Hotel Serhs Montemar

We stayed at this hotel for a week, and was most satisfied with the standard of cleanliness, quality and quantity of the food, and helpfulness of the staff. We chose a room with a balcony on the 7th floor and were rewarded with great views of the sea and mountain. This room is slightly smaller than those without balconies but quite acceptable. Everything worked well, shower, lights, aircon etc. The larger room would be fine for families with children. The grounds of the hotel were good with lots of shade from palm trees and a big pool. The indoor pool was warmer!! It only took 10 miutes to walk into town, but not much to see, except shops and a castle. To venture further afield a car is recommended. We would recommend that one stays away during July and August, as that's when the children arrive!!

Food not up to North American standards. Food catered to non-North American customers ( in most cases non-recognizable and under cooked). Most clientelle were German who did not or would not speak english. The apartments in the older building were clean but very oudated and did not have a holiday or hotel feel to them. Satelite TV -only BBC for english guests.

Loved every bit of it jsut come back and had an amazing holiday food was great staff friendly loved the pool am just about to go and look to book again next year went with my husband and our 4 year old daughter and couldnt of found a better holiday for us!

What a great hotel! Staff were friendly and helpful, whole hotel was super clean. Food was above average and plenty of it. My daughter was impressed with activity programme and all together we had a great time! My only complaints are: that we could not get a tea/coffee before 8am, not so good when you're leaving at 2am!! Also the way the buffet was set out was not ideal one way only would help!

I booked this holiday not really knowing what to expect, but I had a really lovely time here. The hotel was spotless and the one and only complaint I had was that the walls were very thin and it could be a little noisy but other than that it was spot on. I travelled with 2 kids, 1 of them a baby and the staff in the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was very good and there was plenty of choice although I can imagine it would get very busy in peak time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it is clean, central and good value.I would certainly go back.

Just stayed at the hotel for a week and thought it was great. Hotel is really clean and well kept (the bar is outdated but again clean). Room service were in every day making beds, cleaning the bathroom and providing clean towels. The pool area again was spotless, the staff were out every morning tidying up and cleaning the sun loungers. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was great, all tastes were catered for and there was plenty of it! For someone who had never been AI before I was worried about what it would be like but was seriously impressed and have just booked to stay again at the end of the year! Great for families and couples alike, the kids there seemed to love it! 5 minute walk from the beach and train station, 5 mins on the train to Calella and just under an hour to Barcelona. All in all I would recommend it to anyone.

date may15/07. hotel monetmar ...staff helpful. the place was very clean, the area as great trainlinks and is easy to easy barcleona is a must go to place also use the roadtrain it stops outside the monetmar and is cheap n cheerfully now to the hotel our hoilday firm told us mainly uk holiday makers well no it was mainly dutch.franch,germany, spainish so if you dont like mixing it dont book it, food was plenly but desert was boring, drinks beer was good but local spirits and soft drinks were below par. bewarn the pool is great but with no liftgaurd be carful as the pool is deep in places.. nighttime was a marjor disapppoint the staff try but when you have bingo as the highpoint of your evening it tells you evything but on the whole yes i would go back

We went to thie Hotel for 10days in August. It was a disaster from the minute we arrived until the minibus picked us up to go to the airport. The Hotel only caters for European not British, the food was not edible so we ate out for the 10days this making our holiday very expensive as we had already paid for All Inclusive. the swimming pool water was so cold you couldn't go in it. The entertainment was terrible. The holidaymakers were very rude and the children had no manners, they pushed they spat on us. The Hotel staff did not want to know any of your problems. We booked an excursion to Barcelona we waited for over an hour on the coach which did not turn up at all. The hygiene leaves a lot to be desired in the bar and restaurant area. This was the worst holiday i have ever experienced so i would not advise you to go there.

