We had the most distressing end to our holiday ever. We were in a large group with a number of adults and children. The food in the restuarant was terrible. One of the children cut into a piece of chicken only to see blood dripping out of it. When we raised a complaint,... more

This is an excellent site which caters for all ages and all tastes. There is a wide range of mobile home and chalet accomadation, provided by the site and tour operators. There are also plenty of pitches for caravans and tents, with excellent toilet and shower facilities.... more

We found the park to be lovely, very relaxing even though it is huge. The pool was beautifully clean and kept that way by being manned at all times. We stayed with Haven Europe and their reps could not have been nicer, we arrived to find wine ready for us to relax as well... more

returned again and again
vilanova is a park we have stayed at time and again. With four children under 15 it was a perfect choice. Go to europarcs.com for friendly quality service nice clean air conditioned caravans. Cheaper than haven and siblu. The pools are lovely and you can hire bikes to ride around quite costly but worth combatting all those pastries and bread! If you go at the end of July /Aug you will see the festa major. They have a wonderfu fiesta in vilanova with fireworks bands and processions. The entertainment is ok at the park but not exactly the royal variety performance. The restaurants are quite pricy on the site and there is wireless internet available at reception so take your lap top. Vilanova is not a vey touristy town but lots of shops in the centre and worth walking around to explore. A great market on a saturday in the centre. The beach is sandy and there is a free car park where the locals park nearly opposite the restaurants. Go to sitges which is 20 mins away it is a more up market town and seafront. It is an openly gay resort but lots of families too. Porta ventura is a great universal park and is well worth the visit. Stay late for the fireworks on the lake. The mountains are worth a visit and a nice day out too. have fun
Great campsite apart from......
.... the restaurant prices which were a bit over the top compared to restaurants in town. Avoid the buffet at all costs, 15Euro for a luke-warm limited choice menu. One person complained about the cold chips and was met with a shrug of the shoulders from the staff. The take-away pizzas are 10 Euro each and definately not worth the money. Don't expect staff at reception to go out of their way to help you out either if you don't speak Spanish. I tried to get one of them to order me a taxi and she said she wasn't permitted to do so even after I offered her the money for the phone call ( have you ever tried ringing a spanish taxi firm without having any spanish,,,,lol) As for the rest of the campsite, I found it well maintained and clean, especially the shower/toilet blocks. The pools were great and the daily activities/entertainment provided were first class. The guy who hires bicycles was hard to pin down as he is not on site but Steve at Paramount Places sorted it out with a quick phone call. Vilanova town itself is beautiful, from the seafront restaurants/bars to the fantastic shopping. Locals are extremely friendly especially if you at least try to communicate in Spanish. The odd 'Hola' and 'Gracias' goes a long way. I'd thoroughly recommend you stay with Steve at Paramount Places on the campsite. This guy really is a 'Mr Fixit' and will be available to you whenever you have a query/problem. His mobiles are excellent and have that invaluable item for a holiday in the sun i.e. Air Conditioning. The large decking area at each mobile is also fantastic and something most other mobiles don't have on site. Steve wants his customers to have the best holiday ever and he certainly succeeded in our case. This guy met us at the airport and brought us back again at the end of the holiday. He also managed to take us on a couple of trips (Sitges and Salou) during our stay. I've been to several Keycamp sites in France and Spain before but I'd have to say the welcome and attentiveness shown to us by Steve and his family outshone any of these others. Looking forward to booking with Paramount Places again in the near future. Nigel,Sheena,Erin and Ryan Ballymena Co Antrim
changed our bungalow without telling us
We have just returned from a 10 day trip to Vilanova Park, which i booked directly with them on their website november 2006. I was in touch with them a number of times between november and june, checking various details about our accomadation. We booked the top of the range bungalow because there were 6 in our party, including my elderly sick mother, we needed as much space and comfort as possible, or so i thought. On our arrival at Vilanova Park on June 10th 2007, they brought us to our bungalow, not the one that i had booked last November. I queried this with the reception staff, whom i found to be extremely rude. I'll make a very long story short and the bottom line is that they brought out a new brouchure last january and the bungalow that i had booked was no longer availbable, so they down graded/sized me to suit their new facilities. The alternative bungalow that they gave us was much smaller and poorly laid out, for the same money. They strung us along for the first 3 days on the pretence that they would move us to a bigger bungalow but this never happened. Their attitude towards us was disgraceful, when i asked them why we had not been informed by email of the change in our accommadation, the receptionist shrugged his shoulders and offered no apology or explanation. I will never bring my family back to Vilanova Park again. This was meant to be a very special holiday with my sick mother but it will be remembered for all negative reasons only.
Fantastic Holiday
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Vilanova Park which we booked through Paramount Places. With four children aged between 16 and 4 it was going to be difficult to please everyone but all agreed this was one of the best holidays we had. The campsite had everything, beautiful large pools, sports pitches, supermarket, restaurant, entertainment etc but it was Paramount Places and Steve and his family who really ensured our holiday was a success. From being collected at the airport to the welcome on our arrival they were the perfect hosts, always on hand with tips on where to eat and the best ways to get around not to mention a great trip to Salou on Saturday night. It made such a difference to have people who knew the area on hand to help you make the most of your holiday, The accommodation itself was spotless and the decking area lovely. We will definately be back and now that we have our bearings we will rent a car to explore this beautiful coastline even more. Many thanks to Steve, Maria, Bill and all the family for making our holiday such an enjoyable one.
An excellent campsite
