Le Parc Des Alicourts Holiday Park

Our first impressions were that we were on the set for "The Prisoner" tv programme as it was so clinical.
The shop was poorly stocked. The takeaway was awful and the restaurants choice of food was very limited.
We have never seen a campsite bar in France with such continual queues for "pints of Lager".
We were pleased that we only booked for two nights and were for most of that time able to go and explore the Loire.
That said, it could be suitable for families with young children, and the Reception staff were helpful.

JUST GOT BACK FROM parc des Alicourts IN FRANCE.FANTASTIC HOLIDAYCAN NOT FAULT THE SITE IN ANY WAY.LOTS TO DO FOR THE KIDS AND DIFFERENT ENTERTAINMENT ARRANGED FOR MOST NIGHTS.STAFF ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL AND ALL SPOKE ENGLISH. SWIMMING POOLS WERE SAFE FOR THE CHILDREN AND THE LAKE WAS SO WARM THAT WE STILL SWIMMING AT 7.30PM.
ONLY 2 HOURS FROM DISNEY,WHICH BROKE THE TRAVELLING UP ON THE WAY DOWN.
THE ZOO WAS ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY BUT IS PROBABLY THE BEST ZOO WE HAVE BEEN TO.
SITE SO GOOD WE ARE JUST WATING TO BOOK FOR NEXT AUGUST.
HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE WHO IS WANTING TO BOOK UP A HOLIDAY FOR A CHILD FRIENDLY SITE.
WE BOOKED DIRECT WITH THE SITE AND MADE QUITE A BIG SAVING.....
( 10 NIGHTS STAY IN A 3 BED CHALET RIGHT NEXT TO THE LAKE WORKED OUT AT 750 EUROS.) PLUS FERRY CROSSING...

Just got home from Parc des Alicourts. The site is immaculate with lots to do for families with children of all ages. The pool with the wave machine kept our kids entertained for hours! The lake was perfect for messing about on. There is a 9 hole golf course on site and also a beauty spa including sauna and steam room. The weather was generally warm and sunny but there were a couple of days where the weather wasn't so good. On those days we went a bit further afield and visited a couple of Chateaux and even went to the Massif Central which was only a couple of hours drive away and well worth a visit to see the weird volcanic mountains. I would definitely recommend the site to friends but would probably book directly through Yelloh! if I went again.

We found the resort to be ideal for a family holiday.
Good points were: Excellent facilities for kids - 3 water slides, wave pool + lake swimming, 2 good play areas as well as the usual table tennis, football etc. The fishing part of the lake was well stocked with carp (we saw 28lb being caught) and roach. Resort is safe and secure and small enough to let children roam. The chalet we stayed in was very clean and well equipped. The grounds are very well landscaped and it doesn't feel as cramped as some resorts do. Balneo has quiet, relaxing jacuzzis and pools and has good (and cheap) beauty treatments (I had a lovely 1 hour massage for half the UK price).
Down sides were: all sun loungers were taken 5 minutes after the pool opened, The takeaway restaurant couldn't ever cope with 7pm rush! Nearest Supermarket is in La Motte which is about 15kms away.

Excellent facilities especially for young children. I went by myself with a 2 year old and a 5 year old and had a wonderful relaxing week. Beautiful grounds and a lake to swim in if you tire of the swimming pools.
Lots to do in a very safe environment. Quiet when you wanted it to be. The only tiny thing that let it down would have to be the restaurant - the service was very slow at its busiest times and they did not think to employ extra staff at these times.