Amazing Allinclusive value for money. We paid £132 for 2 people for 4 nights / 5days at the Montemar Hotel with Medhotels.com. That worked out £66 each or £16.50 per person per night! So what did we get for our money? The hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas. The staff where very friendly and very courteus. They where professional and very well mannered. Our room was on the 3rd floor - the lifts where very modern, curved with lots of glass and went up the side of the building. The room was a decent size, very comfortable, light and airy, clean and bright fixtures and fittings - nice marble bathroom. constant hot water. maid service everyday if required. When we didnt require the beds making etc we just told the maids and grabbed a few clean towels in a swap. We had a balcony overlooking the pool area -which was very spacious. The pool area was gorgeus. A lovely big pool with a jacuzzi at one end. Small childrens pool and lots of sunbeds - and yes there where a few towels on the beds before 9am but being off peak there was plenty of room for everyone. The pool area was kept imaculatly clean at all times - the bar staff and resteraunt staff where very good - always on the go. The only let down that i could see was the bar area - a very big open space - with not very comfortable seating - very 70's. Most people drank outside on the terrace in the evening where there was a very modern and big stage. Aparently all the entertainment used t be performed outside but due to locals complaining of noise pollutution the hotel explained that it could no longer use it! This was a shame but im sure if they spent a little money on the bar seating area and indoor stage things would improve drastically. this hotel also has beautifull gardens with childrens play areas - ground chess - giant size - crazy golf. This hotel has a lot of Spanish and Dutch clientale - not many english but to us this was a blessing in disguise. Most foreigners know how to behave around unlimited alcohol; unlike some of my fellow brits that i have encountered on allinclusive! The breakfast was extensive - eggs, bacon etc - cold plates - meat and cheese - fresh juices toasts etc - the montemar has the best tea and coffee machnes of any allinclusive that i have ever been to. The snacks go on at 12 noon - hodogs, burgers, chips, salad and pasta. not much choice but eatable. The lunch menu was always the best of the day for us - excellent quality and choice. The montemar also has tea / coffe available all day and between 4.30 and 5.30 pm they provide biscits and cakes. Icecreams available to. Evening meal was always good - varied choice - more continental style food but very eatable. The alcoholic drinks where very good quality and served from 11am every day untill 11.45 pm last orders. 1 euro upgrade per imported drinks ie gordons gin instaed of local. cocktails available ans soft drinks on tap self service all day. the montemar has agua con gas on tap which was gorgeus. the entertainment wasnt that good but to be honest we didnt care. The montemar is in a great position in la pineda and was great for travelling along the coast - malgrat etc. the train station was 5 mins from hotel. I would definatly use this hotel again - more so in off peak times as i guess it would get very busy july/august. we loved it.

This 3 star Serhs Group Hotel is good. Situated virtually in the centre of Pineda de Mar and 3 mins walk to the main shopping area. The walk to the beach takes about 10 mins especially when loaded with all the kids paraphernalia. We travelled Ryanair from Blackpool to Girona and hired a car at the airport reaching the resort in less than 30 minutes. The hotel has been refurbished within the last 3 years and overall standard is excellent. Rooms (we had a 3 bed for myself and 2 young children) are pleasant, spotlessly clean but small. Ours overlooked the all weather football/vollyball court which became noisy at night when teenagers thought mid-night was a good time to play football! The swimming pool is excellent with a spa type arrangement at one end,and a separate toddlers pool next to the sunbathing area. Typical of the Costa Brava hot spots, the place is well stocked with German tourists, who relentlessly claim their territory at the crack of dawn, and the chances of getting a sun bed near the pool is close to nil - unless you join the stampede with them. We went on the AI package which was good value. The drinks supply was endless and selection was far better than most AI deals we have been on. The food was reasonable but not the best ,and certainly catered for the German market; selection was limited and repetative. My kids nonetheless ate well with loads of pasta dishes and several varieties of chicken although exactly what we never worked out. Kids entertainment was good with the usual kiddies club and night time shows - please don't show me the way to Amarillo ever again, even Superman was more bearable. The staff at the Montemar were generally very friendly but the Reception team were plainly overworked and this soon became apparent by the time you got to the front of the queue. We travelled by car to Barcelona (40mins) Lloret de Mar, Calella, Santa Susanna and several other coastal resorts. Certainly by comparison Pineda de Mar is quieter and a lot nicer than most of the surrounding resorts and far more appropriate for kids than (say) Lloret de Mar. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Montemar and would certainly go back. I would certainly recommend going All Inclusive which offered very good value.
