Dec 2008, dato

I spent three days in Paris with my wife. We stayed in Intercontinental. In first day we went for dinner and after we come back our bed was done by cleaner and in the same time she stole our two mobile phones and proffesional digital camera. It was obvious for us that... more

May 2007, Mr A Bothamley

The Westin Paris is situated perfectly for a short stay. Within walking distance of practically all the main attractions. My room overlooked the Jardin Tuileries and had a view of both the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, perfect. I didn't use public transport once in my... more

Rude and Inept
Apparently, now that the Le Grande is the flagship Intercontinental in Paris, this Intercontinental on Rue de Castiglione is left with the staff dregs. I visited the hotel in late September while in town for the motor show. The front desk told me prior to my stay that there would be high-speed Internet in the room. There is a modem data port; that's it. Even though I am an Ambassador member, the whole staff treated me with contempt. Calls to the front desk and concierge went unanswered, and I didn't get the room I had reserved. The... more
Interconti nice but disappointing
We just returned from Paris yesterday, having spent 6 nights at the Intercontinental. As the previous reviewer indicated, I too was an Ambassador client and was expecting an upgrade and view of the Tuileries Gardens. I was assured at booking that this would be provided. Instead the room wasn't ready when we arrived in the morning and we were told to come back in an hour, but they sent us to the bar for some complimentary coffee. All was still well. When we were assigned our room it was not on a high floor and was facing a tiny courtyard... more
Hotel was great, but not all expecations met.
The Paris Intercontinental has the greatest location for seeing the sites, catching the metro and simply walking and window shopping. However, as a premium member of Priority Rewards (Ambassador), I was given assurances of early check-in, upgrade in room to the Club floor, access to the club lounge, etc., none of which were provided. Beware of promises at time of booking. Also, save yourself time and aggrevation and do not use the Internet to book tickets to opera, concerts, museum pass, metro, local tours, etc. All are easily available... more
A pleasurable Parisian stay
Stayed at the Intercontinental for 4 nights in Sep this year. We have stayed at numerous Intercontinental properties throughout the US and Asia and this one is one of the better ones. Even though we had two nights free coupon, the management had no problem fullfilling our need to have a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, the more expensive rooms due to the view. The room is a little bit smaller than the room facing the courtyard, but what a view! You can see the Tower, the garden, the Lourve, Musee D'Orsay, and the rest of the right... more
A great experience
This is a great hotel. We stayed for 5 days December 18th 2003. The club level is small, but first class. Try to book on the club level if you can, breakfast, drinks and snacks. It may not be the best "5 Star" hotel, but for the money in Paris its a bargin.
Loved the Paris Intecontinental, 3 Rue de Castiglione!!!
Stayed here 10 days in late July 04. Wonderful! Hotel was beautiful, room was very big and nice! Room AC felt great!Had room on back side, quiet, big bath. Daughter joined us later in our stay and our room was still PLENTY big with a fold out sofa, walk in closet. Great location for many cafes, restaurants, shopping, museums, sightseeing. We had great internet rate for club level that was well worth it. All the hotel staff were wonderful, very helpful and courteous. Very nice decor, courtyard was a nice centerpoint, day and... more
Very Nice
Stayed at the Intercontinental while travelling with two children (10 and 13 yrs old; three total in the room). The hotel lobby and staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The concierge recommended several restaurants/stores and also arranged two excursions to my satisfaction. We were in a "deluxe" room with a courtyard view (which I prefer as you don't have any street noise) that accommodated a comfortable rollaway bed that was free of charge. The room was nicely appointed, very comfortable, and large by Parisian standards. I have... more
Spectacular
A great experience. The staff was attentive and friendly. The rooms were wonderful - we had a great view of the Park. And speaking of the Park, joggers will love rolling out of the hotel and into the Tuilleries, around the Louvre then up the Seine. The location was simply perfect. I don't have a single complaint about this hotel.
Paris IC - Pros & Cons
I stayed five nights at the Paris IC in early March. I loved the location - so convenient to everything you would want to see in Paris: the Louvre, the Musee D'Orsay, Eiffel Tower, etc. The check-in staff was very accomodating and the conceriege helpful. The room was very large by European standards, tastefully decorated. There was just one major problem throughout my stay - NOISE! There was construction / repair noise almost every day until seven or so at night. The housekeeping staff made the area directly outside my room their... more
Perfect Location - perfect view
This was our second trip to Paris, and we had a great experience at the hotel. We arrived at about 11am, after an overnight flight, and we greeted by a very charming woman at the front desk. Since we were staying 8 nights, it was a bit of a challenge finding a room that was available for the entire stay, that was ready. She persisted and offered us a large room, with no view, or a smaller room with a view. Of course we took the view, and were rewarded with french doors opening to a spectacular view of the Tuilleries, Eiffel Tower and the... more
