels etc., and we always got a smile and hello from them (they should be put behind the bar).
Not going to say to much about the food as personal taste can vary hugely only to say the choice of food could be better, the local wine is good and the lamb is very good.
The entertainment was good up to a point , theres 3 girls that really do a great job ( 2 Emmas and Steph ) really good singers but a bit of veriation would have been good.
My general view is that the reception and pool are 4 star but the rest is struggling and the sound proofing is terrible between rooms, but on the whole a lovely hotel to spend a week or two, would l go there again ?........probably not.

I have just returned from my holiday to Cyprus, I have visited Ayia Napa on several occasions. This was my first time staying at the Anmaria. The rooms were big and really clean. The air con in the room played up now and again, there was nothing separating the balcony’s so no privacy between rooms. The food in the restaurant wasn't brilliant it got quite repetitive also felt like the staff watched you when you were choosing your food. We went half board and the drinks were dead pricey, there was a happy hour from 8-10pm and beers, long drinks & cocktails were all 2euros. Don’t have a coke it costs more then the alcohol. Instead of taking money they charge all drinks & food to your room and you can pay the bill at reception when you choose as long as its paid the day before you leave. Staff were really friendly but spoke very little English. Pool area was fab lots of sunbeds and plenty of room to sunbathe, pool was nice and big also. Entertainment wasn't brilliant, the reps were really nice but the night time entertainment was a bit rubbish. People only seemed to stay for happy hour then headed out. In the day nobody seemed interested in joining in the games. I found the reps would pester people to join in. The hotel itself was nice enough and couldn’t fault the cleanliness. I would go back as its easy access to the night life and beaches.

4* HOTEL
1* FOOD
Bad points - They charge you for using fridge in your room i cant remember how much but its a lot, the annoying entertainment team that dont leave you alone all day trying to get you to play bingo etc then charging you for playing! also they play the same music every day and the food is terrible and not much choice also you have to pay for your drinks with the meal(5 euros for a beer) i took a bottle of water in with me as did a lot of people.
I dont moan for the sake of it but for £750 per person half board i expect better.

I have just comeback from my forth...

I have just comeback from my forth visit to Cyprus and this year we decided to stay at the Anmaria in Ayia Napa. We booked this through Thomas Cook with Olympic Holidays, this is the first time i have done this in a long time as we usually book online but the way things are at the moment and the collapses of a few online companies we felt it was "safer and peace of mind" to book through the travel agents. We got a brillant deal with Thomas Cook as i advised them we had some good prices and they were very happy to match them.
Tip - if you book with olympic going to cyprus and you fly with Eurocypria - decline your meals as we opted out of the £30 flight meals and received meals on both flights for free!! Baring in mind this may have been a one off but its worth a try.
Our first impressions of the Anmaria were good. We checked in and got a top floor room which we did not ask for and this overlooked the back of the hotel, you still get a lovely view especially at night when everything is lit up,it was nice and we had clean towels everyday! also they gave us a complimentary lunch voucher as we arrived late wednesday morning therefore missing the evening meal of the Tuesday night so this was a bonus. We were Half board and it seemed alot of the other people staying in the hotel were all inclusive this ment no cash tills at the bar, every night we would have a drink before going into ayia napa and we were given them for free, they knew full well we were only half board!! The pool area was lovely, the only downfall was it became a pool where alot of the young workers go too, even though this is not allowed!! Listening to there funny stories and swearing was alright for me and my boyfriend but maybe not for children and the older generation.Plus taking sunbeds when they were not staying at the hotel was annoying!!
We hired a Buggie out for 2 days for 80 euros, i recommend the hire shop next door but one from "Garys Bar and Grill" The english man (sorry not sure what his name was) was so helpful and he gave us the best map ever!! We drove along the coast to Protaras and visited alot of unknown beaches to the tourists!! Try Konnos Beach!
The Weather was hot all week and i would definately recommend this hotel!!Location was fantastic! We were not too bothered about eating in the hotel, we did once and the food was alright but we are the type of people that like to stay in a hotel as a luxury but not live in there!!
Try the Romeo Inn - they do a great english breakfast!! and for the best steak in your life - try Diva in Protaras (it costs 15 euros each way in a taxis but its worth it plus theres a few pubs and clubs there as well so you could make a night of it)
Ayia Napa nightlife is known for being well and truly mad but they do offer quite a few pubs for families as well with entertainment like shows and karoke.
Square Bar, Minos,Manella are good....the PR's are very annoying, they have about 20 people for one pub!! but they do give you tickets for free entrance to the clubs though.
Try Carwash for a night of cheese!!
A way to get rid of them is tell them that you work in cyprus and they leave you alone!!
So on a whole this was a fantastic holiday!!!