This was really a great campsite with excellent facilities. We probably did not make full use of the facilities as we spent a few days in Barcelona and a few days at Port Aventura - both very accessiblr from the site. We had a hired car and would recommend a good map of Barcelona if you intend to drive there. The site was very well maintained with plenty of activities which were well controlled. We certainly intend going back there in the future.
Vilanova camping - top rate
I cannot agree with the person who only gave this site one star. My wife and I have just returned from our second visit. We first went in August 2005 with our two teenage children. There are many facilities there, including an indoor pool and gym - useful as it poured with rain all week - there are also tennis courts and football pitches, table tennis tables and internet access. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the odd 'hola' and 'gracias' are appreciated. The site is kept spotless and there is a good supermarket, souvenir shop and launderette on site. As regards Mas Roquer, the restuarant, the food is reasonably priced, the menu varied and the food quite good. Again, the staff are helpful: my wife is diabetic and they gladly supplied fresh fruit rather than the unsuitable, for her, desserts on offer. A frequent bus service runs from outside the gate, which will take you to the station or pleasant city of vilanova. I would recommend the site, which is so popular that it is open all year round.
A Great Family Park!
We have visited this park before with our children 2 years ago and had a fabulous time so we decided that we'd give it another go! The kids are now aged 16, 7 and 3 so quite a hard lot to please generally due to the different ages. We decided this time to use Siblu for accomodation although there are a huge range of companies to choose from. The holiday including flights with easyjet from Liverpool cost just less than £500! I reccomend booking a taxi through the park from the airport for around 60 euros for 5 people although on the way back to the airport we took the buses which are fast, clean, comfortable and cheap. On the park there is so much to do for everyone, the pools are wonderful, well maintained and clean even in the low season and although the park is huge you don't feel that you are crammed in with plenty of personal space. The beach in the town of Vilanova is amazing - shallow for quite some way out so safe for kids too and again scrupolously clean. Overall I have to say if you have a family and want to have a true holiday in the sun with as little hassle as possible - give it a go! We will be back next year although we've decided to book direct through the park and stay in a bungalow this time - again these are great! Whilst there you can either do as little as you like or go to so many places Sitges, Port Aventura, Barcelona - the list is endless and the bus into the town costs less than 1 euro and links with the excellent train service.
Great Family Holiday
My family are just back from our 1st camping holiday at Vilanova Camping Park where we stayed with Paramount Places in a clean and comfortable mobile home for 10 days. From the moment our host Steve collected us from Barcelona Airport and dropped us at our destination a half hour later (he also stopped at the camp shop so we could get bread and milk before the shop closed) we were stress free. Vilanova Park has 2 large outdoor pools and a fab indoor leisure centre as well as football pitches, table tennis, games room and the nightly shows were very enjoyable (especially Roger's Cuban Show). We also took the day trip to Barcelona from the Camp Site and this was excellent which included a trip to the Olympic Village and Newcamp Stadium much to the delight of our 10 and 14yr sons.A trip to Portaventura is an absolute must . We missed the train and a taxi cost us 60 euro which wasn't too bad for a 40 minute journey. Overall we would highly recommend this Camp site and Paramount Places Mobile Home. Steve and Maria were the perfect hosts and thanks again for the invite to the B B Que. The food was great. See you again next year and looking forward to seeing all the decking.... Excellent holiday
Just returned fron Vilanova Park with our 3 children aged 7 3 2 . We had a fantastic time, The accomodation which we booked through Hostel world was okay. The mobile home was clean and tidy on the inside, outside was a bit scrufffy. We were at the very bottom of the huge site, in a very quiet road, so it was perfect, a bit of a hike to the restaurant which seves a fab spagettii Bolognese and pepperoni pizza. The kids disco every night kept the children entertained while we sat and enjoyed our meal in peace. The pools were excellent, although the site is vast there were two pools, the youths of the campsite prefered the one by the resataurant, while the families went for the more quiter one at the other side of the site. Which was immaculate the baby pool was very safe for toddlers and my three had a ball. We would definately go back to this site. Try the Melon and Cava Sangria from the restaurant it's a must !
Totally rubbish camp site
Just returned from our holiday in Spain. We spent just five days at the Vilanova Camping Park and that was enough to show us that the site was awful. The campsite's website, -------, shows great amenities and views of the site and its surroundings yet in reality the site is practically empty. There is nothing to do apart from lie on the grass around the swimming pool, or eat and drink in an abandoned and expensive small restaurant. That's not all. Rules were given out to us when we arrived and one of them stated that silence was required after ten o'clock in the evening. The accomodation was no better. The caravan was small and cramped and full of ants. When we arrived from the pool later that day to get changed in order to go out, the lock fell out when we unlocked the door. Then it was the bathroom lock to go, then the cupboard door handle and finally another cupboard door fell off. Because there was nothing on the campsite we decided to go into Vilanova itself. You can catch a bus every half hour for just 0.90€ each from just outside the campsite into the vilanova town centre. We decided to spend the day lying on the beach each day and having lunch at the local cafe. Then at the night we returned to Vilanova and eat in one of the several restaurants. The local spanish people including the restauant staff were very helpful and friendly, they even offered to order us a taxi back to the camp which cost us around 10€ for 4 of us. The weather was fantastic all week, we all came back really brown. Overall I'd say that the site was rubbish although the village was fantastic. If you don't mind splashing out on local transport to get down to the village, then this is the holiday for you, but if you prefer to stay on the site and use the facilities then look somewhere else