I returned back from Ayia Napa last night after a lovely week away! My parents flew out the previous week; after a trip in June this year.
Three of us, then flew out the following week and joined our parents for the week at the same hotel.
I had the best room of all! A sea and pool view, as opposed to overlooking the back of the hotel which does not have much scenery to marvel at.
The rooms were cleaned daily, with the option to have fresh towels daily - Not something which happens in some hotels/destinations.
The room was well decorated with plenty of hanging space and seats in the room with a small table and also furniture on the balcony to take in the views if you so wished!
The hotel was spotlessly clean; the Food and beverage manager was always around ensuring that everything was looking it's best. The food was of good standard and there was always something on offer.
If you go here you have to try the desserts - I have never tasted mousse cake and jelly which was delicious!
I would definitelt return here - It was probably the most central hotel of all that were situated along the main road and was within easy walking distance of "the Square" and local souvenir/leather/clothes shops within the resorts! If the food is not to your taste or you want a late night snack there is a McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut nearby!
Would definitely return - 10/10

Me and my partner stayed here for 2...

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food was really lovely, the room very clean, the balcony was 1 of the 4 largest overlooking the funfair. The room was cleaned daily and the bathroom was very clean. We also had a mini fridge and safe (paid for at Reception), the built in wardrobe was enormous. We also had a TV, and 2 cosy chairs and table in the room. The balcony had 2 chairs and a table also. We also hired an iron and ironing board for the 2 weeks we stayed to save struggling with a travel iron and no flat surface to iron on! We also took a travel kettle and bought tea/coffee as they aren't provided in the rooms but at least we had a fridge to put the milk in and some butties and cold drinks.
The swimming pool was really lovely, quite large, plenty of sunloungers, and the small sand/gravel beach at the end of a footpath. The drinks were a bit expensive if you paid separately being on half board, but worth buying as the bar staff got to know how you liked your drinks and made my Pina Colada's really strong as that's how I like them!
The service in the hotel was 10/10, staff very friendly and helpful. Poolside entertainment was reasonable. They made a point of doing a quiz every day which was good fun, they also did water volleyball as well and darts competitions.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday with peace and quiet. There are plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants nearby if you're not on Full Board basis.

We visited this hotel in August 2005....

We visited this hotel in August 2005. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very nice and the pool was fantastic. The hotel is situated along a street of nice little shops, and gives easy access to the night life in Ayia Napa. The staff were very friendly.
The only things we were disappointed with were the food, which did not seem to change from night to night, however the morning breakfast was nice.
The beach was very rocky and not very nice at all. The indoor pool is very basic, but I suppose this is the same for most holiday resorts. The night time entertainment was quite poor, however as I said previously you are not far from the town.
The only issue we had was with the maids. They were very rude. The dry cleaning had to be paid for at the desk, but was collected from your room by the maids. We were unaware of this and so I left my dry cleaning on the bed, with the ticket and the exact amount it was worth which came to around £25.00. Upon return the dry cleaning was taken and so was the money. When we came to collect the clothes we were advised we owed £25.00 as the money had to be paid at the desk and not to the maids. The maids had taken our money and so we ended up paying £50.00 for dry cleaning.
After that we felt very uncomfortable leaving any valuables in the room.
Overall summary, nice hotel, nice outdoor pool, nice staff, however not a 4 star hotel.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel Nov 2006, we found the hotel very clean, and the food was good and the staff where very friendly. We recognised the bar manger Pampus from apartment's we stayed in a few year's previous.
The waitress Anna was a nice girl also Lubo was a nice guy. We hoped to go back March or April 2008.
